My first visit Sept 2020 was very wonderful! The Arivaca Cienega Trail was a beautiful paradise that was a safe place. I went to the entrance of 286 to see the Pronghorn. I also drove north to some areas that were isolated and peaceful. I will be back to go camping knowing this wildlife refuge is regulated and safe which I really desire.
I am planning a spring road trip to this area for this coming April, and this video that you made has been so very helpful! I really appreciate how you refer to the map - that helps me to visualize where everything is in relation to everything else. So much useful info here! I am not an RVer, but rather a tent camper who road trips around in my Toyota Corolla. Yet so much of the info that is helpful to RV travel also applies to my tent camping. I am going to look at some of your other videos now, particularly the one about the Kofa National Wildlife Refuge.
Hi ray & Ann. It was delightful to meet you at the visitors center. Thanks for all the helpful info. I was the wee trailer in your video heading to a perfect campsite just down from you. I fell in love with this place. Perhaps because I saw my 1st cougar in the wild (in my car!). Also the soul food restaurant & rv park was awesome. Got to do some laundry there. Th aravica creek trail was so nice too. I want to go back! Btw propane fills are 3 # even if less so around $10 for 3 gallons. That little mercantile has just about everything you would need except firewood. Great video.
Angie sighting !!!! She was a special soul that I miss seeing, so thank you for that. Love going on your travels, I appreciate you taking us along Ray.
Hope you don't want to come back to this spot for a couple weeks, cause if you do you will have to park beside me, just pulled in today about noon, seen a glimpse of a deer, when I went on bicycle ride, north of here
Nice video Ray! We may have to stop there on the way back. We went to Kitt Peak about 10 years ago - I remember it was pretty cold up there so I bought a sweatshirt at the gift store there. I just tossed that worn out sweatshirt a few months ago! Enjoy!
appears very quiet and clean area no trash see or hear overhead planes or security being so close to mexico town regulars have any concerns being close to border thanks for sharing another adventure safe healthy and joyful journeys ahead
Hello Ray and Ann. Another spot that's now on my to-visit list. Should be in Tuscan in a month. Tomorrow I'm heading into Kofa. Scoped it out today and the Spiral Labyrinth that you had in one of your stills looks like where I'll be staying. Thanks again for all the great suggestions.
Thanks for showing such a beautiful area. Is the camp limit 14 days? Saw your comment that you are in the Wilcox area. Take a drive to the east of town at the Golf Course Lake. There are usually a bunch of Sand Hill cranes there this time of year and a good variety of ducks by the golf course and the big pond. It is an open area so it is best to go when not to windy. You might also enjoy going south down US 191 to McNeal, AZ and checking out White Water Draw Refuge Area. It has thousands of Sand Hill Cranes. They start to leave about now but there should still be a lot. The evening fly in just at dark can be spectacular if you hit it right. There is free 4 day camping at the Draw and there is overflow along the dirt road to the south if the regular spots are filled. I do not know if the 4 day limit applies to the over flow area.
Ray, this video was really a good one. The images and information was spot on as some people would say. It's a little chilly down that way now with all the storms coming thru every few days. Nice job!
not sure if you mentioned about phone service here, did verizon work down at your campsite, think I might stop here on way home for a week, and thank you for doing videos of all these nice camping spots.
Thank you for sharing Ray always look forward to your videos. I've got a few more years till retirement but I'm gearing up for it now so all this information is awesome
Really loved the music for this one! My daddy got into some hot water when he was living in northern Nevada because he was Jed Clampet "shootin at some food" at those jackrabbits. I wasn't living with him, but the "ticket" got sent to my mom's address. Bad daddy! He was an odd ole coot, and I loved him muchly.
Sure enjoy your adventures. Question on tires, I believe you are still running Goodyear Endurance. Do you still recommend these tires are will you change when it comes time for new ones? Thanks for taking us along for the ride.
Thanks for watching. :) Here was the latest update on the Endurance tires - ua-cam.com/video/k9esJJZ6OW4/v-deo.html I like them and will likely replace with the same when the time comes. Cheers, Ray
Hi Ray and Annie! Did you have much if any phone connection? Cool weather here at Kofa now, I bet it's cool there too at your 3000 plus feet? Take care see ya!
We had excellent cell coverage. Used the new Verizon unlimited plan for great streaming since the cell towers weren't that busy! We are now up at 4000+ feet :) We moved yesterday decided to hunker down in Willcox AZ at an RV park till things return to normal. :) forum.loveyourrv.com/discussion/37/getting-cold-in-eastern-az
That is nice looking open terrain. We like camping in secluded places, no need for Naihbors. My question for you, do you need a permit for these areas?
No there wasn't any permit required unless hunting. Here is a link to the camping rules - www.fws.gov/refuge/Buenos_Aires/visit/rules_and_regulations.html
Terrific video Ray! Looks like a great place to camp.....lots of space.....no close neighbors. That jack rabbit looked like he could be part kangaroo! I was wondering what the daily temperatures were there. We are bracing for our next winter storm in the midwest and my wife said this next one looks like it's going to affect nearly the entire country including Arizona.
Thanks, here are the monthly temps, www.accuweather.com/en/us/arivaca-az/85601/february-weather/336895?unit=f you can see this week is much colder than the normal 70F highs expected this time of year. We are over near Willcox AZ now elevation 4000, normally it's normally also around 70 but today we had snow when we woke up. Was cool though we went down to Chiricahua National Monument and got good video and pictures of snow on the rock formations. Will be posting a video of it later on this month. :) Cheers!
We visited that area after your first video. Unfortunately we turned off the highway at the FIRST sign for the wildlife area. We were towing our 29’ 5th wheel, looked at the big welcome sign and continued down a road that looked great at first but got narrower and less passable. We proceeded because of my stubbornness and ended up in the middle of nowhere hacking our way out of a dead end road and returning the way we went in. So if you go there go to the visitors centre which is not the first road you encounter. The roads on the north end are not passable when towing. A beautiful place but beware.
Can you tell me what dashcam you are using that has the live Garmin information. I want to get a new unit for my Jeep that can both record decent video and provide location data. I tried your Amazon link and website and couldn't figure it out. Love your videos! Paul.

@@LoveYourRV Ray, thank you for sharing the good location, but unfortunately it is so far from our present spot. We are going to use this direction in 20 -25 days toward to our home to Ontario. Any way I hope to see you at some location during this winter trip :-)
Ok Ray. Isnt it about time to add a 3rd to your lives? I know about the pain and missing of the little ones, but, so many need a family like yours! Time again to introduce a canine family member! I did it, and, so can yall!
There were lots of border patrol trucks around and a checkpoint on the way out as we left on highway 286 going north. Fairly normal anywhere are near the Mexican border in AZ as far as my experience goes.
Beautiful sunset gorgeous time lapse. Seems kinda bizarre to allow hunting so close to camp sights. I know I sure get nervous when I hear gun shots while camping. Personally I think hunting should be outlawed, after all we're in the midst of the 6th mass extinction.

Yes, we will likely get another dog or two. :)

Yes, 4x4 with an electronic switch on the fly.

It was just Google Maps website on Chrome browser set for terrain and I change my window mouse to an extra large black pointer.
@@LoveYourRV IMHO That is a HUGE plus in your presentations !

Don't camp in BC in the summer them. :) Now that's scary when a whole forest lits up.
Looks like that rabbit is built for speed.
