Fun fact: you can move your greenhouse. If you enter robins shop and select move farm buildings and you have the greenhouse unlocked you should be able to select it and move it to an empty space.
A tip not everybody knows is that you can place garden pots into your farm cave, and they will grow seeds from any season in there, just as if it was the greenhouse. You will have to water each pot though, because sprinklers do not work on garden pots. You can even grow tea saplings, though you cannot grow trees. Tea saplings do not need watering though. Also, you cannot grow ancient fruit in garden pots. The game says "her roots go very deep -- she would not be happy there".
Garden pots only become available after you complete your greenhouse, so this may not be necessary for all players. But it's still good to know it is an option, to expand your capabilities, especially if Ginger Island isn't open yet. It may be a great use for the fruit bat cave after you no longer need the fruit it will produce. You can fit at least 35 pots in there.
@@Marialla. you can also put recurring crops in the greenhouse and put crops that have only one harvest in garden pots indoors. Deluxe retaining soil is a godsend.
i wish i knew this sooner. today (second year, spring 8-12) i completed greenhouse and then i planted my tea saplings but for some reason i cant plant them every non-tilted (?) soil. i tried tilting but it didnt work too. spent too much time and could plant them in a efficent way. this could give me tons of time if i read it this morning :(
Just put a chest on the top floor of the mines next to the elevator, it's a lot easier than dropping items and hoping you don't pick them back up especially if you have rings equipped.
Just like everyone else, I came here to say the same. I usually keep about 4 chests in the mine; 1 for tools like bombs, extra stone, and staircases, for storing tools I won't need in the mines like the watering can, and for storing bombs when I return to the farm; 1 for coal, ores, bars, and quartz; 1 for the "precious" stones (ruby, topaz, jade, emerald, aquamarine, amethyst, diamond, and prismatic) plus frozen tears and earth crystals; and one more for all the misc gems in case I need them for some obscure quest. The rest of the main area is filled with furnaces, a portable sell box, and maybe a geode crusher or two. Then I'll load up the dwarf's side with crystallariums and mass produce diamonds.
For that last tip, you could place a line of bookcases with a 2 tile gap behind them, then put something at the far side so people can't get in without moving it (Which they probably won't because they wouldnt know to) then place chests against the bookshelf. That way they'll be hidden and only you will know where they are. Just make sure they don't spot you in there!
Tbh you don’t need to get to floor 200, iridium is quite common as low as level 50, which can be much easier to reach even without staircases. They’re not in abundance, but 2 or 3 ores appear every couple of floors!
Yeah, if I'm doing the deep dive to level 100, there's already so much ore in my inventory I'm choking on it. 200 might have even more, but I don't really NEED more than that.
Thank you so much for this video . I was so excited when I saw the notification . I love all your tips and tricks and I use it to improve my progress on stardew valley . It's really great to see someone loving the game so much and making content for others . Love from India ❤️🇮🇳
3:00 Why not just put a chest at the start of the mine, put in anything extra that you can't hold or don't want at that moment and leave it there in a box. Then go and fetch it later and sell it or process it and then there's no loss. Only 50 logs and you're good to go.
For early game I think a tip that helps to take advantage of is that your energy bar will completely refill on nights you level up a skill even if you pass out at 2am. You can use that to your advantage when fishing or mining.
Uhhh… just make a couple of chests and put them in safe places around the valley early game. That way, every five levels in the mines or when you’re full up on fish, you can just store them for later. Chests can be placed in the mountain cave and the fishing island and no one will interact with them.
Whenever I enter the mines at the beginning of the game when my storage was limited (and still to this day) I just make a chest and put it beside the elevator on the very top floor. I put all my tools and valuables that I want to keep but don’t need in the mines in there. It’s also helpful when it’s almost 2am and you don’t wanna loose any valuable items, but quickly put them in the chest
Just in case you didn't know, when you pass out you don't lose items. You only lose items by dying (you can reset your day when that happens if you want to). The penalty for passing out is 10% of your gold with a max of 1,000. So if you have 1 million you pay 1,000. If you have 500 you pay 50. If you have 10,000 you pay 1,000. The other penalty for passing out is that you wake up with less energy. This doesn't happen when you leveled a skill that day though. This is especially useful in the early game when you don't have speed buffs and are still leveling skills and usually don't have much gold. You can just chose to pass out at 2 am because you leveled a skill and pay 10% of your gold. Its often worth it. In the late game the 1k fine isn't much and you have enough food or energy that the energy penalty doesn't matter much either.
3:50 not just that, no joke, iridium quality goat cheese will outsell even iridium quality starfruit wine. with 3 barns maxed with goats, producing large milk, you will be able to keep the casks always producing iridium cheese by the end of the week. it works incredibly well to pair it with normal ancient fruit wine, as both will deliver at the same time.
The easiest way to get unlimited iridium is just get a perfect score when your grandpa comes om the third year, he will leave you a statue of perfection which generates multiple iridium ore every day
For the extra tools I also would separate money in the co op setting which you can do if you create the farm as a co op then buy 25 parsnip seeds per character with the three other characters you can get up to 160 parsnips on the first day
If you have a decent amount of energy left and a little bit of health before sleeping and don’t have foraging at max, DO NOT SLEEP go to the secret woods and chop those hardwood stumps. They each give 25 foraging experience and since there are 6 of them you should gain 150 foraging experience, or the equivalent of 11.54 trees (Stumps and the tree itself). They respawn daily.
For the valuables on your house you can completely lock it away with furniture so it's actually inaccessible to other players, you just have to remove the bookcase each time you need into the chest.
For inventory space in the mine, dump all of your tools in a chest before you go to the mine, except for the pickaxe and your sword. If you want to start hoeing for artifacts you can also take the hoe, but in the early game I just wouldn't recommend it. I just always put a chest right next to the elevator, leave my tools in there, and every time I come across an elevator i'll go up, dump my stuff in the chest, and go back down. Once I'm done mining for the day, I pick up all my tools and the most valuable stuff I can carry, and then I can run back and forth a few times if necessary to get all my stuff to the farm. But yeah buying the backpack upgrade is definitely extremely useful.
Guy you get crystallaruims by getting the one from the vault make a second cabin so you can play co-OP with your sister then clone the item by both players hit at the same time Yes I liked my comment
Here's an early game tip, some ppl don't know what food is best for the first couple seasons, my opinion is that the best foods earlygame are blueberries and cranberries, don't get me wrong, still sell some, but use ur fertilizer on them and keep every gold quality fruit for food
I build a chest in the entrence of the mine. No inventory anymore and no idea what to threw away? Put everything you don´t need in the mine in the chest. Even fishing rod or axe. Before you leave mine you just put thing into the chest, you dont wanna take home and take back axe and fishing rod. AND: If you wanna mining, why take them with you?
You should have given the tips to the player to make chest. To put items in at the mines or make a furnace or other such to put metal and coal in or other tips.
Speed gro fertilizers do reduce the time it takes for multi harvest plants to fully grow. I don't have patience to wait for an entire season to fully grow an ancient fruit. Quality doesn't matter for farmers who kegs everything.
it's not like we had to be speedrunner at do the game correctly , so we can just play the game as how we enjoy it. my first years just tried to complete the community center and took 2 years to do it as sometimes i forgot about it and didn't hoarding the required item. then focused on hop as it's said farmable each day , used it later for Pale ale as very nice income for early game. in year 2 , Barn are my live saving , saved my pale ale profit for it and a bunch of cows for cheese and luckily bought ancient seed for less than 1000G before finding the seed artifact. unlocked the greenhouse and hoarding my ancient fruit there with 25%+10% growth UP and use it for seed maker later. my year 3 is coming , abuse the "bug" features of granpa grave for easy iridium ore , and with more than 100+ ancient seeds ready i used my main farm for it and my secondary farm with less areas as seasonal seed. got my prismatic shard and convert it with galaxy sword at the dessert. from this 3 years i barely sold my crops as cheese , pale ale and truffle oil actually were more profitable.
I keep a chest in the mine as well. Makes life so much better. Oh my goodness somehow I never considered using the crystal Orion to grow anything other than diamonds because you can just sell them but using them for Jade for the staircase so you can get iridium or super fast is so brilliant…
Jade, for staircases wasn't a thing when I played the game (2015). *sigh* but when I played the game we could fish all day due to freezing time, that was then removed.. not something I"m a fan of. Only if pausing is introduced again i fishing. via the menu thing.. will I want to replay the game.

If you are incredibly masochistic you can also do the community center as a pacifist. Don’t kill a single monster or milk/shear/pick up animal products. It relies on luck and extreme patience. It requires the traveling merchant.
I'd say that no milking is incredibly sadistic to cows and goats, and there's nothing that break "pacifism" in picking up wool from rabbits or duck feathers. You want animals to live in a world of sh1t or what?
In Stardew Valley, that's a fun challenge to do, but calling it a "pacifist" run is a mistake, I believe. In the real world, not milking your cows and goats, and not shearing you sheep is animal abuse. They've been actively bred for thousands of years to do just that, and while that being abusive or not is a debate, it's not relevant to what I'm arguing. You can't just spontaneously stop milking and shearing and expect the animal to be fine. Cows and goats get extremely uncomfortably, injured, infected, and even die if they aren't milked for a significant period of time. And not shearing a sheep for it's entire life will lead it to a painful death as well; their wool will attract parasites and maggots, and can lead them to die of heat stroke. Maybe instead of "Pacifist" it could be called "Agronomist"? An agronomist is someone who is an expert in soil and crops, and by not having animals or killing mobs, it would pretty much limit you to farming and fishing, and fishing could easily be ruled out as well because every required fish can be found through foraging on the beach, in trash cans, the traveling cart, or Krobus' shop.
Fun fact: you can move your greenhouse. If you enter robins shop and select move farm buildings and you have the greenhouse unlocked you should be able to select it and move it to an empty space.
