🥰Love Matlacha ! I lost a flip flop walking (kinda) back from Bert’s to our vacation place - good times 😂Glad to see the area being rebuilt after the hurricane
@@AdventuresofHappyOurs I have taken my boat there a few times but it was for fishing. I never docked and dined in Bokeelia. It is a nice area and If your boat can handle it Pass by Little Bokeelia island/Burgess Island. Its got a lot of history but its privately owned so you can only look from your boat. the 1920's manor is beautiful to see from the water.
They’re working on it. Looks like they are remodeling and expanding the outdoor area as well. I’d say they’ll be open by late spring. It’s one of our favorite places, too.
I love your Boat. The old 27 foot regal with a I/O I used to have could barely get up on a plane. Nowhere is near as fast as yours with a outboard. as you know up here in the Northeast it’s rare to see a boat that size with a outboard and more rare to see one with multiple outboards
Miceli's! One of my favorite restaurants. Love the videos as we are fellow Cape Coral residents. My wife and I just bought a house in Cape Coral last October on the canal. Absolutely love it there. We are located south of Vets, and a mile south from Torch'd on 26th Pl. We got the almost perfect place, wrap around dock lift and big lanai with hot tub and pool. Only bummer we got, but are willing to deal with, we got one bridge that will mean we have to find place for the eventual big boat. But at the moment we can deal with renting and borrowing 25ft boats to explore the back side of Sanibel, Cayo, Pine, and the many other beautiful areas. Your videos have a been a great help with that, we love watching them and learning the fun facts. We are there every couple months at the moment as we slowly descend from Mn. into our eventual retirement home. I am going to have to rent from Bokeelia to do the pass, as we have that long canal on the far side all the way to the lock by rum runners. Quite the hike back up.:) Thank you and Keep up the great videos, hope to give a big wave someday out there to Happy Ours crew:) Cheers! the Hoppers at the Tortuga Beach House.
Congrats! You’ll be surprised you can find pretty decent sized boats that can fit under these 9’ bridges. Our Regal XO has the collapsible radar arch and many sedan style boats are low enough with minimal antenna on roof. You’ll love having the boat right behind house and the ride out is always enjoyable.
Thank you. We were hoping to look into it this fall to see what we can get. The canal ride is long but nice with the Mangroves on one side, get to see a lot of wild life and a few small alligators. We saw a Manatee playing a couple months ago. We are still hoping to get into a used Princess or Azimut 40', so we can do some long runs like you have been doing. But if we do we'll have to find a slip for it. Right now a smaller boat will have to do.:) And a collapsing Arch or sedan style is a good start for exploring the area. After 55 years in Mn. I am just about done with the long cold winters here. We are back at our house in a few weeks, and then spend a few weeks in June. Definitely be doing some boating then with my wife and daughters. Thanks for the info. :)
@perfectfitboating we are itching for one but have been very busy with family visits and boat work. We plan a long weekend party trip to Marco Island with the XO mid March.
@@AdventuresofHappyOurs I hear ya. Hope to see content on your trip! We’ve been waiting for good weather and can’t find a window to get out there. So we’ve been doing projects instead!
If you rent a boat, they tell you to not go up this route. Just FYI. The current looked really mild at Mecellias. It gets really strong in there and is very hard not to hit other boats when it is crowded. From what I have seen, when the tide is going out and there has been some rain, the current from the canal is wild. Cheers
Yes we tell renters not to go in Matlacha pass due to the difficult navigation, but with some basic understanding of the markers, it’s easy enough to handle.
Been to Micelli’s many times, but never by boat. We’ll have to put that on our list of trips to take. I’m curious, did you have to lower your radar arch to clear the drawbridge?
I know it’s a popular spot but I wasn’t impressed when we went pre Ian. My pasta was so watery it was like soup, the wife liked her macadamia crusted grouper though
Happy Ours has been busy with charters and sunset cruises with friends and family. We’ve been enjoying the Regal for longer trips as it’s faster and easier to get around.
Good to see a 26xo video again. Love that boat!
Definitely a chart plotter cruise. So many properties yet to be rebuilt.
Good to see places open there considering what they went threw.
Another great video. That’s my pass to open water from NW Cape. You made it under that fixed bridge easily
thanks Tom and Brigit another great video to places that I cannot come too stay safe looking forward to up coming videos alk in michigan
Another enjoyable video! Looks like you had a good time. You guys always have plenty of nice smiles!!

Best dive bar on the planet
@@brianyoung6779 I think the hurricane took it out…
Unfortunately yes.
Blew out my flip flop, stepped on a pop top…. 🎤🎵🎶
@@AdventuresofHappyOurs my version: stepped in a sewer drain, twisted my ankle in pain 🎶🤪
Excellent vid. Thanks
We use to love The Yucatan...last time i saw it , it was destroyed by Ian...will have to try Micellis
Too funny, I just did this a couple days ago on my boat and was going to suggest you guys do it lol
Our next time we go up to check out bokelia!

Outboards are kind in Florida. Shallow water capable and great to keep out of water to reduce fouling and barnacle growth.

@@AdventuresofHappyOurs I can Imagine!!!!
Sadly, Matlacha will never be the same before that last hurricane.😢❤ We've never attempted the back passage from the bridge south with our 4' draft.
You can certainly do it at least at high tide but I thing the bridge is still not operating.
Been to Micelli’s many times, but never by boat. We’ll have to put that on our list of trips to take. I’m curious, did you have to lower your radar arch to clear the drawbridge?
I was able to easily clear the bridge even with the antenna all the way up. My air draft is about 9’ without antenna.
Great video we love SWF!!
I love the videos. Great stuff.
Hi
Did I see your boat #2 at the Boat House Tiki Restaurant on Friday ?
No that wasn’t us. We actually drove by the Boathouse to checkout the beach a bit but was too windy and cold!
Looking to move to Cape Coral later this year. You've been there about a year now. Liking it?
Love it! We think it’s the best place in the area for our lifestyle.
I thought that area was leveled from the last hurricane..
Lots of damage but much rebuilt. And some not.
So I am in Punta Gorda and going to make the trip around Pine Island. Any recommendations for a dog friendly restaurant and stop?
People bring dogs to Miceli's all the time (outdoor seating)
Phuzzys boat shack in st James city is a dog friendly must visit indoor/outdoor restaurant
@@AdventuresofHappyOurs thanks. Watch all your videos for places to go around Charlotte Harbor and Pine Island.
Tom, did you take that run before trying it at 25 mph, or was this your first time? I've never had the guts to take that channel. How deep is it?
I went through once before with my pontoon. Depths were 4’+ at mid tide and well marked.
Doesn't Matey do well on the new boat, I miss seeing him?
Yes he does ok but is a pain sometimes at the restaurants. Lol
Great video, thanks for sharing!

We don’t have the “Italian” food when there. If a place is on the water, I lean towards their seafood. Lol.
New owners since Jan of this year
@@admiralbrigitt Worth another try then. I know any restaurant can have an off day, there’s just so many other choices in SWFL so we haven’t been back
