I am so excited by this post. I used to make bags- 18 years ago when Lily Pulitzer made fabric purses the "it" thing. The bags were pretty simple and lacked the fun hardware of today's designs. I love having access to products online that aren't available locally but something like a bag with so many speciality supplies-especially the hardware and correct zippers and interfacing can make it a nightmare to piece together an entire project. I love that ByAnnie is a complete resource and cannot wait to make a bag. I started quilting this spring and am now obsessed with the incredible quilting fabrics available today. Making a bag is the perfect way to use quilting cottons in something bedsides a quilt- something I can carry around and use everyday. By Annie used Tula Pink's gorgeous fabrics in at least 2 of the bags on the video. I am head-over-heels for Tula's designs which are deceptive as she weaves animals into patterns that look like flowers that pair with bold strips and polka dots. The designs are her drawings which I love.. I also am obcessed with Basic Grey's edgy designs and Tim Holtz grungy vintage papers-turned-fabric. They both started in the world of Mixed Media -where I also started. Bari J Ackerman's beautiful hand-painted watercolor canvases make gorgeous fabric and are the reason I started quilting. Finally, the incredible fabrics by Alison Glass are perfection. You NEED to check her out. Her fabrics are so interesting-she has Quilting Cottons, Cotton Lawn, Double Gauze, Cotton Linen Blend, and Jersey. Some of her collections are 100% cotton but feel unlike any other quilting cotton I have ever touched. Their weave is more pronounced giving them an awesome texture and the colors are rich Some collections have a darker thread woven into the fabric giving it a depth that traditional quilting cotton doesn't have. It also makes for a fabulous and unique selvage edge. Fabrics that have a more textured weave include Mariner Cloth, Kaleidoscope, Insignia and Chroma. Her more traditional quilting cottons are Sun Print, Diving Board, Remix, Art Theory.

Very nicely done! I bought the Bag of the Month Club, then bought all the stuff to make one of the bags, then I never did anything with it! I need to get on that!

On CRAFTSY there are some classes with Anni Unrein, I found it so helpful to watch her making a bag. If you made one, you can do every pattern from her. Love your bag! Greetings from Salzburg, Austria, Europe

Yes! They wanted to piggie back off the Crafty videos and do their own! They are really great quality like what you experienced with the Craftsy videos!

I love love love Annies patterns and I ❤️ this tote but Im not a fan of the zipper binding. It looked awful when I tried the open wide pattern. Anyone have any ideas to get around the one part?
