Hawthorn - Herb of Myth and Medicine

- Hawthorn is a highly renowned tree in Ireland because of the association with the Fairy Folk - the Sidhe. Hawthorn is part of our myths and folklore and also makes a wonderful and potent medicine for the heart. If you would like to know more about it, see below.

Hawthorn growing alone is regarded as a Fairy tree and great caution must be taken - do not damage or harm it or remove any part of such a tree.
Hawthorns in the hedgerow offer great heart medicine. You can take a Hawthorn medicine for courage, to feel brave and face up to your challenges. The thorns of the Hawthorn represent protection so that you can open your heart to others without fear of being taken advantage of.
Hawthorn is also a great cardio-vascular and heart tonic and can help with issues such as cholesterol, angina, high blood and low blood pressure, poor circulation and other cardio issues. Hawthorn is extremely safe and gentle as it is very nourishing and toning of the whole system, improving elasticity of the vessels and toning the tissues. As Hawthorn can also help to break up fat he can be seen as a digestive herb as well. Hawthorn can also be regarded as a nervine as he has a calming and soothing effect on the nervous system and often sleep is improved.
As Hawthorn is a nourishing herb the medicine does not remain for long in the body and therefore Hawthorn is slow acting and gentle. Do not take Hawthorn if you are taking beta-blockers or blood thinning medication. ALWAYS INFORM YOUR DOCTOR AND SEEK YOUR DOCTOR'S ADVICE IF YOU DECIDE TO INCLUDE HAWTHORN FOR YOUR HEART HEALTH
To make my medicine I collected the blossoms and young leaves in May and made a tincture and later in the year, August and September, I collected the berries and made a tincture. I have now combined the two tinctures to make a whole plant medicine. A generally recommended dose would be 2-4ml two to three times a day in a little water.
REMEMBER - ALWAYS SEEK YOUR DOCTOR'S ADVICE IF YOU DECIDE TO INCLUDE HAWTHORN FOR YOUR HEART HEALTH.

I think most of us know where the 'out-of-nowhere' heart conditions have came from.
I have my suspicions xx
Just what I thought
Dr. John Campbell (UA-camr) has a good answer as to heart issues. I myself just had triple bypass and am recovering. Up until September of this year I was fine. Running a business being active. On September 13 one day before my birthday I WAS IN THE EMERGENCY ROOM WITH CRUSHING CHEST PAINS. 18 months prior, I passed a nuclear stress test and received a clean bill of health from my cardiologist! I think it's the (jab)!
So sorry to hear of your health problems. Yes Dr. Campbell is a wonderful and trusted source of information. Have you heard of The World Council For Health? I think they have protocols for the treatment of symptoms of vaccine damage. They are an excellent body that needs all of our support. Best wishes for your full recovery 💚
Sorry to hear you have been unwell like this and I hope you make a speedy recovery. Look after yourself xx
@@DanusIrishHerbGarden sitting on the fence ...is the saying...
Terri. Well done. Well said. You nearly burst out with the truth! The day is coming they will shut us up. Love your videos. The filming and music are beautiful. Very Irish xxx. I put Hawthorne in vinegar
I think there are too many to shut up!🙏 xx
Thank you for apologizing to the hedgerow. We should all say please, thank you, and sorry more to the Leafy Beings. Happy Birthday, Sister! Another glorious year of sharing your knowledge with others.
Thank you too! xx
So true! ❤
I am on beta blocker and cardiologist does not know about herbs.wjat do you advise.
Having angiogram to check for any blockage
..which they will stent if necessary.Eould like to transition to all herbal concoctions.
I agree💚
❤️💛💙
Your timing with this video is absolutely perfect. My cat of 13 years died yesterday and you just reminded me of the most important plant ally for my emotional sstate. Thank you.
Sorry for your loss. It is just as difficult to lose a beloved pet friend. Hope this helps xx
I hope anyone who watches this video shares it far and wide. I know so many people who are on medication for blood pressure and the medication is making them worse in other areas of their health. Powerful video. Thank you❤
Thanks for watching! xx
I am 80 years old and been taking Hawthorn herbs for40 years now and my blood pressure is now 122/72.
Wonderful - you are a perfect advertisement for the benefits of Hawthorn xx
Those heart problems in young people are no coincidence. It's Myo and pericarditis. We were all lied to
Well my heart feels better already just for watching your beautiful film about beloved Hawthorn. Thank you Terri, your films are so full of love and joy, I’m grateful for you sharing your incredible knowledge.
Wow, thank you! You are so kind to say and I feel so happy to hear that xx
The hawthorn is probably full of Geraniol, its the terpene that we associate with roses and it has the effect of making us feel happier and "in-love" (bubbly mood) Very good for the weariness of Picean (pisces) energy. We're stepping out of the age of Pisces and stepping strong into the age of Aquarius.
And you too xx
Good Morning from the great Pacific Northwest USA. Terri! It’s 4;00am , Sunday October 1 . I woke rather early today, hungry, so I’m up , having a bowl of leftover sweetened warm rice with a touch of cinnamon n milk. I turned on UA-cam, and there you are !! Such a coincidence your video on hawthorn and tincture for the heart. I had a heart attack two weeks ago. Im 70. 100% blockage in one artery. I now have a stent in me aging heart. I thought it quite amazing when I tuned in and you are talking about heart health ! Thank you so much for the informative video. Keep up the good work, you help many people. Have a fun day ! 😘
It is a very common problem this last year or so. Hope you feel better and get well soon xx

This great video about the powerful healing energy of the hawthorn is especially poignant following the terrible news about the sycamore gap tree. I hope there were fairies living in that tree also & that they take out their full wrath on the horrible person or persons who chopped it down. 300 years of history, energy and what was a sacred place for many gone in an instant. 😥
Oh no! I don't know anything about this. So sorry to hear about it, so sad. Also a home for many. Such a shame xx
@@DanusIrishHerbGarden Yes the tree which has stood proud in the Northumberland landscape for over 300 years & was an iconic landmark for local people and visitors from around the world - it was so loved people requested their ashes to be scattered there. Some mindless idiot in an act of vandalism chopped it down one night last week.
@@sjwhittingham4394 it said it was Robin hoods tree🤔 I thought that was... Is in Nottingham 🤷♀️
@@ASmileAdayful No it's in Northumbria in the North East of England. Sometimes people call it the Robin Hood tree because it was featured in the 1991 film "Robin Hood Prince of Thieves"
Here in New Zealand I have a Hawthorne that chose my garden to plant itself. It gives me pleasure just watching the birds eat the berries. I also have a self sown Rowan tree. Something tells me that I built my house in the right place as the trees arrived after I built. =-)
How magical is that! They must be attracted to you xx
When I was a child, we had a hawthorn by the creek with a hollow space inside. I spent many happy hours hiding inside that little nest and had visitations at night but nothing nefarious ever happened other than a random poke from the tree itself.
Heart problems? We all know why!
Indeed we do. 💯
Hello! Thank you for this. I'm doing a naturopathic nutrition diploma and there are many references to herbs, including Hawthorn. It's amazing how it can adapt to the needs of the cardio vascular system. Nature is truly generous.
Yes, it is perfect for the CV system and yes, Nature is extremely generous😃 xx
Scotland and much of rural England, also know association between a lone Hawthorn and Fae folk, magical indeed and along with Rowan, placed in garden for protection :-) have just found your channel, a delight for me, thank you :-)
Always look forward to your videos. You ground me. Thank you!
You're welcome Lori, thanks for watching xx
Rich source of vitamin C too! Never done it with vodka before. I usually do this with apple cider vinegar, honey and hawberries.
Also didn't realise that you could use the flowers the same way.
However, I was brought up to eat the young leaves straight off of the trees. They taste nutty. My mum told me that the leaves are called "nuts in May". As in the song "here we go gathering nuts in May".
Belated birthday wishes
Isn't it amazing that Mother Nature knows what healing we need and provides it in abundance. Happy Belated Birthday. Your kitty seems to enjoy your new shawl.
I think it is wonderful - the evidence is all around when we look out of the window. thanks for the birthday wishes xx
My very favorite tree, and not just medicinally; having planted six in recent years. Ftw it's not so surprising that so many have heart issues recently and a pity that those responsible are mostly not going to promote Hawthorne in any way. Too bad we can't sic a few irate Faeries upon them!👍
Hawthorn hasn't been patented so no money to be made. The Fairies will find their way😂
I just saw Hawthorne berries here for the first time. I was wondering what to do with them! Those young people with heart issues all took the jab.
Thank you, beautiful soul 🙏💙
You are so welcome xx
At 11.10 ish. Love your subtlety Terri. Be blessed with beautiful things xx
Aw thank you Moira xx
I learn so much on this channel!! Thank you❤️. My mentor had a saying "I am only reminding you of what you already know." That's how I feel here. Ancestral knowledge of plant medicines is a powerful thing. 🔥
I totally agree with your mentor. Plants are part of our DNA - we just have to remember xx
I love hearing about Irish mythology and folklore, especially when it’s true! Ancient peoples were not stupid.
They were certainly not. xx
I gave up my heart medication & blood thinners 10yrs ago & only have a cup of hawthorn tea which I make from berrries & leaves.
Sadly I think we all know what’s ramped up the heart problems ! my nieces boyfriend had heart problems straight after the jab!😢
Poor thing and so young, sorry to hear that xx
Hiya yes my 34 yr old Step Daughter aswell …her job …I said to my husband today it’s the kind ppl …she had to undergo Open Heart Surgery we’re very grateful to all as she is recovering well now her twin sister and her fiancé have been amazing aswell. ❤️🩹❤️
So very many comments i have read with similar stories. Sorry to hear more sad stories. Luckily nature provides medicine like the wonderful hawthorn and wonderful teachers who pass on their knowledge ❤
Terri, I so enjoyed the film! I love Hawthorn, and take it every day. I didn't know the mythology behind it. That was very interesting. You are such a special person, and bring so much knowledge and comfort to everyone. Have a grand week. Cynthia 💚🌙🌿
Glad you enjoyed it Cynthia and thanks for your kind words xx
I just found you. Great info. For decades I had bad heart palpitations. Sometimes sent to hospital.I began taking Hawthorne and magnesium and now rarely have them. I liked hearing about it supporting emotion heart issues too. I may start taking a tea daily also..and look into growing it. Thanks
Welcome Janice, so glad to hear your story and to have you confirm the power of Hawthorn. xx
Mistletoe is also great for heart arrhythmia. Fixed my problem, rarely get that issue now. I alternate between Hawthorn and Mistltoe as one is an infusion, and the other can be a tea. I use the info in the reference books I have at home as my guide.
Watching your videos, sitting on my sofa, a mug of coffee in my hand & dog by my side, is my favorite way to spend my Sunday mornings!
What a relaxing sounding Sunday! xx
Heart problems, younger folk, possibly the jibby jab?
Belated loving birthday wishes! ❤️🍂🎉🍁
Thank you so much 😀 xx
The scent of hawthorn blossom is to me the most gorgeous smell in the whole world
Thank you dear Terri, and belated congratulations on your birthday. May it be a wonderful new cycle in abundance and love. Here in Chile the Hawthorn is just blooming, I will harvest with respect and care the bush that is not alone, and only what is necessary ❤
Thank you for good wishes. And do leave a gift of a song or flowers petals or a crystal or what you think appropriate. xx
I must say, God always provides the right information when needed. My Mother in law how is in her 70s and medication free, was just saying her eyes vessels are week. I mentioned Hawthorne tea, but this video will explain exactly why.
We are in Canada, and the heart issues you mentioned are rampid, in all age groups.
We always go natural remedies first in our family.
Thank you, and I am now subscribing to your beautiful channel❤
You are welcome Becky, glad to have you and thanks for subscribing. Please hit the bell too as some people miss the videos when they don't do that. Hope your mother in law is well. xx
Glorious cat !! One with a very old soul. And your pups, so sweet. My
Father insisted we always had a Hawthorne wherever we lived. Here I
am in Philadelphia, wishing you the happiest year ahead. Blessed Be.
Blessings to you and yours Lawrie and many thanks xx
Thank you dear friend I put off watching the episode because of time and life. This morning I lost my brother and decided channel is comforting so I would watch! And amazingly you helped by showing once again how nature is always there to help us through our pain! Thank you so very much ! Bless you!
So sorry for you loss. Our condolences to you and the family. xx
I love you. I pray that both yourself and your brother find peace and joy wherever he now finds himself ❤
My condolences to you and your family. I lost my brother too early this year. Not easy seeing our dear ones go
Hawthorn has been recommended as the herb of choice to treat skin blisters and other troubles associated with the coming apocalypse/tribulations. These troubles have been prophesied by many apparitions of Our Lord Jesus, and His Holy Mother Mary. How interesting that the heavenly messages indicate this humble, plentiful and easily gathered herd.Thank you for this wonderful information. My dad used to call it ‘bread and butter’ when it was young in the spring, and we’d all pluck some and nibble it! God bless you all ❤️🙏🙏
Always a good morning to you.
And good afternoon - we had a lovely sunny day! xx
You are wonderful! A blessing for people!

Such a pleasure seeing and hearing your wisdom! Thank you!
I really needed this today. I'm starting university and having issues making friends and terrified of classes since finishing high school 2 years ago. Thank you Terri!
You have had it tough the last few years. Just remember that you are a unique and amazing being with so much to offer. Feeling nervous is ok, it means you are human and normal. Teachers and professors in universities are just people - don't put anyone on a pedestal - and are nowhere near perfect. You are going to be just fine xx
Awe bless you …wishing you good luck…you’ll be fine once you’re there. 🌻

@@caroleyre9144 Thank you so much! Blessings to you too! 💚
Bless you ❤️❤️❤️ I am thinking of you too and wishing you all the best ❤️
I recently found 2 hawthorn trees on our property, harvested the haws, and am tincturing in raw apple cider vinegar. This was super helpful to see, as my berries have turned pale as well, and since this is my first time, I didn't know if that was normal. Wonderful as always! Thank you!
Perfect - it is the active constituents, the carotenes and terpenes that have been drawn out of the berries and they have turned the vinegar red. Well done! xx
Thank you!!❤
Hi, how long do you leave the berries to soak for, before straining? Thanks ❤
Doctors ??Nah thanks!! Going to make this!❤
Good for you!
For those who don't seem to understand, Terri made a tincture. A few drops per day is the recommended dose. Alcohol is used because it extracts all of the properties from the berries/leaves. Oil can be used to make a tincture but it will not extract all of the properties of the plant.
Thank you so much Madonna! Appreciated xx
Thank you for this useful information and showing us how it's done. Thank you also for giving a non alcoholic option. I wonder could one also just dry the berries and flowers for an infusion with just hot water and drink as a herbal tea?
Would love to hear from you 🙏
Happy late Birthday Terri, thank you for helping us. God Bless
Thank you Mark and Blessings to you too xx
You are such a dear lady.
Hope you are well Jeanne! xx
You are a Fairy Lady of the Hearts, thank you for the medicine ,

Morning Terri I'm just getting ready to go hawthorn and rosehip picking, glad I found out about the fairy tree ty. There are a lot of heart problems atm. My cousins partner fit as a flea only 65, passed out at work now his retired early, she can't figure out why he's heart is bad, I asked if any thing has change I. e his diet, any new, different medications, family history, anything new, she says not that she can think of. Mistery huh🙏😘
It is very mysterious!! Worth investigating I would have thought xx
Thank you very much for your insight on grief & fear in connection with help from Hawthorn 💖 I appreciate all of this information, and all of your videos. Thank you So much😊💖 I hope that you had a wonderful birthday 😊😍
Thank you - i had a lovely day. So glad you found this helpful xx
I will return to the land of my people. The West or West South of Ireland. My very own thatched cottage with an herb garden, rose garden, vegetable patch, and view of the hills and sea. 🩵🕊️ 🇮🇪
Sounds great! Hope you manage to make it xx
A very belated Happy birthday, Terri! X🎉💚🙏
Thanks Bernadette - hope you are well xx
The recent plague ('vid) is what's been causing the heart issues (and lung issues) in younger folks.
There does seem to be some connection😟 xx
The evidence strongly correlates with the introduction of a certain medical intervention and not the 'vid you refer to.
Hawthorn berry is safe and effective.
It's called "vaxxed"
It’s the jabber causing those issues.
woman of my heart ❤
happy birthday Terry🤍🌞🙌🌟
big hugs love n light for sharing all you truths 🥰
Big hug to you too coloflight xx
I was experiencing heart palpitations and arrhythmia and tried the Hawthorn Tea and also Dandelion but neither helped much. Then I tried Oregano Oil and lo and behold it worked. I don't know why or whether it was a coincidence. If anybody else has a similar experience I would like to hear about it. thanks.
How did you use the oregano oil Andrew? How much, how often?
@acechadwick theres a gov website that says oregano oil helps heart disease

Hello. My name is Malcolm Hawthorne and my ancestors came to America in 1630 when they emigrated from Southwest England. The family name comes from a place called Hawthorne Hill and it is the same line of descendancy as Nathaniel Hawthorne. When my ancestors got to America some of them dropped the w from the name so my legal name is actually Hathorne... Anyway I found your video on the Hawthorne tree and berries very interesting.
Hello Malcolm, how are you? Very interesting - I have read some of NH and another commenter also had some connection to him. Very interesting as we can all be connected through the heart if we choose.😃💚

I was recommended hawthorn drops by the lady who did my highways medical for my new job as my blood pressure was quite high and I don’t like taking tablets because of the corruption in big pharma. Anyway, I’ve been taking it 3 times a day for 8 weeks and it has reduced my blood pressure quite dramatically, also the numbness I occasionally had in my left foot has all but gone.
My right foot gets number.
Did she suggest other changes that you made? Diet is what we should always look at first. 🙏
@@cheezheadz3928 she did, my diet is good anyway, only thing I changed was to decaffeinated coffee 👍🏼

Anyone connect that the only medicinal intervention a lot of people had was the experimental jabs & that is probably what is causing all the heart problems?
I find it very coincidental that's all these heart problems started to arise shortly after the release of the vaccinations. Very curious indeed. I'd just like to say your video's are a breath of fresh air to modern medicines and it's nice to see someone so connected to the earth and the natural world. You inspire me to try some of these things here in Cornwall without annoying our cornish piskies ofc. Keep up the good work. 😊

We have one lone Hawthorn tree we planted on the edge of our field. Maybe a fairy will move in! Hope so! I remember all the Hawthorn in the hedges everywhere in Ireland. My Granddad told me stories when I was a child and told me about "fairy trees". He told me they would reroute roads around them.
Thanks for the info. Enjoy this beautiful time of the year.
You are right Cynthia - a road was re routed around a lone Hawthorn after a couple of road men had accidents and the machinery kept breaking down. Look up Eddie Lenehan, he is a folklorist who led the campaign. xx
