Byron, your videos are amazing, and I’m loving the Artis Opus brushes. Question: how do you clean the paint off of a Series D brushes mid-session after stippling a base coat onto the mini?
Hey man, this was really great !! Say, do you think you could do something similar with the custodes big vehicles like the calladius or the telemon? I must say I'm not too sure how to do them (Maybe a drybrush of gehennas gold after having shaded a retributor armor priming with some reikland fleshshade.

Newbie here. Love your content. I am trying to replicate this on my rhino and it isn’t coming out right. There is a ton of texture and the blends are just not smooth. Am I using too much paint? Not enough moisture? Do I need to be more patient between coats?
Hey dude, thanks :). Which size D are you using bud, and how many drops in the dampening pad? Let us know in another comment (not a reply, they get lost)

I have heard how extreme your last year or two have been, dude. Jason from Pro Acryl told me of the horror stories! It's a good idea, you can always put it out there, and scoop to dry source. Watching you do this work makes me feel like I should just hire you instead of even trying😅
Nahhh! Just pop me on in the background, and follow along, take your time, ejnoy it, and you'll surprise yourself!
Confirm, anyone can do this,. Just finished my red Bloody Rose Rhino by stippling/drybrush without previous exprience and it turned out great!
Yes, Jarek! Can you share pictures with us on socials or something? We always like seeing it :)
@@ArtisOpus pushed you a DM on Insta :)
Hey where did you get that picture in the background from? I love Magnus! Also GREAT tips on painting vehicles. Thank you!
I would like to see both, at some point, would be Imperial Fists and Iron Warriors tanks.
Oooo. Any excuse for metallics is a good one, imo. And metallics AND hazards is the best.
Byron, your videos are amazing, and I’m loving the Artis Opus brushes. Question: how do you clean the paint off of a Series D brushes mid-session after stippling a base coat onto the mini?
Can you get these same colours on a marine?
Hey man, this was really great !! Say, do you think you could do something similar with the custodes big vehicles like the calladius or the telemon? I must say I'm not too sure how to do them (Maybe a drybrush of gehennas gold after having shaded a retributor armor priming with some reikland fleshshade.
Sure we can touch on some in the future, for now check out the gold stormcast we painted, that's exactly where I would start :)
@@ArtisOpus tanks man, I'll be waiting for it !!!
What colours would you suggest for using this techniques on an onager dunecrawler with the mars colour scheme?
I'd love to see the method applied to some other common transports or vehicles. I like the necron scythe tutorial, be interested to see some Ork buggies/trukks or tau
Also love to see some weathering etc
We will definitely get to weathering soon, thanks for the other one, orks have been neglected!
Do you think i could replace the blues in this video with green? I'm prepping to paint a rhino for my first army, Salamanders, and i'm lookin for a good way to paint a vehicle quickly and easily
Absolutely, we have that exact video on the channel :D
@@ArtisOpus bitchin, thank you very much
How would you tackle this for Dark Angels?
Would love to see a White Scars vehicle (Stormraven 🤞) without airbrush 😁
Dry brush, the skill of the 90s!
I'd like a Salamander tank. I'd also like to see drybrushing on a different smooth surface, AoS fangmora eel would be nice.
Ooo. Well that's an excuse for something megaaa bright, which you know I love, consider me tempted!
Also looks insane weathered, mud on lime green... 🥰
What exactly is the pot you're poking your drybrush in? The glass/transparent one?
Hey dude, it is our dampening pad, an important part of our technique, and we achieve such smooth results.
Check out our flawless blends, and complete guide to drybrushing videos.
@@ArtisOpus thanks mate will definitely do! I love your content so far! I'm going to use these techniques at my 3 flecuent gnarlmaws and if it's works then I will try it at my chaos gargant.
@@LiamSinister We have a Gargant on the channel, and I painted Gnarlmaws at Adepticon, it works a treat! Best of luck, my dude :)
what green would you use to paint a dark angels vehicle?
Perhaps we will just have to find out!
Yes yes yes, can’t wait to do this on my fleet Of tanks
Yes! Share your experiences with us dude, good luck :)
I tried this technique and it gave a very rough texture that doesn't match the smooth paint I already have down. Is there any way of avoiding this or something that I did wrong?
As a newcomer to this channel, what is that grey bead pad he was using? I am new to drybrushing so I haven’t seen this used
Hey dude, check out our complete guide to drybrushing, and flawless blends video, both cover the dampening pad (which introduces moisture) really comprehensively :)
@@ArtisOpus I never got the chance to respond back due to some real life stuff taking my attention for a long while, but thank you very much!! I am intending to give this a proper shake when everything settles down.
Man I use and love your techniques and brushes but living here in Arizona it is so DAMN dry here I can't get away with plopping paint on the texture palette its dry within probably a few minutes, I have taken to using my wet palette but it's a bit tricky trying to moosh it blends around. Great stuff as always!
I have heard how extreme your last year or two have been, dude. Jason from Pro Acryl told me of the horror stories!
It's a good idea, you can always put it out there, and scoop to dry source.
Have you tried a humidifier in your painting area? It's not always temp, but humidity, they're about 30bucks, and you just top them up with water, charge from usb generally, plus good for your body.
@@ArtisOpus honestly I've considered the humidfier and as of this moment its getting added to the cart haha. Its plenty cool in my house, so its 100% humidity (lack of) that's my issue. Thanks!
@@mactheknife801 No worries dude! Let us know how it goes in our next vid, interesting to find out if it makes a difference!
I was really hoping to catch this as a live stream but my time zone makes it to late but I really want to ask how you would use this kind a technique with metallic silver? I have GK and any time I try this the silver seems to cover too well and I don’t get the fades and transitions?
Love the channel and brushes
Just mix more black in with the beginning steps, and don't be afraid to go back in and stipple shadows/use washes
Check out imperial knight metallics vid
Yeah ok I’ll give it a shot, thanks!
Noob question, what's the pad thing?
It's our dampening-pad, dude :). Not a worry!
It's used to introduce a small and predictable amount of moisture to the painting process before, during, and after, it's how we manage to keep things so smooth.

These should help!
Hi Byron, could the same technique be done using oil paint?
Hey dude, mhhhm. The stippling 100%... (And maybe even more smooth) The edges, maybe not?
A Sororitas Tank would be awesome :D
I quite like a couple of theirs, tbf
