The Super Nintendo version was the only version that did that right while the other 3 versions just say Scorpion. I've done the Arcade, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis & Sega CD versions of this game.
THe music on the SNES is a cut down version of the arcade. Sega CD is arcade and the mega drive is nothing like the arcade unless you get a hacked version that play redbook audio via the mega cd.
FUN FACT: This is the only Super NES port of Mortal Kombat that actually look arcade accurate. They even got the names correctly imprinted in the health bar too, something the later Super NES ports didn't do. Also at the end of the match notice that there's still one character Shang Tsung didn't released from his body even though he could morph into him just like the others. That character is the only character that didn't return for Mortal Kombat II.

A apresentação desse port é boa. Gráficos parecidos, menus bonitos e boas músicas. O problema é a jogabilidade horrível que nada lembra o original e o conteúdo censurado.
Graphics and sound-wise the SNES port is absolutely incredible. It's easily the most accurate 16-bit port of any MK game in those 2 departments. Yes, Sega CD had better audio quality, but EVERY stage plays the wrong music.
SNES MK1 could have been so much more. Control is broken. Quarter circle moves that are very easily done on arcade MK become too difficult. Nintendo should have laid off the censorship with this being Mortal Kombat. At least the stages look decent. Sculptured (and Nintendo) made up for their earlier mistakes with the MK2 port.
1) as perfect as SNES was in graphics, it was still missing some details.. also, no one has ever noticed that SNES uses Palace Gates music for Goro's Lair when not fighting Goro; 2) You don't get a free hit on Goro as he comes done in SNES + SNES exclusively added the word FIGHT! when Goro comes down; 3) Rayden's finishing move glitch turns Goro into T-1000 in SNES; 4) SNES Shang Tsung explosion added rainbow colors; 5) SNES when fighting Shang Tsung, it uses Palace Gates music instead of Shang Tsung's Palace; 6) SNES Johnny Cage can't split punch Goro; 7) SNES missing Cast of Characters callout

There is some differences visually but the SNES does a good job for the most part. No blood and toned down fatalities hurt and the delay in controls ruined it. This is where the Genesis port was better.
You now, despite being a SEGA fanboy, I have to give credit where credit is due: The Super Nintendo Entertainment System was a remarkable piece of hardware. If Nintendo hadn't skimped on certain aspects, there wouldn't have been any chance of competition between it and the SEGA Genesis/Megadrive.

Nice. Do MK 2 next!😉Honestly the snes version played and looked better than the genesis compared to the arcade the snes is closer except for the censored no blood and fatalities but then Nintendo learned when MK 2 hit and dominated the home port market.

1) as perfect as SNES was in graphics, it was still missing some details.. also, no one has ever noticed that SNES uses Palace Gates music for Goro's Lair when not fighting Goro;
2) You don't get a free hit on Goro as he comes done in SNES + SNES exclusively added the word FIGHT! when Goro comes down;
3) Rayden's finishing move glitch turns Goro into T-1000 in SNES;
4) SNES Shang Tsung explosion added rainbow colors;
5) SNES when fighting Shang Tsung, it uses Palace Gates music instead of Shang Tsung's Palace;
6) SNES Johnny Cage can't split punch Goro;
7) SNES missing Cast of Characters callout
Visually and sounding the snes port is amazing. Way better than genesis. But, the lack of blood and the input lag the game has, transforms it in a not very good version.
Look on how the SNES version spells Raiden lol
Close to the arcade with an action replay code for the gore. Snes version is great. Too bad some details and scrolling are missing
Would be nice to compare the pixels / sprites 😊
I never noticed Raiden’s name was misspelled on the SNES and Genesis ports
Raiden's name got misspelled everywhere back then except the arcade. Even in movies, cartoons, tv shows, and comics they always spelled it as Rayden. It wasn't until Mortal Kombat 4 that it remained as Raiden everywhere for every ports going forward.
They were afraid to be sued cause Raiden was a game
I love the CENSORED version of this game.
Oq mata a ver do SNES é a jogabilidade horrenda. Mas os gráficos e sons são ótimos.
The SNES port would’ve closer to Arcade port if it was uncensored, fixed hit collision detection and the lag
I got the joke on the thumbnail image. That's funny.
Rayde ending is THE BEST EVER 😅. The boredon of the gods
Audio is swapped like some other of your videos.
Cool 😎👍 my favorite game
The snes version would have been the best launch port if it had blood or a code for it.
Graphiquement c'est quand même très proche
There is some differences visually but the SNES does a good job for the most part. No blood and toned down fatalities hurt and the delay in controls ruined it. This is where the Genesis port was better.
Yeah the no blood and arcade releated fatalities killed the SNES version badly
You now, despite being a SEGA fanboy, I have to give credit where credit is due: The Super Nintendo Entertainment System was a remarkable piece of hardware.
If Nintendo hadn't skimped on certain aspects, there wouldn't have been any chance of competition between it and the SEGA Genesis/Megadrive.
Right away I always hated the squashed title screen lol
Why won't u pause snes to hear the arcade solo..wtf.litterally playing both at the same time .how the f can we tell differences.
It's incredible how poor SNES version was port. Ok that Nintendo banned the violence and blood but, it doesn't mean that the gameplay could be affected, the Sculptured team made it bad. Probe team made a better port for Genesis and better yet for Sega CD.
Try about info mk nitro was a beta version for snes and was faster than genesis and blood and real fatalities but was censured , snes version. Could be superior than genesis actually the programmer owns two prototype cartridges
Yes, it's a shame that the gameplay in MK1 is such laggy. But Sculptured did a great job with SNES' MK2.
Mk2 snes was much better and Nin said screw it and it dominated the home ports as a result.
Programers have said the lack of time was a Big issue for getting better lag in the game
@@AlejandroGonzalez-fx6gn Yeah between time issues and censorship restraints that unfortunately hurt MK 1 SNES, then did a 180 with MK 2 and did amazingly well compared to MK 1.
Try the Mugen versions of Mortal Kombat, there's so many of them, you will be blown away
ARCADE: Raiden , SNES: Rayden
A shame MK1 on the SNES was plagued with the decision to not include the harder content. The game itself is more refined than the Genesis version and looks 10x better as well.
Mortal Kombat 1
ARCADE WINS
SNES Good Graphics not Arcade perfect ports, there's no blood + all the fatality without blood, that's was a big shame for snes version even the soundtrack look great just like Arcade and the sound effects very close to the Arcade, the Gameplay is excellent + fun to play.
SNES port would been perfect if it wasn't for the damn censorship!
Nice. Do MK 2 next!😉Honestly the snes version played and looked better than the genesis compared to the arcade the snes is closer except for the censored no blood and fatalities but then Nintendo learned when MK 2 hit and dominated the home port market.
Sega genesis vs arcade ...cuando puedas
Snes master pieces
The only thing I liked about the SNES version was the infinite juggling in the corner. The rest of the gameplay was terrible.
Arcade, no censoreship.
Snes Ports: MK1 is better than SF II vanilla 🤣👏🏼
Martial Arts are not real. The winner of a fight is always determined by weight.
PC Dos version is closest to arcade, more than Snes easy just take a look
Arcade MK1 (1992) = Decent
SNES MK1 (1992) = Meh
Yep. I already know that people are going to cite the blood code on Genesis.
Curiosamente poderia ser a melhor
versão casseira dos anos 1990 se
não fosse a falta de violência e
a jogabilidade Horrível tinha tudo
Para ser a melhor versão se não
Foce a jogabilidade infelizmente
Snes tudo duro kkkk
