that actually looks really good ... definitely will try it myself some day ... maybe ... I'm lazy ... will probably take some months ... but it's on my list + thanks for the inspiration
Thanks for watching :) Some black cloth, a slightly powerfull lamp and some diffusing baking paper is all you need :) Video on building the light dome itself with cardboard and aluminum foil coming up in a few days, building it took only a couple of hours, so it’s doable in a weekend, stay tuned :)
@@therustmonster Yeah, the whole thing looks like a still from chapter 4 … a gamble on my part ;) Having a white cloth or parchment paper or basically anything between your lights and the model, «normal» white or colored makes a world of difference in terms of «shaping» the light around the models. Even with just one light source and the room dark you get som cool results, with some colored accent lights and additional weaker light sources to add detailed rim lights it takes shit to another level :) As a starting point just taking a big cardboard box, stuffing a couple of regular 60 watt lamps in it, covering the opening with thin white cloth or parchment paper works great just to try it out with almost no work :)

That looks so sick! Watch out Lucas Films doesn't copyright strike you for that! I need to try that in future to get some softer lit shots

Also: the easter egg is the Lego-dude in a chicken suit inside the Tie Fighter in one of the pics ;)
