Hi, do you know what is wrong when we are missing a lot of engrams on the server?
I have an Aberration game separate from my Ragnarok/Island network. If I want to transfer my level 105 character to Aberration, would I have to delete my Aberration character? And then could I make do with just unlocking all the containers and unclaiming my Aberration dinos so my transferred character could have them?

Hey, Phlinger! Ok, so my friend and I are trying to set up our servers to be in a cluster (we're from the same country) and we both set our cluster ID's to be the exact same, but we still can't transfer to each other's servers. We are using G-Portal, and we have no problems with the server anywhere else except the transfering. Any ideas? Thanks!

Do any of these server providers have an easy to use method for adjusting specific player/dino stats gained per level? Such as weight, fortitude, stamina, health etc...

Im mainly wondering, in a video i watched someone said that you can transfer slots between servers, so does that mean i can deactivate a server that has the island on it and transfer the slots to a server that has aberration and after a time transfer the slots back?
And if this is possible would i be able to go between them
You can transfer the slots. So yes you can deactivate a server then activate a new server using those paid for slots. You can also change the number of slots in use for a server and start a new server with the remaining slots.
Keep in mind, if you deactivate a server you will not be able to transfer your characters (as far as I am aware). You CAN however change the map on your current server and retain all survivors and download your stuff from obelisks or mission terminals.

Hi Phlinger, whats the easiest way to clear my save game/player/map data on my G-Portal server. I've tried connecting to the FTP via Filezilla, but no success. I've also deleted my savegames and player data in Basic Settings on my G-Portal server but when I start a new Map and spawn in, it's not fresh and new - showing the map has been explored.
The map (M key) exploration is client side, meaning it is tied to your game and not your server. You can probably wipe that but it has no connection to the server being fresh or not

There is. You can alter the .ini file and paste it into a blank folder, so when starting a new server you can copy paste that into the new server and viola.

Is there a minimum amount of slots you can have? I want a server for 3 people, and we’ll all be playing at the same time, so I only need 3 slots. Can I have only 3 slots or is the minimum slot number 10?

Kinda unrelated Phlinger --- recently you said there's a glitch when transferring Dinos in poke balls where they become level one, I had the opposite "problem", where transferring in poke balls to another ark and then back again they gain massive xp and become max level or one level below

its not you its ARK
Add a mod such as "Loot Sense" to your server, it wont break the game, it will just make other "qualities" of loot available in drops, up to Ascended (but ascended will be pretty rare)

Im currently running an Ark server from g-portal and I cannot get mods to work on it, Everything is fine without mods but WITH mods I get timeout when trying to join, no clue whats wrong since im trying to only go with structures plus. I tried getting help from gportal but their support is garbage.

Anyone looking from now. It takes ages to show. Ages. Just wait an it’ll appear then when you’re in it you can tweak settings on another device and the server will reset with minutes. Word of warning though, it’s not worth it. I bought the server 3 weeks ago and that was when I stopped playing ark. In 8 weeks we had put about 500+ hours in each on official servers. Once I got the server the magic had gone 🤷🏼♂️

If you use Filezilla you can download the save files from your current provider and then install them on the GPortal server

Enter the name of your server and Make sure the filter on the bottom left is PC dedicated and you’ve ticked both boxes on top of it if there is a password

Hey, in this case (normally) the PlayerResistance's value is too high. To get less damage, set this option to lower than 1!
what would be easier - hosting a dedicated server on my ps4 and playing on my ps5 or getting g-portal?
Personally I would advice G-Portal. PS4 player here who mainly plays SP due to lack of time. Recently decided to go with a server as I like the fact time progresses even though I'm offline.
The prices are quite cheap, went with 2 servers in a cluster. One as my main server, the other I can change maps on to tame dino's from all the different maps.
Also the upside for a server (assume dedicated server allows the same) is you can always pick-up structures (like S+). A setting not available on SP.
If time progress while offline isnt a thing you are interested in. You couls of course first try to host on PS4, connect on PS5. No experience on the matter but ARK is quite resource heavy, so you might experience some RAM lag as PS4 isnt the most powerful system. G-Portal doesnt have this issue.
One tip when going with G-Portal and you are in Europe, is to do a tracert on a laptop to one of the IP's in both England as Germany to check for the best connection. Chances are that a tracert to England has a better outcome then Germany, although you are closer geographically to Germany.

Also another thing, IDK if dedicated server on PS4 allows it, but through G-Portal (any server host for that matter) you can access the .ini files which allows you for example to up the amount of Engram points you receive. As a solo player I wont be able to get all the engrams which annoys me. Alternatives are to get all the BP's from drops, to mindwipe constantly, cheats like giveengrams but have to be put in every time + feels to cheaty. So through .ini files I just upped the amount of Engram points you receive at every level. You can even change them while being already almost leveled to max.

The only reason for this was because I wanted to do a cluster where I could edit the stack sizes and play with my friends - I will definitely try g-portal out. Another question though - if I wanted to include all the maps in a cluster, would it be any additional charge or just editing the settings?

As far as stack sizes, haven't tested it myself but did hear ot sometimes can become wonky. The amount of posts about it was limited though, so I expect you will be good.
For a cluster:
Let's say you want to play on all the non-canon/DLC maps (9) you have 2 options:
1. Get a cluster with 9 servers (1 server per map). This allows you easy transfer to each map, allows for base building on each map, etc.
However with 9 maps and thus 9 servers, a required minimum of 10 slots per server (absolute minimum, even though you might only use 4 at one time) this can rack up a hefty monthly charge which I couldnt justify using only 1 slot at one time even though I have to rent 90 slots in total.
2. 2nd option is to rent 2 or 3 servers. Set up 1 or 2 servers/maps as your home server, build up your bases etc. Use the last server as the server you use to transfer over to the other 7-8 maps. After your installation of the server you only have to login the G-Portal admin dashboard (can even add your friends as admins with their own account) and change the map of that server with like 2 clicks. Then you just transfer to that server in-game. All this takes like less then a minute.
The only thing I havent tested yet but did read up on, is what happens if you transferred over to, lets say, abberration, build a base and then switch that server to Genesis. G-Portal works with save files, what I read is that you can just load a save file of that particular map and all your builds should be there. But like I said, havent tested it myself personally, thats the reason atm the moment I only use the 3rd server to tame map specific dinos and bring back over to my 1st or 2nd server.
But from what I read, it should work, just can't provide you with first hand experience on this.
