    I appreciate your videos, thank you for taking the time to teach and share your techniques. I tried my first sand casting today, not too bad but definitely something that takes time and practice to perfect. I really appreciate that you show how to finish the ring also.

    The clay/sand I have now is thick grit and I don't like it.

    At 4:54 the best thing you could have done would have been to make a witness mark on the mold halves to orient the reset. A simple pencil mark across both halves would have done it. Takes all the guess work out of it at 8:15.

    I try garnet stone and it break with the melting silver temperature... what stones we can use for that?
