@@RyleyStorm No you don't need to do the underside except in very specific circumstances, and I wouldn't recommend trying it unless you're fairly experienced with moulding and casting.
Is it possible to show us how to make the dome mold? I'm struggling to think how can I recover every detail from the inside but also from the outside, I mean, to place the dome correctly on top of the mask, it has an enormous "pin", the same as your mask (let's say the mask has the "positive" and the dome has the "negative"), so how can I do it? I hope I make it clear ':)
I don't mould the inside of the dome for most Vader helmets. I did for my most recent one, which was a version of the Ralph McQuarrie concept helmet. I would not recommend it for someone who is not experienced. Perhaps we could do a video on how to attach a dome without having to mould the inside though.
With regards to your PVA release agent - how do you get it to even wet the area you wish to isolate. I use a methated spirit based PVA release agent but it beads terribly without some form of primer to keep it in place.
That's not an issue we have run into with PVA before so can't really say unfortunately. The PVA we use is a waterbased version so that might have something to do with it. You can also use an airbrush to spray PVA which would give you thin coats and avoid the beading (just make sure to clean the airbrush right after). This is the one we use: www.ecfibreglasssupplies.co.uk/blue-gloss-pva-release-agent
@@SkunkworksProps just had a look. I recon thats the same stuff we use; thought it was methylated spirit. Its blue any how lol. I like the airbrush idea🙂

I mean how many hours and trial and errors did it take to perfect this? Protect these men by all costs 😅 i need another month until I can afford My package 🤞
I absolutely love the new hope vader you made me..
This is a fascinating insight into the craft of producing a Darth :D Wonderful. .
Hey dude fantastic work I really want a set of darth armour.. keep it up bro
Just saw the 1 they gave to Adam S on Tested nice
Could you make one for the dome, jm trying to make a carbon fiber anh helmet off of my efx one and the insight would be very useful
The process is exactly the same for the dome. Split it down the middle and do it in two halves.
@@SkunkworksProps I was just wondering if/how I would do the underside? Thank you man I appreciate your vids.

@@SkunkworksProps Yes please! That would be super helpful, because there's no body else on the internet who shows that!

That's the actual silicone mould.

and from time to time there is a noob that says: "Nah, I can do this better and cheaper with my 3d printer"... and we never hear again from him.
That doesn't even look like Darth Vader because you didn't paint it Black
