I'm trying to find the right grey color... my problem is the catalog from Argentina. We don't hace the Tamiya TS38 o X-10 so... I don't know the equivalent Rust-Oleum color...
Unless it's ROTS. That is symetrical and all black. Roth was the best looking from the OT. It was almost all blavk. Personally the two tone colour looks like shot in person....that was done for the film only as it likely capture it all black in the 70a early 80s
Hate it too mate...it was meant for the film contrast only..but unlike ROTS all of the original trilogy had this done...yet in person this 2 colour tone looks like bloody shit
@@aragon8072 I get y the OT had this 2 color tone, but they have better cinematic cameras now than they did then, so they don't need the two tone coloring.
Nice end result
At 0:17 is it just me OR it does resemble a Darth Homer or something?? Lol. Jokes apart, great work.
You are a master craftsman!
Thanks for the post and not dragging it out. Could I use this guide for an ESB?
They're a little different. I can't remember if I go over the paint differences in the ESB/ROTJ comparison vid, though they are 95% the same.
Wow. You know your stuff!
Nice, worth the process

Unfortunately I'm not familiar with the rustoleum paints. Try looking for Decuma Grey from Toyota, that might help.
Cheese crisps and coke: the diet of the craftsman! More vids please!
What color do you recommend for grey portion of the mask? TS38 seems to light IMO. I would be interested to know which color you use.
We use Toyota Magnetic grey. 1G3.
How much would a helmet like this cost? With shipping to Europe? What is a normal price for a Vader-ROTJ-Helmet?
What type of tape is that, where can I buy it?
3M fine line vinyl tape. I use 3mm and 6mm, you can buy it on ebay.
Man I hate the grey coloring. It mask Darth Vader's mask not look first and foremost black.
If you want an accurate mask, it's not fully black. Otherwise, it wouldn't look good on film.
You've never actually seen a darth vader helmet, huh? This is exactly how the helmets have always been painted

This is why I refuse to paint vader masks. I dont have patients for this step
