I have thought for years that Kody Brown was gay!! The only time i have seen him cry on the show is when his "best friend " was leaving the wedding. He has always tried to appear as a real manly man, when he actually is a joke.

I don't think they are ALL gay. Obviously, there are going to be some gay men in polygamous relationships because the demographics shake out that way, but not all. I think a bigger issue is that they marry (or, "marry") women who they aren't physically, emotionally, or intellectually attracted to. On top of that, they are big time misogynists, so obviously they are going to treat their "wives" like shit. Further, they are deeply uncomfortable with themselves, gay or not, because they are taught that their feelings and desires are icky and wrong. When you hate yourself, it's pretty difficult to be kind to anyone else.

It does make sense that a lot of them could be because if you're disgusted with being intimate with a woman, then what's the difference with being woth your sister or a close family member? You're not attracted to any of them anyway. And if you have zero sex ed, it would make sense that you might just keep searching and searching, thinking this is how every man feels since it's not discussed.

This conversation is a little touchy. Im sure there are SOME gays, but I dont believe that its the problem. I feel like this is almost leaning on insulting them for being gay, which is NOT COOL. Its weird to assume that just because someone hates women they are gay. I think the problem is THEY ARENT GAY and they NEED women. They are sexually attracted to us but I think it also makes it easier to dehumanize us. They worship other men and want their approval desperately, but its not quite the same as being gay.

I'm polyamorous. The main core of our family is myself and my husband. We've had a girlfriend, now I have a boyfriend. It's never planned with us, it just kinda... happens. Amanda, I know you haven’t watched all of the show, but in the more recent seasons of Sister Wives that first clip of Kody is major tea.
Ok so, Kody was super super strict about COVID rules, like even stricter than the CDC guidelines. Ok cool staying safe, BUT he used this to neglect/practically abandon his kids with the original 3 wives.
Ok so Kody was ruining his relationship with many of his children because of how strict he was about COVID. During COVID, Ysabel (daughter with Christine) needed to get surgery for her scoliosis, which she had been suffering from for literal years. Her case was pretty extreme. They had to fly to Baltimore for the surgery, so Kody was like yeah I can’t go cause of the virus. Caused lots of issues, hurt his daughter by doing this. Then a couple months later his friend is getting married and he’s asked to officiate. So he breaks his own rules to go to his buddy’s wedding, which he had to travel for, but not when his daughter needs to get major spinal surgery. And he never seemed to understand why this hurt his kid and Christine.

You should really watch the full series of seeking sister wife, seeking brother husband, and 5 wives. I’ve seen all of them. I think reaction videos for episodes or just videos of you talking about what you think with some clips would be really interesting.

I once shared a man with another woman. I did not mind because I was having another relationship too, so it seemed fair. In the end, I left this man whp was having this extra reationship. Reflecting upon it: I was a bit of a coward about leaving him, because he was a lovely guy, but I really did not care for him in that way anymore. I was young, a student without much care in the world and trying things out. Full blown polygamy commitments? Hell no, especially the commitment bit lol.

There's even an episode of Sister wives where they have a reunion with kodys high school peers and they're all shocked bc they Always thought he was gay. That's part of a lot of misogyny too. Resentment of women bc they feel they have to put up with them instead of being happy, etc. I absolutely think Daniel Kingston is gay. I saw an interview with Val and he talked about how Daniel said he could "fix the gay" for him as if he had experience repressing it himself. Just saying 🤷

I’ve dated two guys that turned out to be gay. Both chronic cheaters, always talked down about women and gay people and it all made sense in the end.
I only watched a couple epsiodes on Sister Wives and they went somewhere, maybe high school reunion? Anyway the people they talked to said they thought Kody was gay and were surprised he had ao many wives.
In polyamory the people don’t have to all be intimate with each other. There’s different relationship types, so yes absolutely 3 people could totally all be together with each other (I think that’s called a triad or a throuple), but 2 people could each be dating a 3rd person and not each other. That’s called a V, and I would say it’s most similar to polygamy, but it can and is practiced by people of any gender. So 3 women could be in a V or 3 non binary people for example.
One reason people may choose to be polyamorous is time commitment: if they work long hours and don’t spend much time with their partner(s) it makes sense that the partner(s) would have time to spend with other partners. On the other hand there’s people who want to spend loads of time with their partner(s) and having 2 or 3 means more people to spend time with. Also some people prefer just romance and no physical intimacy or the opposite, so having nontraditional relationship structures can help everyone to feel supported and get their needs met.
I personally don’t care how people do their relationships as long as everyone is consenting adults and any children are loved, supported and looked after properly.

most people in controlling religious organizations are sexually frustrated someway or another.... sexuality is so broad and diverse and is connected to personality and emotions and body/sensory variations unique to every person. religion tries to tell people what is right and wrong with sex. this inevitably leads to sexual repression, fear, shame of ones bodies and wants and needs and what turns them on. it also shapes what ends up turning people on and thus, we get deviance

I have thought that Kody might be demisexual. In an early episode when the show went to the town Kody grew up in, this one woman he went to high school with said she assumed he was gay, but it was purely based on stereotypes. That said, he seemed to be attracted to Meri, Janelle, and Robyn, yet found Christine repulsive. I just assumed that was bc he formed emotional connections with them that led to physical attraction, and never liked Christine so he never formed sn attraction to her. This would also be why he stopped being attracted to Meri once their emotional bond died, yet he never stopped being attracted to Robyn and Janelle bc he had strong emotional connections to them. Kody was still trying to get Janelle back at least until before they lost their son.
how do they know it was God talking to them telling them what to do and not the devil? Do any of the wives ever just flip out one day and snap and say or do things forbidden ON PURPOSE like murder or torture of the dude?
