Best channel I've found, condensed physics fun, what's not to love! 🙂 Especially loving the grab-bag ones. But if time stops for objects falling into a black-hole, how do they merge? I'll ask one day when I've joined! 😀
THE question that go me into Astronomy back in 1982, was "Why isn't the whole sky white from starlight?" Today, I finally heard a simple and easy to understand answer. You can. It's the CMB, just stretched out to wavelengths we can't see. Thank you!
I always love when Charles joins the show. The fact that he casually drops "But Startrek Voyager had 17 decks and had a nominal cruising speed of warp 9.975 so it was a speedy little ship." Makes me smile. I just love that he has that level of nerd trivia, and the Doctorate understanding of stuff like Quantum Entanglement, locked away in the same brain.
@@TheAmethyz Maybe because of copyright infringement fears? I think as a parody, it may be considered transformative and possibly falls under fair use. But I'm no expert. I'm sure they did their due diligence and discovered it's OK to keep it in. And I'm glad they did. It was fun.
Charles Liu threw out that info about the Enterprise D and Voyager as easily and off the top of his head with the same ease as info about black holes. And that Patrick McGoohan reference to Number 6 was a deep cut. He really is the Geek in chief. I love seeing Dr. Liu on the show.
Hi guys, ive been watching fairly regularly lately, but i wanted to say i really enjoyed the feel and flow of this show, i was excited to see it was a new upload. this group in this format is probably among the best of your content presentation and flow-wise
Bring him back. The four of you work well with one another with the perfect balance of knowledge in many similar, yet disparate fields and have fun while discussing high level science. I love it.
I was thinking about the pilot episode of Andromeda right before Charles mentioned it. I'm sometimes embarrassed about how much I know about science fiction and how much it must displace useful knowledge, so it's gratifying to see that Charles knows even more about science fiction than I do and is more successful than I am.
This is one of my favourite episodes! Charles feels like a regular with how well they all bounce off eachother. He has such a relatable way of explainign complex topics as well. Ive been laughing and marvelling at the same time!
It fills me with such joy to see the Geek band back together! Seeing you guys gathered around in Neil's incredibly awesome office is just perfect! What a time to be alive! Please keep this up guys!!!
I came to this channel for Neil, but stayed because of Chuck. You're a jewel to this community, and it's very cool to see how you've lewarned a lot of science now!.
Yeah, noticed that as well. He had mentioned, a show or two back, that he suffers from depression. He said he takes meds to deal with it, could be a side effect...
When Chuck asked about sub-space I was like, Oh no… here we go haha it’s so incredible to be a listener/viewer when chuck started and his cosmos knowledge or physics etc was pretty limited. Now Chuck is a boss, and It’s been awesome watching his knowledge expand!
damn!! Chuck Nice. -Kudo’s brother u really not only co host but taking your time to educated yourself- I been watchin your boyz since ya’ll started.. blessings 🙏🏽
Chuck Nice is a very smart guy no doubt!, to be a funny comedian you need brain but to be doing comedy beside Neil and co. that's premier leage category
Great show (as always), and fantastic to see the whole crew together again - especially with Dr Liu, whose handy physics answer book I’m reading at the moment. Btw, is it just me or did Lord Nice look a little sleepy at the start of the show? 😂
Yea, I, thought so too - but for the sake maintaining social cues it’s sort of necessary. This is to the fact most of us or other listeners tend to get bored.
A fun fact about the Olbers' paradox is that one of the first people to solve the paradox with a scientifically correct answer was no other than the great Edgar Allan Poe.
These videos and new titles and set-up are so slick now. I personally think it was a bit rough in the beginning but looks and sounds incredible now. Also, I waited nearly 4 years for you guys to reconvene with in-person episodes, but I want to extend my thanks for all the episodes you've released iin the hectic years. As someone who started the podcast from episode 1 many years ago while hiking on a windy wooded hill, I continue to this day to the best of my abilities, and it's been fun switching between the video and audio versions depending on where I am at the time.
I like how they can explain stuff and joke around, making intricate explanations at the same time! It’s science for everyday people! I’m grateful it’s rocking science with humor 🤟😝
I would love to see you on Family Guy again... I would hope that you insist on humor of coarse, but also some kind of huge scientific teaching scene that would blow viewers' minds as well. Years later you could talk about the scenes on Future StarTalk episodes. I love what you guys do! I like your whole basic life approach Neil, and Chuck's humor and his relatable shock when you blow his mind. Your other guests are awesome as well.
I have never watched the Andromeda TV Series, but what Charles Liu mentioned about Kevin Sorbo being sorta stationary in slow-mo, and a race that got advanced in technology 300 years later and tugged Kevin Sorbo's ship out to safety ... that sounds like Star Trek: Voyager Season 6, Episode 12: Blink of an Eye. Well, both shows were by Gene Roddenberry. So I wouldn't doubt they used a similar plot.
in this world where education is already almost inaccessible due to high fee, its almost ridiculous that a Patreon membership is being pushed here. You both are in a good fortunate position financially in life, you dont need the $5 from gen public, whom you're trying to educate. this is a good cause, its a great podcast - please maintain the sanctity and nobility of making education accessible.
the amount of knowledge Neil, Charles and the other friendly members of the geek squad could spread, if they made a show where they did dumb men stuff. shoot guns, messing with cars or maybe even do bar games. the physics, questions and theories that they would come up with and speak about seem really fun and informative. even the expansion in ways of thinking and observing would be incredible.
With regards to the conversation @ 10:45.....it always reminds my small mind of looking at rims on wheels and how they can appear to be moving other than exactly how they are...It's different but similar kind of...
24:20 I thought he was gonna mention the episode where the Delta Flyer did warp 10 twice, but he didn't. Would be interesting to see what he thought about that.
Hey Chuck are you okay? You look a little defeated at the start of the episode. You probably wouldn't talk to a random dude off the internet like me but you're one of my favorite comedians and you make startalk awesome. Without this original crew right here the show would never be the same. Love this show and I hope everyone continues it. Please throw in some good recommendations for other interesting podcasts please!
Who's excited that the band's back together again?
Meeeeee!❤😊😅
Btw, Tom Paris went warp 10+ and came back jacked up!😂❤
Such a great comibnation of persons, each and every one. Love to watch and educate me through this medium.
Best channel I've found, condensed physics fun, what's not to love! 🙂
Especially loving the grab-bag ones.
But if time stops for objects falling into a black-hole, how do they merge? I'll ask one day when I've joined! 😀
This episode was shorter than usual 😞 But I'm loving that you guys are doing episodes back in the office again 👍
Charles Liu in person is always a must watch
singing panama!
If you're looking for Entertainment that's cool, but where's his science Facts ?😂
True
Love how Chuck has come a long way, it shows what impact Neil has had on education. It also says a lot about Chuck's comprehension as a "Comedian".
AND he's funny!
@@jaelo2314 It would not be the same without Chuck, is a great co-host. And very funny!
Morty 😎 from season 1 is not the same as season 7
He talks too much. I can listen to a fool anywhere. I watch the podcast to listen to scientists.
I thought the same thing. Chuck's understanding of concepts is impressive, especially considering he's got no education in these subjects.
Always a treat when Charles Liu is a guest 😊
Not gonna lie, Charles Liu is my most favorite guest!
me 2!
same !!😂❤

What? Bro what
I always love when Charles joins the show.
"We'll take the fastest federation ship, and make them go the longest distance, that'll show them!"
I click instantly whenever it's a longform video AND Charles Liu is a guest.
Charles Liu is a staple of StarTalk at this point. Just like Lord Nice, and Neil himself. Anything with Charles Liu, I'm watching.
Best outro ever 😃. Glad you kept it in.
that was much better outro than what the lady would have wanted.
@@TheAmethyz Maybe because of copyright infringement fears? I think as a parody, it may be considered transformative and possibly falls under fair use. But I'm no expert. I'm sure they did their due diligence and discovered it's OK to keep it in. And I'm glad they did. It was fun.
Currently on a deployment, eating Anthony's Pizza and glued to the screen. Us Vets are watching!
Thank you all for your service, and keep looking up!

I love these 4 together. It needs to be a regular thing in my opinion.
Neil being throughly impressed with Chuck was so heart warming 🥹😩🤍
Proud Teacher moment
I am dangerously obsessed with this channel now. Genuine joy whenever I watch videos
Been binge watching for 4 months now religiously
Charles Liu is definitely my top #3 favourite people on this show. Neil and Chuck are the other part of that, of course ;)
I love his optimism.
"Oh, that's in the Bible"😂 Chuck, you are pure gold.
Chuck been watchin some RM Brown
Bring him back. The four of you work well with one another with the perfect balance of knowledge in many similar, yet disparate fields and have fun while discussing high level science.
I love it.
The Great Startalk Council has finally convened!🎉
ikr, so awesome! loved it!
3:24 Neil is so proud for Chuck !!!
Love when Gary is on, he always has the best follow up questions
I'll pay for StarTalk permanent crew be this one + some new guests every time
I was thinking about the pilot episode of Andromeda right before Charles mentioned it.
I'm sometimes embarrassed about how much I know about science fiction and how much it must displace useful knowledge, so it's gratifying to see that Charles knows even more about science fiction than I do and is more successful than I am.
Love the intro. Charles is so cool.

Neil is a blessing to humanity ❤
He is over rated
He thinks he is Carl Sagan but he is just a wanna be Carl Sagan
that he is, truely a blessing
Mostly to his bank account
Anyone who thinks man can be women and women can be men are batshit crazy
It fills me with such joy to see the Geek band back together! Seeing you guys gathered around in Neil's incredibly awesome office is just perfect! What a time to be alive! Please keep this up guys!!!
man! This brings back so many memories.. feeling cozy with this conversation even in the middle of this hot summer here in Bengaluru.
I haven't heard anything more rnotivating than, "Get with the Century".
I came to this channel for Neil, but stayed because of Chuck. You're a jewel to this community, and it's very cool to see how you've lewarned a lot of science now!.
I love how 30s in and Chuck already zoned out, and Neil said his name shook him back to reality lmao
Yeah, noticed that as well. He had mentioned, a show or two back, that he suffers from depression. He said he takes meds to deal with it, could be a side effect...
both neil and chuck seemed tired and sleep deprived in starting
Charles Liu is awesome, love the crew on this episode
The whole crew together in a full episode! This one was amazing with wonderful questions, keep it coming!
When Chuck asked about sub-space I was like, Oh no… here we go haha it’s so incredible to be a listener/viewer when chuck started and his cosmos knowledge or physics etc was pretty limited. Now Chuck is a boss, and It’s been awesome watching his knowledge expand!
Charles Liu is a rocker
This format could not exist without Chuck Nice. The speed of light is quick, but Chuck mocks light's effort, "Oh, how cute."
29:45
I felt the intensity of Neil's answer to this question. I couldn't agree more! 🤘
damn!! Chuck Nice. -Kudo’s brother u really not only co host but taking your time to educated yourself- I been watchin your boyz since ya’ll started.. blessings 🙏🏽

Charles, Jenna, Brian are three of my most favourite people to watch and listen to. Amazing episode as always!!
Thank goodness for all the brains involved in the making of this video!
Great show (as always), and fantastic to see the whole crew together again - especially with Dr Liu, whose handy physics answer book I’m reading at the moment. Btw, is it just me or did Lord Nice look a little sleepy at the start of the show? 😂
I love how thru the years Chuck has become so knowledgeable ❤😊 amazing to see!
I have a complaint: in this episode, there were too many interruptions when Dr. Liu tried to explain something. It felt a bit rude, in my opinion.
Yea, I, thought so too - but for the sake maintaining social cues it’s sort of necessary. This is to the fact most of us or other listeners tend to get bored.
A fun fact about the Olbers' paradox is that one of the first people to solve the paradox with a scientifically correct answer was no other than the great Edgar Allan Poe.
what a great crew to discuss the mysteries of our lives and universe and beyond ! thx fellers❤❤❤❤

Need lots more Liu
Hi, neil you are one of the best people on this planet.
0:31 when Neil says “Chuck” it looked like Chuck was a robot just activating at that point 😭💀💀
🤣💯
At the beginning I though to myself, Chuck isn't ok
I love seeing (and hearing! 😅) Chuck being overwhelmed by the insights he gets!!!! ❤❤❤
"Are black holes places or objects?" is what keeps me awake at night!
Love when Gary comes on. He brings such an interesting perspective and good energy. Good show guys!
Chuck always holds the energy of the conversation thank you
Always appreciate all the recommendations of places to visit and places to dine/have a drink. I always take copious notes from your videos.
I like how they can explain stuff and joke around, making intricate explanations at the same time! It’s science for everyday people! I’m grateful it’s rocking science with humor 🤟😝
We need more like this!
Face to face is so much better ! 💥

Charles Liu is always great to see him with you guys 😎
First time watching/listening to Charles Liu. Not the last!😊
The Van Halen reference at 22:45 came as total and a VERY NICE surprise!
So nice seing all of you in the same room, the interactions are priceless
Chuck has come a long way. Even Neil was impressed 3:29.
Man this episode was great. Charles Liu is definitely one of my favorites.

You’re right. I’ve been doing a rewatch and it’s pretty similar.
It was so nice of Dallas Featuring Worth to ask a question on StarTalk

Super excited that the band's back together again 💖💖💖
15:45 Lubbock is South of Amarillo! You’ll find Dallas more towards the lower East side of the state 🤙🏽
Its not that often that a video that's a 40 minute long feels like it lasts a mere 10 minutes. That was very fun to watch.
THIS is the master lineup! Get these four together often! Bring in Janna Levin! Add Kate the Chemist too from time to time!
That was a great episode and it went by so fast!!!! Chuck Liu should be a regular!

Dr. Liu is the goat guest. He don't suck, no he dont suck.
I love when Charles Liu starts talking Star Trek.

Yaaaaaay Love this show! When will Star Talk come to Chicago?
Damn, I would’ve so much love to hear Charles talk about Pratchett‘s DW. Such a pity there wasn’t enough time 💔
Neil Smiling like a proud Parent when Chuck was talking about the LaGrange points! Amazing stuff
Love the way Charles Liu explains.
Right!!!???? it may be even better than Neil, I think Star talk should be Neil, Charles with Chuck and some guest, that's the perfect show to me!
Yay a new recording!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Chuck, I support you. It can't be easy doing what you do. But you can make it easy. Just be easy. Take care!
That was one of the cleanest outros from these guys yet!
I have to say... Charles Liu and I are companions in music :) This was awesome guys !!
Great show!!!!! Amazing watching you together..... It felt like a 5 minute show....
Maybe my favorite one of recent videos
"Press X to doubt" lmao 2:08
Great Episode
I love Charles Liu his voice is as legendary as NGT and i just found this gentlemen TODAY Dec 2024. Sorry im so late!
What a thoroughly fascinating and entertaining episode! ❤
These brilliant scientists also talking about handbags. I love it. Hope Neil gets Shatner on again. Always fun.❤❤❤
39:55 I loved the outro wtf is the producer talking about lol
Amazing episode. The only problem I had is how many times they interrupted poor charles, looks like Neil has thought his students well😅
I love this format
My parents didn't do drugs at all and my mom didn't even drink but I became a rave partying addict. I'm clean now thank the universe..
#OutSideTheBox

Dream team, you guys are the best. Could listen to you every day.
Dr Charles Lui singing brings an immedate and longlasting smile. side note; If its turtles all the way down, what's all the way up...
24:20 I thought he was gonna mention the episode where the Delta Flyer did warp 10 twice, but he didn't. Would be interesting to see what he thought about that.
