We are trying to find those last few parts to make it happen lol. And nice mod on the bed - love what you did!

Had the same problem but we never use the outside system. So I took the speaker off of the trailer and plugged the holes then found some matching paint which didn't require a lot. Loos good and we have to look right at the area to see it.

Good to know! Do you have the paint and color you used? Might pick up some for the mod coming up!

Like you, I've never used the outside speakers. Looking forward to seeing what your upcoming mod might be.

Hi Leon - hope you are doing well. Thinking the weather must be turning perfect for fall camping now! Yeah - we are hoping we can make that area much more useful to us - have a vision. Just need to find the right parts!

I used the outside speaker once on the my Geo this spring before I traded it in. I had a den of foxes under my shed next to where the camper was parked. I talked to the DNR about what I should do, they recommend putting a radio next to the opening and the mom will move her kit's, because they don't like noise around the den. I racked my brain on how to get a radio by the hole. Eventually, I realized the outside speaker on the camper was 3' from the opening. I played the radio for a couple of days and never saw the fox family since. So ironic that you posted this video! I have heard that the sound quality of the speakers is pretty poor, so I am excited to see what you do with that space. Great to see you guys. Stay well!

HAHAHA. That may be the best use of it lol. We have a few things to work out and then the mod will begin. We have a vision - just need to find the parts! Any fall trips scheduled?

@@WinesPinesandCanines Just very quick overnight trips if we ever get our camper back. It had a fresh water tank water leak. The dealer would not return my call. I reached out to Rockwood. One of their recommendations was Camping World. It has been at Camping World for 3 weeks!

Really wish dealers were better. There are definitely good ones out there but ones like this give the industry a bad rep. Hopefully camping world comes through. They are another one that is very hit or miss. We have found in the past that using a mobile tech or an rv repair place to be much more responsive.

I was thinking of doing a security camera mod where the outdoor speaker is.

Another good idea! With the hole there plenty big enough for wires, it would be an easy mod. Thanks for the watch!

The outside speaker on mine was one of the first things to go. Utterly useless piece of junk that sounded like it came from a 1960s transistor radio. I actually replaced my entire audio system, though. I moved up to the 3 zone Furrion unit. Zone I is still the inside speakers (which I also swapped out for a pair of Sony marine speakers). Zone 2 is a Furrion passive soundbar that I mounted above the emergency exit window (basically, above the foot of the bed). Zone 3 outputs to a small stereo amp via RCA cable. The amp is mounted to the top of the pass through storage, out of the way. When I want music outdoors, I have a pair of Boston Acoustics weatherproof speakers that I plug into the amp. Sounds about 1000% better than the $5 Chinese paper cone speaker it came with 🙂.
I hope your repairs are going well. I got mine all put back together after the Baja trip, only to have my truck get hit in a parking lot. It took three months (and cost my insurance $7500) to get it fixed. Spoiler alert: Aluminum body panels on the newer F-150s were a bad idea. Anyway, everything is back in working order now, just in time for my annual pilgrimage to Telluride later this week. Joe Bonamassa is headlining this year's festival. Should be a great weekend.

Evening! Was wondering how things were going with the repairs so glad to hear the camper is up and running! Terrible luck on the truck though - glad you were able to get it repaired.
Agree on the speaker - there is a reason we haven’t used the set up. But it seems like you fixed that problem! The radio is probably the least used item in our camper lol. Having it break, got us thinking about what we can do with it but figured in the mean time - would use this one as a place holder. Saw a few people online asking about where to get a replacement so hoping it helps!
Troy will be very jealous on Telluride. We have tentatively planned to be there for next years show. It is always on the top of his list so fingers crossed!
      How is Cody doing?

@@WinesPinesandCanines This will be my fourth year going to Telluride, so I probably know as much about it as anyone. If you have any questions about the festival, where to stay, logistics, etc. let me know. Tickets go on sale around the second week of March, and they do sell out, but if you just want the 3 day General Admission passes (what I get), they're usually available until June or so. The VIP packages sell out quickly (and are really expensive). The camping passes sell out almost instantly the morning tickets go on sale, so I wouldn't bother. There are a couple of Forest Service campgrounds within 10 miles or so of Telluride, but they're first come first serve. Other than that, you're probably looking at somewhere between Ridgway and Ouray, where there are a number of RV parks. I usually stay at the Ouray KOA (which is actually closer to Ridgway), which is about an hour's drive. I generally make my reservations right after getting my festival tickets, because again, everything sells out. Wherever you stay, plan to park at the parking garage in Mountain Village and take the free gondola ride into Telluride each day. Parking in Telluride proper is basically non-existent.
As for Cody, he's fine. I think he's anxious to get on the road again. He doesn't get to come on this trip, though, because the festival is not dog friendly (and he'd hate it if he could go, anyway, because he doesn't like being in crowds). I'm thinking about going to Moab after I return, though. He seemed to enjoy it there.

Thank you for the info! Will definitely keep that in mind as we plan out next year. Need to jump on those tickets. And Moab - on our list to return as well. Let us know any must do spots! We did the parks when we were there a number of years ago but only had a day so lots to see when we return. (And the breakfast burrito that started it all was found in Moab!)

Do you have an older model like us? Figure the hours in the sun is taking a toll on some parts on ours. Were you able to replace?

    • @karentapia888
      @karentapia888 4 місяці тому

@WinesPinesandCanines Hello! My GeoPro camper is actually the same year as yours , 2019. I believe the sun did take a toll on that side of the camper because the cover over the tire also fell off on one of my recent trips. I asked the dealer to order a new cover for the speaker, but they couldn't find a cover either. I, too, have never used the outside speaker, so I am looking forward to seeing what you will be doing with that hole in the wall! Thanks for posting videos because I always learn a lot!

Thank you :). Glad you find the videos helpful! We really do like our 2019 but after 5 years outside, we also have a list of updates/maintenance to be done this fall. Funny that the dealer couldn’t find either - will have to look at the new campers to see what they are doing now. We are a little excited about our mod! Have a vision but just need to find the perfect parts to make it work! Thanks for the watch and keep in touch with your adventures out there!

That is a good guess (but not quite haha)! We are finishing up the mod hopefully this week and trying it out so hopefully will have a video out soon! But - a tv mount there would be a good mod for the area. With the hole already in the camper - could maybe be used for a cable hookup. Thanks for the watch!
