You forgot to mention the DD first step, their Nail Prep solution. If you have trouble with DD staying power, try using this recommended product. I’ve found that it is essential to the system for my nails.
I have been a convert since May 2022. I’m so glad you are too!!! I think we need to do a mani love some day!
You girls have me now ordering Dazzle Dry. Waiting for my first order to arrive. THank you, Kristina!
Great tips. I have been using dazzle dry for a few months also and love it. I appreciate you sharing your tips. I'll have to try them out.
I love it. Have been using it for about 3 years now.
I got the mini starter kit and a couple colors. Just did my first mani and it’s amazing!! I need practice using my left hand so much, but am loving my results!! Thank you for sharing!
Hi Kristina, I have admired your nails since way back when as I watched your card videos. Thanks for making a video like this! Truth is, I could have used it decades ago ( I am retired now, and have lots more “ me “ time and plan to try this system. ). I just love your cards, too...wish we were neighbors 😊
Just received my mini starter kit!! So excited to start!!! Thank you for sharing these tips!! ❤️
I have been impatient and haven't set a timer in the past. I made myself set timers this time!
Hey Caly! Has it helped? It is wearing better this time?
@@kwernerdesign It is! I'll prep better next time, but it definitely is wearing better. ❤
Obsessed with dazzle dry!! Have been using it for 6 years. Don’t use anything else!
Love your last name! It’s my maiden name. ❤
I am a convert to DD too. After wearing dip nails for so many years and then not being able to go to salons during covid, I’m excited that DD is a solution. I too have found my nails getting stronger after getting so weak from dip applications. The system is very easy and following your tips has made my polish last 8-10 days. Now I have another tip to keeping the shine of the top coat last longer too. TFS!
I notice some of my clients develop white spots in there nails, dried, could be the I use acetone to remove polish or they are leaving the polish for so long, pls help ❤❤
I have struggled with brittle nails every time I use polish and remover. I went to nail wraps with a gel layer on top to keep them from peeling up, but removal has been the problem. I'm glad to see that there may be an alternative.
I have had brittle nails too and the OPI Repair Mode worked wonders!
I thought Cathy Z was all about Olive and June. When did she switch to DazzleDry?
I have both systems, O&J because of Cathy’s videos and DazzleDry from watching The Salon Life videos and hearing her mention it over and over. I just lose patience with all the steps for the DD🥴
I think Cathy's been using DD exclusively for over a year now. She totally got me hooked on it!
Me, too!!!!💜
Wow, that is amazing how quickly that dries! They look beautiful and I love the new curve you're using (although I still love mine square); is it just for the look or are there advantages to the curved look? I would love to try this rand but went on the Olive and June craze last year (also influenced by Cathy Z!) and need to use them up; I do like how long they last too.
I've found that I can grow my nails longer without breaking when they are a more rounded shape. I think they are just less likely to catch on things.
I was about to give up on my system so this was very helpful. I will try the Transform! ❤
Oh, I'm so glad you found this video! The system does require some patience to find what works for you, but I really think it's one of the best options out there. :)
What (pink) color are you wearing at the beginning of this video?
Hmm... I think it was Girlishly Giddy
Hi Kristina, when you top off the tip of your nails how do we do that if our nails r short and don’t go beyond our fingertip? Do we have to do that? BTW, have loved you for years and all that you do and share with us. Thank you for that.
If your nails are that short than no, the DD will stay on.
@@KittyKat-jv8nq thank you!
When my nails are at their shortest, I don't worry about the free edge as much. However, after a week or so, your nails should have grown out the tiniest bit and you should be able to cap the free edge with polish at the next application. I find that having even just the littlest bit of growth gives me the space to cap the free edge. :)
@@kwernerdesign thank you Kristina.
A Salon Life answered this questions just this week! It’s not necessary to cap the mail if your nails are short
Love it! I discovered Dazzle Dry at a makers market in Scottsdale a few years ago and LOVED it. I bought the mini kit after that and then eventually invested in the full sizes. Nothing compares.
Just ordered transform - can’t wait to try your method. It doesn’t bother me at all to add an extra 10 or 15 minutes to my application. Anything is worth it for the peace of mind of KNOWING that five minutes after top coat I can get on with my life and not worry at all about messing up my nails.
Oops I accidentally reversed steps 2 and 3. Will it still last? I wonder what step 2 does for step 3…
Step 2 is the base coat and step 3 is the color. (Step 1 would be the prep, but Kristina doesn’t use that because of her dry climate). Step 2 MUST go first before color.
I am so interested in this system but I told myself I will not get anything else until I finish my other polishes, which I have already decluttered to my absolute favorites. That happens to be about 3-4 shades to be honest because I hate for my nail colors to clash with my OOTD ( all Essie polishes). Sooo when I'm done, this us on my radar. Thanks for the video. I was looking up healthier nail options today.
I’ve been using DD for a few months now and have had the same results as you. I love Transform as my nails have always been weak, and as I’ve aged, they have become brittle. May I ask…why do you not use the Step 1 “Prep” product?
Prep seems to dry out my nails too much. I have chronic dry skin and live in a desert, though.
I have been using DD for over two years and discovered that the prep was to drying. Switched to alcohol and polish stays on the same.
@@kwernerdesignhave you tried occasional warm oil soaks? That helps a lot if your nails seem dry. They aren’t actually, the need plasticity
Try using Siri next time instead of tapping your watch. I find it really convenient when my hands are busy or dirty! Just need to say Hey Siri, set timer for 5 minutes. Thanks for sharing Kristina!
This was very interesting to watch. Kristina, your nails have looked amazing for years. I had acrylics & gels for years when i was working. They pretty much ruined my nails but they have never been great nails. Very soft, peel & tear easy. Tried O&J from CZ & that worked for about 3 months. Then my nail tips wouldnt hold the polish like usual. This sounds great but i sure dont have your patience. I have purchased so many bottles of polish over the years & wound up throwing them away as i couldn’t use them up. Now i just keep my nails really short and oil them a lot. They never get strong & they dont grow that much. Dont like going to salons because of the products they use and the shortage of colors. So, i will just enjoy your nails in the videos.
Where does nail art fit in your steps? I love doing my nails and I’m all about nail stamping.
I just watched the part where you have to use their whole system, so can you not use stamping polish with it?
They have some stamping polishes (just basic colors), but I have used other brands for stamping polishes a few times. You would just complete all the steps like normal and then do your nail art on top and finish with a regular non-smearing top coat.
Love me some dazzle dry ❤
Hmm it won’t let me join, maybe because you are in the U.S. and I am in Canada 😢
I think they suggest two applications of base coat
I love all your tips! I vacillate between DD and Olive and June and other brands, but I’ve had so much peeling. Do you use the prep step before the base coat? I add Glisten and Glow as my final step for DD.😊
No, I skip Prep. I find it too drying. I just make sure to paint my nails directly after removing the old polish with remover. This makes sure my nails are clean and ready for new polish.
To take advantage of all the benefits of using DD (no staining, stronger nails, etc), I’m using DD exclusively.
Hi Kristina, you're doing a lot of scrubbing to get polish off. Maybe you need to use something stronger. I use acetone, press pad to nail, and it just about takes it all off. Minimal excess to remove.
I love how gentle the Zoya is. And there’s a lot of layers of polish there, so I don’t mind the extra time it takes. :)
Excellent tutorial on the dazzle dry system!
Awesome…wanted to see how this system works 😊
Very informative. Thank you
Thank you for the tips
Years ago I had a iridescent type colour polish like that poised and when I put it over the top of black nail polish it turned into a beautiful vibrant/ electric blue . It was really cheap polish but when you’re young you buy what you can afford.
Oooo! I’m gonna have to try that!
Would love to see the results
I can’t wait to try it!
Great video. How does one decide what shape for nails, oval, square, round, pointed? thank you
I suppose you just try them out for a bit and see what you like best. When my nails are shorter, I prefer more square. But at this length, I like them rounded/almond.
The wonderful nail guru at A Salon Life suggests that the strongest nail shape is the one the mimics the shape of the tip of your finger
Does it dry rock hard in 5 minutes? Or can you still get indents (like if you press your nail into another nail will it leave a little permanent mark)? There sorta dry, and then there's rock hard dry. Which is it after the 5?! Thanks!
When you have this many layers, I find that it's rock hard solid at around 10 minutes. At 5 minutes I move on with my day, though. You'd have to really jam it into something to make the polish smudge or dent. With less layers, it's rock hard at 5 minutes.
@@kwernerdesign That's amazing. That alone is a selling point for me.
@@kwernerdesign UPDATE lol, I went ahead and bought this system and wow, I've never, ever used anything like it. I can go 2 weeks without a chip. the tips wear off a tiny bit, but adding a new layer of top coat and they look almost new again. I find that 10-15 minutes dry time (with transform) is best for my nails and no smudging, but that's far faster than traditional polish. I was a skeptic, but I'm 100000% sold. Best system I've ever used and won't go back. Thank you for sharing!
@@hdb80make sure to add one layer of base coat and one layer of topcoat. They need each other to activate. That’s how I freshen mine after a week or so. Really, the best system - love it so much!
@@bandbporter Yes, it works so well doesn't it?!
Hello!,
Do you use the nail prep
No, I skip it as I find it's very drying.
