Step 5: Sand Cast Wedding Band - Using an Emery Board
Once the filing is done it’s time to move onto the use of various grits of emery paper starting with 220 grit. To reduce the amount of hand polishing a person can use finer grits such as 400 or greater.

Hello, I am from Yucaipa 💎 and mineral Society and we did a demo this evening of your prototype number one would you so generously donated to our club? I was wondering, could you do a demo of packing the sand and placing the objects and explaining the air holes I don’t think I did a good enough job example Thank you very much. I really enjoy using your first prototype and will be interested in looking at getting the new set-up for myself.

I'm so grateful to have found your channel! I'm doing as much research as possible before buying any equipment to start casting. Id love to start casting my own intricate designs; rings, charms and small solderable components for my silver jewelry. Can this be done with the sand casting method? Or would I need to go with investment casting? Sand casting seems to be a bit more affordable to start but I'm starting to think it may not be ideal for my scope of work. 🤔

I do spin casting and have only just purchased a vacuum chamber. I used to paint all my waxes with investment to cut down on the bubbles and tapped them out in the flask on a vibrating table but this is very hit and miss.. My castings are super fine and I might have anything up to 100 in each 3 inch flask so if I can avoid painting them and rely on the vacuum chamber to remove the bubbles, I'm in business.. Thanks for the video. It makes a difference when you see a real person doing it on a day to day basis because there's a lot of experimentation along the way and tips like tapping your vacuum chamber table to agitate any stubborn bubbles can make a huge difference..
