I really don't know if this was intentional or not, but it almost seems as though the costume department was progressively "softening" Vader's look as he skewed closer to redemption. Raising the helmet to reveal more "eyebrow" makes him look kinder.
ROTJ, only because of the suit. I like the finer and more obvious details with the suit such as the neck chain and rivet on the belt which go with clean and shiny. Thanks for this series! - GV Vader
while the newer helmets are of course cleaner and more stylish, I still find the "A New Hope" version to be the best overall. It looks more menacing and indeed "battle-hardened" - the new helmets still have a great 'evil' vibe to them, but they also lean towards more of a 'non-combat-service-member' look. ;)
I prefer the rough edges of the ANH helmet followed by the sculpt of the ESB. But, the extra interior detail and workings of the reveal helmet ( removed by Luke to reveal Vader's face) is a special moment for the helmet, making ROTJ my favorite.
Video editing would have greatly benefited with a side by side comparison of the details. Really appreciate the content just feel like it could’ve been A+ material if the verbal comparisons were backed up by visual close ups of both helmet differences simultaneously, or at least cutting from one to the other, rather than relying on the audiences memory.
I'm new here... I'm not a pro like you guys but... both looks so real, so accurate and obviously worked with detail and passion. I will buy one for sure !!
Would love to see you do ep3, rogue 1 and kenobi helmets if there’s any differences there, I know they went stupid with ep3 and made it totally symmetrical which was stupid given that it was meant to be a helmet from before the originals so it made no sense for it to be symmetrical and not slightly off
It's super hard to tell from video but I've overheard from somewhere that ROTJ helmet was supposed to be ever so slightly slimmer and taller compared to ESB?
How come no one makes a exact replica of the movie props that come apart in three pieces like in the movies except the black series, but that one just looks off
Because getting all the internals right is expensive and time consuming. There are a few out there, but they were going for over $2k and that was years ago. You could probably expect to pay $3k for a really good one now.
The ROTJ helmet was to convey Vader's sadness/remorse to lead into his redemption. The eyes are big, and the "widow's peak" is softened so he doesn't have that evil scowl.... My least favorite Vader helmet as well....
Yuo, again I'm in total agreement with you Paul. The ROTJ lid does very little for me however, it's still far superior to that from ROTS. They ruined that by making it symmetrical. Have to also say that your craftsmanship is second to none matey.👍

I actually agree
My thoughts exactly. Less villainous .

Thank you for this! To me the helmet from ROTJ always felt off like cosplay from a fan! The Empire is the best, and felt more polished too!
Some one said, David got hot in that suit, so he lifted the helmet to get better air flow.
I’d love to see R1 vs ANH!

Would love to see helmets from R1 and Obi-Wan Kenobi in the future!

I thought i would favor the RTOJ helmet but i think the ESB version is better. The dome sitting higher looks worse on the RTOJ version in my opinion.
I can now sleep in peace knowing the subtle difference between the two
My favourite Vader helmet is RotJ its a good mash up of ANH & ESB

I recall seeing Vader in Jedi and wondering if they had not put his hat on properly, as it looked strikingly taller.

We've had lineage casts of both in the shop to paint, the ROTJ is noticeably slimmer than ESB but I wouldn't have said it was taller.
I'd like to see a video on that Predator bio mask.
Jedi Vader also has a fatter and straighter “bottom lip”.
Two very good looking replicas.
Here waiting for this to go viral!

@SkunkworksProps thank you for your response sir. How much for a esb dome to fit the black series with the magnets
@@jamesmason7124 We don't part out helmets unfortunately, I'd try Etsy or one of the facebook groups and see what people have.
My favorite is also ESB! ! !
Awesome video I’m so excited to get my set!!!!

Great description you're right if you know you know. But they look that good who cares 👍
What’s your current wait time on Vader helmets?
My favorite is ROTS helmet 😍
I think my least favourite is the ROTS helmet, it just looks too different from ANH, something just looks off about it, i think the eyes look too big.

ESB forever ❤
If it weren't for the cape hook I would have gone esb
Yeah the ESB helmet looks better.
Neither of these. ANH Vader is my favorite
ROTJ Vader is my least favourite Vadar, but its not as bad as what they did with the Stormtroopers!
