I find ByAnnie directions very difficult to follow 😢…I have learned not to attempt a ByAnnie pattern unless there is a whole video tutorial. I know ByAnnie has those ‘add on videos’, but they rarely teach the entire pattern…just short videos of various parts along the way. So I am very appreciative of you doing a great, in depth, video tutorial of whole pattern 😊👍
I completely agree with you! Sadly, Annie usually doesn’t allow videos like this, so I, too, am thankful that there’s one to sew along with. Thanks, Jess!
Jess I love your way to do the binding, I usually cut my binding wider on the byAnnie patterns, because I feel the pattern instruction for the binding just aren’t wide enough. Love your binding hack better. Will be doing this from now on. ByAnnie needs more tutorials like this one!
Bought the pattern because of this video and have come back for the instructions. Your directions are always the best!!!! I need a good visual when i work on a pattern. Definitely using your binding method for this bag.
Thank you so so so so so much for this video!! Like I literally can’t thank you enough. Beginner at sewing here have made 2 simple quilts but that’s it. Was told in store this bag was easy to make however I found the written directions hard to understand. Thought I would be fine because I had the video add on but it only shows very few aspects/ parts of this project.
The tube turner can be used to insert the webbing and turn the outer tube at the same time. I use the largest tube the outer fabric will fit over. Hook the fabric as usual and then hook into the webbing. Start slowly to get everything going in to the tube. It might be easier if you pinch the sides of the web as it feeds into the tube. Take your time to make sure the tube seam goes down the center of the web.
Wonderful instructions, thank you. I’m making the Daytripper 11 bag which has no add on video. A lot of what you have shown is relevant to the Daytripper. I wish all By Annie bags had add on videos but, honestly, the videos I find on UA-cam are way better.
Your tutorials are great and I thank you very much for them. Annie's patterns are difficult, and I wouldn't have made any bag without your videos. Would it be possible for you to record a video on how to sew A Place For Everything 2.0? It would be great
Actually, Sara of SewSweetness just uses an Iron to lightly Press the Fabric to the ByAnnie Soft and Stable Foam Stabilizer and it sticks fine. Somehow it creates a nape or some sort, she clips the edges and works from there.
That is SO CUTE! I have several patterns by Annie, and I’ve been too chicken to make them. This is one of them. I’m pretty sure I can do this. I moved from quilting into bag making, and have been bag making for a couple of years. I think it’s because bag patterns are a different language almost from quilt patterns, and I still get overwhelmed. By Annie patterns are so cute, but they intimidated me. I’ve always sucked at quilt bindings, so outside bag bindings are scary.
You will LOVE them! Jump in and give it a try! You’ll be addicted, lol! I’ve hand sewed the outside binding bags just like I would a quilt and it is chefs kiss beautiful! I’m not super great at binding, but when it’s on the inside, it hides the imperfections, lol! So I totally understand the hesitation there.
Give it a try! By Annie patterns can be intimidating at first but just take it line-by-line. Step-by-step. Celebrate finishing each part and if you make a mistake, just pick out those stitches. Like my grandmother always said “IF you make a mistake, the sun is still going to rise, the earth is still going to spin.” (I use this to bolster my confidence) Once you get a few By Annie patterns completed, you’ll be ready to try all of them!
I love your videos. I've learnt so many tips & tricks from watching your videos. Would you be able to do a tutorial on Zip it Up by by Annie? Thank you 😊
I would love a video on A PLACE FOR EVERYTHING. I already bought the pattern but I haven’t attempted it yet. Also, I tried the Spencer Ogg ESCAPE POD WEEKEND BAG, and I failed. I don’t know where I went wrong but I need a weekend bag and I love the design. I would love to try it again but I need someone to walk me through it. Many thanks for all you do. 😊
I echo the request for ByAnnie pattern tutorials as you do wonderful visual and verbal explanations. A question/concern is that the ByAnnie double sided tape immediately makes my needle sticky, thus causing skipped stitches. Cleaning with alcohol was unsuccessful. I had to throw away several microtex chrome needles. What is your trick to using this useful tape? Thank you for any advice you have to offer.
When sewing over double sided tape, I often put a tiny drop of Sewer’s Aid on my finger, then wipe it onto the machine needle. It helps to lubricate the needle so that the adhesive from the dst doesn’t stick so much. As always, test on a scrap of the fabric you’ll be sewing and reapply as needed. Sewer’s Aid and/or sewing machine oil also helps remove the adhesive from gummed up needles. Good luck with your projects!
Jess, sisters common thread caddy pad, Texas mom’s designs. Could you do a tutorial, or maybe you’ve done one. I don’t know how to show you a picture here thanks
Hi Jess! I have got to make this bag! I love your projects and your tutorials and I love how you keep it real. You are always my first reference when I look up a bag I'm making! I have a question; if I signed up today for the Bag Making Box club, would I receive this same box, or next month's? Thank you in advance! 😊❤
I'm a very happy Bee Box subscriber, but do wish there was some more gender-neutral fabrics. My niece is making out like a bandit and would love my nephew to reap some of the goodies from this subscription too.
Thank you! We'll plan for this! It's definitely difficult to make bags for men. Not just the material, but the pattern as well. We'll keep an eye out for some good options.
@@AnneMarieMitchell-om3gr I'm definitely planning on making one of these for my nephew out of some hamburger print poly nylon. I love the fabric curation from the Bee Box, but I don't think he would jump on Tula Pink fabrics (as much as I think pink dinos should be enjoyed by everyone)!
I know that you have to cut the Fabrics for quilting larger than you require but I wonder why in the pattern when you cut it down to the actual size that you’re using.there is a 4 inch waste on one side. I think that’s way too much. is there a reason for this? I know that perhaps you can use it for other projects, but I’d rather not have that lying around to perhaps eventually use.
Is this pattern a paper pattern send by mail. I just tried to buy it and they are charging mailing fees and I can’t find how to buy it as a digital pattern to be downloaded. Thank you!
ByAnnie's does not do digital downloads. They only have paper patterns. Found that out when I went looking like crazy for one a couple months ago. I wish they would get with the program and do digital patterns!
Most of By Annie patterns are paper patterns (or cut lists and instructions) sent by mail. Many can be purchased in quilt/fabric shops! That’s how I was first introduced to By Annie patterns.
I got my box but cannot get the pattern. Code does not work the site just wants me to purchase the box. Really don’t know who to contact, so far no answer from Bag of the month. $75.00 down the drain. Very depressing
The pattern should’ve been included in your Bag Making Bee Box. It in a plastic bag, about the same size as the “what’s included” card. There’s a cut list in the pattern bag. This is one of By Annie patterns with just a cut list, no pattern pieces. I hope you find that baggie in your box.
this is the worst bag i have ever made, putting the binding on this bag was horrific, the machine-and i tried 3 machines did not want to sew around the bottom of the bag, UGGH i like the way you showed it but the bag is awful to sew

A place for everything would be a great accompanying bag to do next to go with the 2 by Annie patterns that are shown in this video 😊
Thank you Jess! You're simply amazing!

super cute! and I love that zipper technique.
Such a fantastic video, thank you for making it! I would love to see your take on ByAnnie’s Divide & Conquer 😍
So many good fundamental sewing instructions in this tutorial!

Adorable pattern!!💖
I can’t find running with Scissors tutorial. I’ve got that pattern as well. I love your tutorials.
Love this video! Thank you for making something with quilt cotton. I would love a video tutorial on the triple sling by Country Cow if possible.
OMG! That is a gorgeous bag. Love it.

I’d love to see a tutorial for the Courtside bag, if you haven’t done one yet😊
Putting it on the list! Thanks!
Ain't got my box yet this will be my 1st I just joined can't wait.
Jess said in one of her reels that bags were running late this month I haven’t got mine yet either. Can’t wait!
Oh you're going to LOVE it! It's a great box to start with! Let me know when you make it.
Could you do the travel bag video please please? It’s so hard to find full tutorials of it and it’s so hard to follow the instructions 🤞🤞
😂 “That’s a baaaag, baby!”
There’s an easier way to do the bias strips you should look into that you sew once and then cut them later and they’re all sewn together
Thank you! I'll look into it
I would love to see a tutorial for divide and conquer 😊
Thanks for this! the printed instructions are confusing for me...
Have you made the ByAnnie Ruler Wrap? I’ve ordered the pattern and it would be nice to watch you make it!

could I make this bag using vinyl fabric? like a lightweight vinyl.....
Omg! Is this box still available!?!?!
could double sided quilted fabric be used for this pattern?
