  • Inside A Creepy Abandoned Kmart In PA. Opened in 1982 and closed in 2000, this Kmart has literally just been left to rot. Sitting in a town where there are a few other abandoned structures such as the abandoned Ames and ACME stores right up the street, these places just decay and become more prone to vandalism. If you come here to explore this Kmart, do so at your own risk. And please... just take photos, video, or just explore and leave. Please do not vandalize. Be respectful and be careful. This place is not safe.

Oh! Good point! I completely forgot about that! Sketchy people are typically not only violent but violent people do typically live in abandoned buildings like this. Not only that, you have no clue what kind of lab you might uncover. Be VERY CAREFUL when inside these abandoned buildings. Even if there are no violent people inside now, that doesn't mean that there won't be tomorrow. And, even then, the statubachus mold known as black mold can leave you in the hospital. And, the ceiling could cave in at any time. Then of course is the obvious. Have you ever been in the building before? So, you have no clue what the floorplan or layout is and I doubt that the emergency exits still work. So, you may not be able to exit in an emergency. And, are police and fire fighters available if something goes wrong? ALWAYS USE THE BUDDY SYSTEM WHEN ENTERING ABANDONED BUILDINGS. And, always bring something that you can use to protect yourself in the event that you run into a sketchy person and bring a first aid kit. Upon the first sign of mayhem, it's time to leave.

That is amazing. This video is unbelievable. Look at the ceiling! All of the ceiling tiles are gone...most likely from the ceiling tiles falling from out of place from the weight of the ceiling tiles collecting water. I doubt the light fixtures still work. At this point, this Kmart location could probably never be used again and the only option now is to demolish the building. Years of abandonment and structures just don't mix. They just don't mix.

@Dusk Raccoon it all started when they try being more just Kmart buying office max borders books sports Sports authority which lead to a lot of dept. They filed bankruptcy in 2002 and it look like they was going have a turn around but CEO at the time got caught in a big scandal with company funds witch added to the dept. Then good old Eddie bought all the dept in bankruptcy and took over the company. He never put any resources in the stores. All he did was sell property raided the assets until they had nothing. He bought Sears in 2005 did same.

While you were up this way you should've checked out the abandoned Redner's Warehouse Market in Kingston/Edwardsville. It's in the same plaza as a Kmart that was flooded by the Susquehanna River. It was flooded all the way up to the Kmart sign on the front of the store in 2011 and they STILL re-opened it while the Redner's and any other businesses besides Long John Silver's opted to stay closed. That plaza contains one of the only TWO Kmarts left in Northeastern Pennsylvania unless you wanna trek all the way to Wind Gap, which is south of Stroudsburg.

@@journeywithjay I don't know if there's any way to get into the former Redner's or not though. I DO know that there's another abandoned Kmart in Endicott, NY that flooded. They put black plastic over the windows after it closed, presumably to hide the festering mold infestation that's still going on in there.
Honestly I'm kinda shocked that one got shuttered while they kept the one closer to me open since the one here was almost completely submerged. Though I've heard from numerous people that it somehow still does amazing sales numbers, even though the lot is almost never full.
This article from a local newspaper (Citizens Voice) has a picture from 2011 showing how high the water got on the Kmart here: www.citizensvoice.com/news/kmart-sues-mark-plaza-owners-1.1514865

@@jonathancreveling5658seems like the diffusers they had were having serious problems it was demolished after that from what I heard the whole building was torn down because of the mold and lack of safety and other stuff the whole building gave pretty much creepy and horror vibes i would not set foot in something like that my fear would go up tremendously that would make me not go inside a building like that I would defend turn around and go home
