It might have been better to go all the way to Baghdad 25 years ago than 2003. Iran was in no shape to get involved since the Iran-Iraq War had ended only a few years . There was no Al Quieda then so there probably wouldn't have been an Al Quieda in Iraq. But you can really never know for sure.
