BEST ART SUPPLIES OF 2021(and one of the worst) Holbein, Arrtx, ETC

- Woohoo! It's the end of 2021 and we are discussing the best art supplies that I purchased (and I was wrong - the worst art supply product was sent to me. I always appreciate when companies send for reviews but if it's bad, I have to do an honest art supply review!) We'll be discussing some of the best watercolor sets, the best markers, and more! Some of the brands you'll see art supplies from are Holbein (obviously), Kuretake, Arrtx, Paul Rubens and MORE! Join me for a good artsy chat video!
All of these products can be purchased at major art retailers except the Paul Rubens watercolors (They can be purchased at Alie Express but I've seen them at Amazon). They are currently at the time of this filming, they are not available on Amazon US, so definitely keep checking.

Last year for Christmas I was gifted the Rembrandt Master box set from my husband and I absolutely love it. There's something about breaking out that lovely wooden box and having everything I need right there. The one thing I totally hate that I purchased last year was the himi gouache. Constant battle every time I've tried to use them. They went in the trash and I'm glad they're gone.

My faves are Winsor and Newton artist grade WC, Creative Mark Mimik brushes, Arches cold pressed paper and Creative Bee WC journals.
Love this video! I grabbed that cookie harmony book after seeing it here. I've always wanted to try Holbeins watercolor lines.
I love inktense for fabric. That's all I use them for. I've painted some of my greatest work on the grandkids sheets. Try finding care bear stuff now for the granddaughter. Or strawberry shortcake. Or Lisa frank. Impossible. So I just created them for her. Better yet, watch the kids faces as their own stories come to life.

Jane I also love the Paul Rueben neon watercolors and the Holbein Neon Acrylics I haven’t gotten the Acrylics yet and the Paul Ruebens Anytime I’ve looked for them they’ve been outta stock. Eventually I will pick up both of those cause I love em!!!!

Totally with you on the Pagos set❗ It's such a cool idea (especially for non-painters to gift to a kid that likes painting), but executed badly 🙄 I personally would probably curate such a box myself and would only put stuff in that I enjoyed myself when I started. I'd choose the Van Gogh 12+3 box (15 colours are definitely enough to start and those are pretty well curated. Having many colours can be real baffling, too, and learning to mix is such a valuable skill.), a nice set of proper brushes (don't need to be the most expensive ones, I just don't like water tank brushes myself), maybe 1 or 2 pigment liners (in regards to the budget, I personally use Faber-Castell Pitt liners as those are pretty affordable here in Germany and they don't always die on me),maybe a white gel pen (which I don't see as a must) and a pad of decent water colour paper (doesn't have to be cotton, but there's definitely more decent and okay cellulose ones out there that don't cost you an arm and a leg). Quality over quantity really might not be such a bad idea and concept here 😊
Even if those items would be to expensive as a whole, I'd still shy away from buying such a box - if any , I'd coordinate with other gifters and gift together.

That zipper bag of markers really doesn't work. I'm glad I went for the Ohuhus instead. I really love them!
I hope you getting a great recover, if I have some km on my eyes I will use all the colors in make up too, but I only have some cm I think in english is hooded eyes , I like your colorfull make up!!!!

How do the holbien compare to Daniel smith watercolors?
Well, Daniel Smith will beat out Holbein in terms of selection since DS has over 200+ shades, but in terms of quality, I feel like if you’re wanting to control the color, Holbein wins. It just depends on what you’re looking for your watercolor to do.

Haha no I didn’t, but it’s from a local artist and it’s a digital print. I got it when I did a booth at St. Louis Comic Con a while back. I have another one of Vincent Price by the same artist.
Well, good to know you love those watercolours. Imagine putting so much money into them and then not liking them. I'd rather see people enjoy what they bought with their own, hard earned money than not. There's nothing pompous about that 🥰

Jane my friend I always enjoy your bloopers. Every time I even try to do a voice over I get so darn tongue tied it is ridiculous lol. I have several videos filmed, I just really need to sit down and edit them all. Editing videos is NOT my favorite thing to do.
Looks like you're stuff hasn't been used pay the swatching stage. Maybe you could do some art videos using those supplies you have.

Yes, I'm trying to tell you we'd love to see you create art!! I bet you're style is awesome just based on your color explosion makeup. If you're makeup and clothing are indicators in betting your art is expressive as well.
