This is a very beautiful tutorial. I really appreciate you for taking the time to show new comers like myself how to start wicks. This was a joy for me to watch and learn . Thank you so very much!!
I just want to say nice work and thank you for calling the latch hook tool by its proper name. So many people say the crochet hook and I’m like it’s a latch hook to make rugs. We used them in the latch hook rug kits as kids. 😂
Great video. Putting the 3 prong and 2 prong crochet needles together was definitely brilliant and a game changer for doing wicks. Thank you for sharing your talents🎉🙏🏾
I'm so glad it helped!! And thank you so much. I was notified that I got another comment from you but when I clicked on it, it said comment no longer available. I just wanted to let you know I am not ignoring it!
Hi Shondie, amazing technical expertise you've shown here. I'm awaiting an appointment for my locs to be repaired. I'll be showing my locition this video. She'll be very impressed, as I am. Peace, love and best wishes from the UK. 👍🏿❤🤗💚🇬🇩🇬🇧xxx
Thank you! Short answer: yes it can be done without adding hair. Why? It depends in the loctician. I only add in two instances. When the client requests additional hair to be used or if the hair is chemically overprocessed and/or shredding during the distressing phase.
How long did that take (im working and watched 15 mins of it then went to the end) and how much would it cost? My hair is about that long (maybe 2 or 3 inches longer if not the same) so i was wondering how much and how long it took, was it one day? And did you retwist him first? I mean how fresh after a retwist if at all does it need to be?
Seeing the locs is caused by previous interlocking, excessive lint or bleach. I advise all clients who want a “seamless” combination about this before they book. Most wicks that remain seamless through the journey were starter wicks from the beginning, not a loc combination. It’s a process.
@ ok thank you!! I’m getting good at it… but the one that started them… didn’t really do the best job… I have been fluffing them out and crocheting them… they’re looking much better.. I’m still looking for the best product…
Sorry it's been so long I don't remember which exact one it was but I have a locs to wicks playlist that you can check out. I know it's in there somewhere

Wow amazing work, I wanted to ask is it possible to get the wicks done without adding hair? N why do people add hair ?
Thank you! Short answer: yes it can be done without adding hair.

What di you use to take the build up off the hair baking soda and lemon juice I like the way you take your time to wash . watching from Jamaica 🇯🇲
Hi! Thank you for watching! 😁 I'm so happy that you're here. I use Apple cider vinegar (1cup), baking soda (half cup), and the juice from one lemon.
Great job ❤️❤️

Should you still be able to see the individual locs..? Or should they be “seamless “
Seeing the locs is caused by previous interlocking, excessive lint or bleach. I advise all clients who want a “seamless” combination about this before they book. Most wicks that remain seamless through the journey were starter wicks from the beginning, not a loc combination. It’s a process.

They are facing the same direction
Could human hair be added to thicken the wicks?
Yes but it wouldn’t grow out the same thickness from the root so be careful with that.
If I apply aloe and swim through the beach water will it start looking more realer
