Apologies for the late reply, The answer to questions 1&2 Depends on texture 3. Yes a little bit when they're all even, but moreso when ends are uneven when starting.
I'm starting my wick journey tomorrow my questions are do u have to use rubberbands, an how long does it take for your wicks to lock? How often should I wash my wicks an get a retwist
Congrats! No, rubberbands are a preference unless recommended for a specific reason. Takes About 4-6months to loc at the root depending on yout hair texture. I haven't seen your hair but my basic recommendation is wash just like you wash your locs just stay mindful of the parting, retwist is pretty relaxed but in the beginning i recommend every 4 weeks.
How long do you leave the rubber bands at the base of his hair? I usually remove them after the hair dries under the dryer for a few minutes, or do you recommend leaving them in til the next retwist?
I leave it up to the client, normally if they are left in its up to a couple of weeks. Some people take them out sooner. If they don't want the rubberbands I just take them out after I finish crocheting
Aww thank you!! Yes I usually leave them on but if the client wants them out I will remove them at the appt. I double them up. That way they stay in until you take them out
It’s really the clients choice. My default has changed since uploading this video though, now I usually just take them out unless the client requests that I leave them in
Awww, thank you! I made this one with you in mind, I was inspired by your comment. 🥰 This is the same guy from my first wicks video (with the red shirt), his hair has really grown out.

Are the wicks less dense at start up? And will they thicken over time? Do the Loc’s lose length if transitioning from locs to wicks?

So you leave the Rubberbamds in?
Most times I take them off at the end, but it depends on client preference :)
What kind of attachment/basin do you use to wash his hair at the sink? Looks like a game changer!
I’m sorry I don’t have an immediate answer because I did this a while back but l will do some digging and come back with that info!
