- Our 3 year old S:t Bernard shows his apetite! To clarify due to many of the commeents!! Sometimes, now and then, handfeeding (or at least touch the food by your hands) is a way to create a stronger bond between you and your dog. The 2 American Cockerspaniels are the oldest and have, of course, already got their meal. The amount of BARF food is NOT too much for a St Bernard that is walking around 3 - 4 hours daily and it´s also mixed with a lot of vegetabiles.

I love st Bernards. It’s just the massive drooling part that’s a challenge. Keeping hands, clothing and furniture clean must be a major challenge.

I had a St. Bernard that looked exactly like yours. Just a note, when you're wiping his mouth, he puts his head up and really wants you to rub his chin and neck. Mine couldn't get enough of that. You are a great owner. He's a lucky dog.

My st.bernard too ate his food only when I hand fed him. otherwise he would keep his food ni his bowl over night. i miss tickle of his lips on my hands. missss uuuu soo much babbar 😢

I now have a Newfoundland and a Saint Bernard, both of which are eating me out of house and home. But don't have kids so I guess it's cheaper. Food runs 300 a month and baths run 180 every 3 weeks. Not counting rxs for one. 100 dollars a month. There unconditional love is getting expensive. Yes they live in the house with us.
That´s not cheap! Our Saint Bernard (90Kg) eats fresh food for about 60 a month and he get a
bath (bye ourselfes) 2 - 3 times/year or when needed. The big cost is insurance 90 a month and vetbills + medicin (wich the insurance take pays tha most part 90%). He just turned 9y/o and was born with very bad hip dyplasia and artrosis BUT he is still going strong :) He is given 3 tbl of Metacam day to help him with inflamation and pain.
Yikes you got the St.Bernard fever like me. But we love'em so it's worth it.

How old is your dog Saint Bernard? How many pounds of barf does he eat a week? My Charlie is a year old now, I have him orijen but I wanna switch to raw, although I'm worried about the price. You have a beautiful dog, thank you for the video.
He gets about 12 pounds of barf a week. He´s now eight years old and does not like long walks any longer (about an hour a day). Earlier we walked him for 3 - 4 hours a day to get his muscels and joint in trim. Due to less walking he also get less barf and more vegitabiles. The last year he lost about 14kg of weight (from 100kg to 86kg).
Wow! he's a big dog. Thank you for your reply, I am feeding Charlie (my Saint) about 2 lbs a day as well, he seems to be doing really well with it, you can tell his coat is shinier and softer. Saints are such beautiful breeds!
