    Great video… something we early take for granted…. I could not tell the difference…. But I will put my headphones on and give it a shot…. Thanks for sharing.

      Headphones or proper Monitor Speakers make a lot of difference - of course; if your hearing is a bit like mine, ie, too many concerts, some details might go «wooosh» ;)

    I wish I saw this video 6 months ago; I was such a noob. I had no idea that the dji mic 2 recorded differently depending on where it is and how it's held. Learned that though a bit of heartache.

    • @AndreSjoberg
      @AndreSjoberg  3 місяці тому +1

      @@AnnAgainAgain Yeah, audio is a fickle beast, and this is true for almost all mics in general, but since a shotgun mic is shaped like it is you would normally point the correct end towards yourself and get proper results :)
      I’m thinking about getting the lav mic for the dji mic 2 though, the little clip on mic with a wire-thingy, just to be able to test *all* the options since there will be some project videos in the future with lots of moving about - just gonna have to finish my 10 or so other videos in the pipeline…

    Best video for mic placement. Finally found the best place to record my karaoke singing in car. Placed it on the sun visor. Knew about top placement before, but didnt think abou placing wireless mic there😅

      Audio is a fickle beast indeed, sometimes one have to take a step back, simplify things and try again, rather than pile different tricks on top of each other and hope for the best - There will be at least one more video on my audio process in the future, gearing up for more videos now that my "real job" is slowly winding down towards christmas :)

    I need to get myself a wireless microphone like that! I use a shotgun microphone, but that limits a lot.

      @@adventureswithnate Ah yeah, having a small wireless one when doing your stuff would probably make things a lot simpler to get even audio all the way through the production :)

    32 bit is not about the quality, its about not thinking of gain level during recording as you can set it up without quality loss on postproduction

    • @AndreSjoberg
      @AndreSjoberg  3 місяці тому

      @@ConstansPhotography Very true :) But many do think it’s about «quality», hence this video :) But it’s also about keeping things open through the pipeline in terms of not overdriving audio when saving in 32 bit from daw or audio editor and then opening again in another application and being able to re-adjust levels :)

      @@AndreSjoberg I like chest with the DJI mic 2 partnered with the rode lavalier 2 it’s pricey but I find it produces clean audio but as I said I’m a heavy breather so I just have to fine tune where to adjust the gain and placement of the mic it’s not the wind of my breathe it’s me just exhaling to hard just need to some more practice at breathing I think

    • @AndreSjoberg
      @AndreSjoberg  3 місяці тому

      @@Shawnbbeckner ah yeah the rode lavalier is a good one - I’m waiting for the dji lav to come back in stock here in Norway to try it with the dji mic 2, should be interesting :) As for the breathing I think you are right, proper «mic technique» in terms of breathing, little sounds and breathing through the nose etc are all things that a good mic will pick up, so practicing that should probably improve things a lot, as well as «controlling» your voice to avoid level spikes etc :)

    • @AndreSjoberg
      @AndreSjoberg  3 місяці тому +1

      @@Shawnbbeckner Actualky , I looked at the sign video now, and I hear you have that quick inhale sound going on there, is that what you are thinking of? Cause the audio itself is really good, coming across loud and clear :)
      You could look into using the gate feature, it will cut sound below a certain level, so if adjusted properly it could help cutting the audio on the inhales since they seem lower in volume than the voice :) The gate, and slowing down the pace a little and not stressing with inhaling to speak again but rather draw a slow breath and continue might be the solution :)

      @@AndreSjoberg ya I did some eq stuff to make it a little better and took out the lower frequencies I’ll have to go home and try it more I also do a sweep. There’s one spot where I put it by throat and you can see it really gives a bad vibrator it’s when I’m talking about the spindle sander
