    Thank you for sharing your experience. I have State Farm and they have taken care of us but we are not under a fixed value policy. I did price out Hagerty insurance and it’s gotten more expensive. I have owned my GT4 for a year as well but only driven it half the miles. I love it but the only worry I have is the strut tower failures I’ve seen. I am not sure how I feel about the risers. The clock is awesome but I think it’s wired into other parts of the systems. I did see the guy who added the one to his Cayman but mine came with it and you can access it through the steering wheel and PCM so not sure it’s a simple install.

      Yea I do have that worry about the strut towers. But i try my best to not hit crazy pot holes. The Chrono clock is an easy add and its easy to wire in. I am just nervous about cutting the leather and for value down the road since it didn't come with the car originally. I think once you install it, the cluster will see it there. Or you can take it to the dealer and have it coded in.

    Great car you have there! I had the opportunity early in 2019 for a Sapphire blue 981 GT4 with 12000 mile at a good price but was still financing my GX460. Then the market went crazy and prices shot up. Fortunately I was able to get a 2022 Cayman GTS allocation at Msrp which is nearly impossible in California. I never thought I could ever own a Porsche in my lifetime but after working so hard to achieve my dream car it finally happened a few months back I picked up my new ride and it feels incredible. Every time I drive it is a special occasion and worth every penny.

      That is awesome. Same here. I worked hard to be able to afford something like this car. I have always loved the Porsche GT cars since I was a kid when they first came out. I got lucky and bought this car before the market went up post lockdown. I would say that the GTS is close as you can get to a GT car without the suspension set up and full aero. But just driving on the street you just notice the difference in the suspension.

    I agree...best car I've owned to date. Had many Porsches, this is the best one. 👍

    I use Hagerty’s to insure my GT4. They have been very good. The insure for what ever value you want. Highly recommend.

    Have you thought about getting the 4.5L stroker upgrade from DeMan Motorsports?

    • @gtmachine6134
      @gtmachine6134  2 роки тому +1

      I've thought about it, but i don't want to mess with the originality of the car. Every modification i have done to the car I can put back to original. As much as i would like that engine. I can find other things to do with 25K.

    Enjoy your projects. I noticed you haven't removed the ugly warning stickers on your visors. I bet a bunch of people would love to see the simple process of removing them. I did mine and it is the thing I notice most every time I drive my GT4. Keep up the good work!!

    • @gtmachine6134

      I’ve mulled the idea to change out the visors to either leather or the alcantara ones. Just other things on the list currently.

    I wouldn’t cut the dash to add sport chrono. I bought a white 981 gt4 last Feb before the market got stupid. I wanted sport chrono, but I found a clean example with 11K miles and the carbon buckets. I think adding something that is a factory option but isn’t on the original build sheet would hurt the value. All the things you have done are reversible. You can’t go back once you cut the dash! And I agree about track days. I did three last year, and the gt4 is one of the best “affordable” track cars out there. You don’t need a ton of power in this car to go fast and have fun.

      Yea that is how I feel too about the future value of the car. I can’t wait to hit the track. I’ve raced go karts before so I know the feel of racing lines but cars are totally different.
      Thanks for the comments

    Would you say that the IPD Plenum and throttle body was worth it? Do I need it to tune my car or is headers + tune enough?

    • @gtmachine6134
      @gtmachine6134  2 роки тому +1

      I would say it was worth it if you get a tune. If you don't get a tune you loose the bottom end. If you are not going to get a tune and do not drive the car hard its not worth it. You get most gains above 6k- redline.

      @@gtmachine6134 thanks for the quick reply! Compared to just headers and tune, is there much difference in power output and if so, where would it affect the powerband the most?

    • @gtmachine6134
      @gtmachine6134  2 роки тому

      @@pksahawat9037 Without the tune I would say there was very minimal gains felt with headers. I could tell once i put the IPD plenum and TB on with the power above 6k rpm. Once i put the tune on i felt the additional power. Then I put the Dundon Pro tune in and it was very noticeable.

    Did you go with the Soul exhaust and the Soul headers? Which roll bar did you go with?

      I got the soul headers and running the factory PSE muffler. It’s perfect level of noise for the wife to still ride in the car.
      The roll bar I went with a factor my clubsport look alike. Heidgo one. I’ll post the link

      @@tonywilliams4302 No problem. I think this is the best option to get you the OEM look of a factory clubsport one and it doesn't have the Porsche tax on it.
