- Ride along with TowBoatUS Cape Coral as we learn what you can expect and how you can be better prepared for the eventual on water towing you will need in your boat.
Break downs, groundings and countless other issues can arise on the water. You can be prepared by having your BoatUS tow membership. In this video we show you tips on what to do and how you can be better prepared for when the tow boat arrives.
Special thanks to TowBoatUS Cape Coral, Captain Andreas and our towing customers who made this video possible.
In 38 years on the waters in Florida I've only needed a tow once with no trailer breakdowns. Maintenance Maintenance Maintenance, keep up with your Maintenance! With that said I carry both BoatUS and Sea Tow premium packages. You just never know.
Stay safe
Great info! First thing ANY boater needs before getting out on the water is tow insurance! You can have a new boat and motor but anything can happen. Bad fuel, running aground etc. Better to have it and not need it than not have it and need it. Cheers guys! 🤙
Well done to both captains! Maybe next time, ask the tow captain to bring a bigger boat for a smooth ride! Good informative video!
I have never left my dock without tow insurance. I never understood why anyone would take a chance by not having insurance. Their captains are amazing at what they do.
Cost $$$
Cost for tow membership? There are different levels from about $50/year to $200 or so. Details are on their website. BoatUS.com
Awesome. Nice to see sunshine.
I never had a boat break down, but you never know.insurance is well worth it!
Well done Captain Adreas and Captain Tommy. Great video. A lot of good advice and tips. Learned a lot.
I have both top tier Tow Boat US and Sea Tow memberships. Matter of fact, I won't say which company because I think they are equally as good, they came out to help me out with a friend's broken down jet ski at the Westin Cape Coral. They arrived within 20 minutes of the call. If you go out on the water, even occasionally, totally worth having one or both of these memberships.
Hey neighbor! Sea tow saved me when TowBoatUS was not nearby and would have been delayed. I still got reimbursed by BoatUS for the tow. Great company.
Grateful for those companies that help us out on the water.
That was so much fun, and educational. Good Lads. Thanks for sharing.
Lots of good information. Let me work on that bowline now!
But what a beautiful area to breakdown in the middle of Estero Bay
Very informative video great job on this one..😊
Great video cap. Great info
I have the tow insurance with Progressive. Only had to use it once, but well worth it. You forgot to talk about how the tow boat guys seem to be able to traverse all the shallow water with no issues. I see them going all over the place and they never ground!
They know the water and they know their boats very well.
Will be joining in Charleston SC, I don't own a boat but if I am borrowing or using one I will be covered
So, $.59/day for the top package? That sounds damn good!

We love the Key West Express! Will be heading there again soon!
I know who's boat that is. I mean was. looks like somebody chained it up a little bit. I also have a Pacific hull.
Peace of mind for the price of a tank of fuel?
I'll take it every time!
So, do you tip the tow captain? I would think so as a courtesy; no? Did you tip them when they rescued the boat in your backyard? Curious. thanks!
It’s customary to tip the captain.
We've had Towboat US since 2009. I don't know how people go out without it. Having Towboat US insurance takes away all the stress of boating. You never wonder, "What if the motor quits, or I run aground?"
Yep. Look how much fun these fine folks had getting towed in!
What an amateur production….
lol. This is UA-cam, not NBC.
