Great Review :) I've bought it...with DSG and Virtual Cockpit....in around 4 weeks it will be here ;)
Thanks 🙏
I gave up watching tv for this and i have no regrets because it was fun to watch and i learned a thing or two from AJ. I've fallen for that Ibiza FR. It's definetely a car you can buy with both your head and your heart!
sounds like a great choice =)
te question is: which color ? desire red, electric blue or nevada white... all three looks awesome
This guy is the best car reviewer ever.
Thank you , i loved all your explanations.
I'm always enjoying reviews in which I didnt take part because I can watch it simply as a viewer then - and also comment :-)
Awesome shots from downtown Barcelona by Conny and great reporting mixing city/motorway/countryside by AJ! Don't miss the agile riding part later in the vid! /Thomas
Autogefühl Fantastic shots, looks like an advert (I mean this in a good way).
Thanks keep supporting us
Autogefühl a overall very good review!

I liked the "tech talk", really enjoyed the last third of this video, AJ!
yeah really impressive what he knows about that tech stuff /Thomas
Really nice car, would love to order the FR business intense in the future. Great review, very detailed and easy to listen to.
Thumbs up just for the sheer effort into filming, reviewing and editing this review - top top work!
thx ryan!
Very good review. I liked the way you really explain the details of the engine etc.
thanks! also check out our new Ibiza review: ua-cam.com/video/XOqPeKK6FVo/v-deo.html
Very good video! AJ does an excellent job as a reviewer/presenter and is very enjoyable to listen to.
+hardugo thank you ;)
Refreshing review, keep the pace AJ! In particular focus you put on the dynamics and the feedback to the driver. In my opinion many cars these days perform rather poorly with this respect which kills the driving fun (maybe the electric steering assist is to blame, I'm not sure). Very rarely I find the car reviews reliable based on my later shopper/buyer experience. And yours is a great exception!
thanks for the feedback m8 !
Thanks for mechanic lesson from AJ! This is what, I appreciate in your reviews! Need more!!!😎😎😎
✌️👌
Absolutely loved the mechanical explanations! Really interesting.
+l you are very welcome
Thank for a very good, comprehensive review with a focus that fit into the grownup frame of reference.
I've been driving a Seat Leon FR (gasoline) DSG 2009 model since it was new, and I love that car!
But it has 265K km on it, and I know I'll be replacing it soon.
I would like to scale down from the 200 hp/280 nm engine while still maintaining the fun-factor of driving.
I have owned two seats since I like the feeling of getting the most bang for your buck while still owning af V.A.G. car, and I think the Seat Ibiza FR might very well be my next car. Seems I would get a very nice car with all the advances made in the last 10 years; not just the fancy electronics which are nice, but not really necessary, but most importantly with all the advances in engine technology and safety.
Im looking to buy a new car and I liked this one, checked some reviews and this one was great, instant subscribing!
Welcome !!
Great review. Seat have really upped their game.I think this would be the engine that I'd go for it has the same power as the old 2 litre diesel Leon which had 150 bhp too.Cant wait to see what the new Seat arona will be like.Great review great car and your always great to watch AJ keep up the good work.
great to have ur support!
I'm so excited that I'm actually receiving mine next month!
Cool!
Excellent review, very informative and I almost kept up with the tech details. Also very considerate driving.
Welcome!
Good Job A.J.! You rock on very technical details!
+Bogdan Danciu thanks m8!
Superb review of the Seat Ibiza, very detailed and informative! Hats off to AJ and Autogefühl. Greetings from Denmark [--+---]
Meget tak!
Greeetings from Greece! Good job AJ! Really good review! Although you haven't mentioned 1.6 tdi starting price.. :)
kudos!
fronts copy leon looks beautiful
Merci beaucoup!! La nouvelle VW Polo le mois prochaine!
I have learned much more about that wonderful car. thanks a lot AJ
Thanks Jan !!
really enjoyed this review and all of its details. thanks
Best presentation ever! Congrts to our friend AJ ! In my country Greece, one has to wait about 4-5 months after the order of this car. So, im waiting for this car 1,5cc to get it around end of December of this year ofcourse! Price 15,750 euro, plus something more optional like the 18" rims and 8" screen the total will be 17,500. Plus they will give me the alarm system and the rear senses !
kudos!
Great job Aj. You became better and better. Congrats!
thanks keep joining us!
Thanks for this very interesting review! Looking forward to drive this car.
+malte0984 👌
Very good review AJ and also great camera work there.
+Danne6und8zig thanks m8!
I was really impressed and i am NOT saying this often. What i DO miss is time guide in description as it is roughly 42 minutes long.
//edit Probably best looking B segment car, specially in this trim level/color.
Wonderfully done headlights
I agree with AJ on the comments about exhaust. If Fiat can get it so right with Abarth 500 everyone making sport versions of small cars should watch and learn.
Excellent review - best I've seen AJ. Keep it up!!
thanks rob!
The best indepth review on UA-cam. Great job and thankyou sir.
👍👍👍
@@autogefuehl I've just ordered one👍
Cool enjoy :)
really like the looks, have to test drive as soon it comes to Finland.
I could easily think that i could change my -13 Leon to new Ibiza.
7:00 Two hood latches ! Thomas might have pointed this out.
11:04 Mesh pocket in passenger's foot area
22:26 Hinges for bags and rubber straps on the sides of the trunk
8:43 I wonder what for is the plastic cover underneath the driver's seat
Cool review and a beautiful, sharp car.
It would be great if you made some full-throttle accelerations to the redline without talking so we could hear that completely new engine.
thanks pal! When we are abroad, it is usually a little harder to do that :)
Parcel shelf can be stored under the false floor if you don't need full boot depth
Great review and a very likeable reviewer! I'll be subscribing:)
thanks and welcome :)
Great review is the clutch quite heavy on the car or quite light like the VW Up ?
There's an undoubtful family feeling to the design, but the new Ibiza has lots of personality.
Thanks for the video: I was waiting for Autogefühl's review of this car 😉
I'm curious to see how the new 1.0 CNG TGI engine will work.
+Mspired 👌indeed looking forward to the tgi!
1.0 CNG we want to see natural gas vehicle :)
I don't normally like red cars, but that Desire Red looks great!.
amazing video. I own the 2010 model seat ibiza and i really want to upgrade it with that particular car with a sunroof.
thanks stick with us!
This is by far the most detailed and best review of the new Seat Ibiza so far (in English). Really nice review! I've watched it from the beginning till the end. I have ordered the Seat Ibiza FR 85kW (115hp). I ordered it with the default 17" wheels, but I could still change it to 18". What would you advise? Do you think the handling and thing like bumps in the roads are worse with the 18" rims? Thanks in advance!
Note: it's a shame that the 17" black rims are not an option for the FR. These are only optional on the Xcellence.
Hi Tweak Er
great to hear about your new car, congratulations from Autogefuehl :D The suspension on the FR is already a bit stiffer and lower than the other variants.. However, i didn't feel that it ever got too uncomfortable. the streets in and around Barcelona are really smooth for the most part, so it would also depend on where you live.. while the 18" wheel looks nice and big, take a look at the rear wheel.. the disk brake and caliper are really small. all that empty space might look a bit odd 01:39 ...though a larger rim generally offers slightly sharper handling thanks to smaller sidewall, i dont think for a 115hp car it would really make a difference.. in the end, i think you should decide if the extra money is worth it..
-AJ
Thanks for your reply AJ! I live in the Netherlands where the roads are pretty good. Sometimes I visit Belgium, the roads are really bad there, so for visiting Belgium 17" would probably be better. I think the 18" wheels look a lot better then the light grey 17" ones, but they also come with a price. I think I will choose comfort over beauty so I will play it safe and choose the 17" wheels. They don't look that bad after all.
they certainly dont look bad. and at first glance, its hard to notice the difference between 17" and 18" wheels. only you will have a heightened perception since you know the size.
I agree with Aditya, the 18" are more money just to give a perceived idea that you look better? The new Ibiza FR looks nice already from the outside, why firm up the ride further, on a car to be used on the Public Road? Very good Review by the way Aditya, with good camera views looking forward through the windscreen - many thanks. Kind regards.
I would definetly go for the 18" - optics 😍
31:58 the ACC increased speed not because the car in front pulled away but because you indicated to lane change. the system assumes that by indicating you're wanting to overtake so overrides the ACC
No F1 Paddle shift? Or you can buy it optionel? Please answer if you know. Thanks
The fog lights are not at the Ibiza LED as with the Leon? :-/
With the new MQB platform its definitely the best car in this segment until the new generation of the Polo will be launched ! The Ibiza is the best price - performance (!) car you can get in this size !✌️ I really fell in love with the sexy and sporty looking FR 😍🔥 I hope SEAT will launch a Cupra model 🏁
Great and interesting Review as allways !
thanks keep supporting us!
A very nice looking car. Great review!
Avi.
👍👍+אבי נמיר
Is it just the shadow or the left side between headlights and the grill looks a bit different than the right side? As if the bonnet was slightly open.
AJ overall a good review with good detail but just a little bit messy at the end em er ar umm .Ciao
Fantastic detailed review. I now have this car with the EVO engine and it’s brilliant. Shame they stopped making this engine on this car. Thanks for the review, I’m off now to play with the cars instrument cluster and see if I have some of these aforementioned systems. 👍
Hi mate, just wondering if your car has the wireless phone charger? Or traffic aware cruise control? Or push button to start engine? Looking at picking one up but not sure if they have these in the UK?
@@bk44228 nope it had none of those on the EVO model. Note I have now sold the car as it started having engine issues, all corrected under warranty but it was terribly slow (too much eco control ruined the ride) so upgraded to an Abarth 595 Competizione. Much more fun.
@@MrMarkeboy1234 Nice one, thanks for the reply
Best looking small car ever!
I've been seriously considering this Ibiza and I keep going back to the previous model because I simply cannot deal with the fake exhaust tips and lack of optional 3 door, which really bothers me because the dashboard and everything in it (which is where I'll be spending most of my time in) is a lot better
Do the touch buttons on the screen iluminate at all? Are they visible at night?
The 1.5 evo engine in the T Roc suffers from judder at low speed after a cold start. So will VW work on a software patch to fix this annoying problem?
Really dig those headlights
Will this come with a 1.8 or anything higher than 1.5?
150bhp is not enough, but I don't particularly want a Cupra either.
Nice to see a balanced review. It's a shame that the 1.5TSI engine isn't offered on the Excellence trim.
thanks tune in for more!
Hey Aj or anyone, please help me with this stupid question
As far as i know. Camshafts are the one whos controlling Valves in and out, right? In miller cycle, when piston goes up doing compression's phases, intake valve slightly open and let some of air out. The duration/lift/timing of that opening makes start of compression's phase into variably, thats why its called variable compression ratio. Am i right so far?
Then the question is. Who was controlling that intake valve? I mean, what trigers them to open during compression's phase?
Thanks for your reply. Appreciated
Thanks for the great review AJ. I like the new design of the Ibiza.Incidentally which country do you hold nationality? I cannot pick your accent so assume like Thomas you are from Germany?
originally from India and been living in the states, so the accent is rather US :)
Awesome in-depth review guys! As I am already in love with this car this was 42 minutes of pure joy for me. Thank you! Here's hoping the 1.5 will be available with the DSG. Oh no, all the purists will hate me now!
+TDM as aj said it will! 😁
Oh, he did? I must have missed that but that's awesome!
Btw could you tell me if the FR actually has a twin exhaust behind those blocked off fake ones (one at each side) or does it simply have one exhaust behind one of them?
TDM only behind one of them (the left one to be specific)
That's so sad. Thanks for the answer, Datković :)
TDM :)
Will the 1.5 be available in europe with a DSG?
Actually a good review. I wonder how reliable is this new 1.5 engine.. One thing though - it is EUROs, not JUROs :)
thanks alex!
Good review AJ. Keep up the good work.... I have 3 cars... VW Passat, BMW 5 series and Audi A3 (all less than 3 yrs old). I do like the refinement of VW group cars.... But was never a fan of Seat as I don't see the point (They sell VW on refinement, Skoda on value and Audi on luxury/sportiness.... what do they need Seat for?)..... But, this is the first Seat I would be interested in buying, purely on the looks. It looks sick, especially with the Ferrari like alloys on the review car.
thanks keep joining us!
Seat basically gives you a more sporty and stylish option than VW (actually i think the leon looks and drives better than even the A3) while often beeing extremely good value and sometimes undercutting skoda price-wise. of course the interiour does not stand up to Audi standards but hey you can safe a lot of money if you are okay with some hard plastic.
I really like very beautiful and equipped for an ibiza, I want one :)
great review
Hi witch color will be the best for this car??
Congrats for your work! I have a curiosity, what camera and lens are you using?
thanks! Thats pana gh4
where are the locking sistem that in VW usually is in the doors?
Really like this reviewer!
thanks keep joining!
Good job man thank you
Exterior design is really attractive but I don't like large amount of piano black inside and the glossy touch screen as well. Nevertheless, I like the AJ's review with technical explenations.
thanks m8 !
Someone give me the dimensions of the wheel (rim and mostly the tire) in the truck for the subwoofer PLEASE (sorry for my english)
what music is played at the start and end of video?
Looks great, still a mini-leon ;). Now i'm doubting, this or Rapid Spaceback for small family? Cost about the same.
Think the exterior is far more characterful than Golf and the interior is as intuitively designed with only it's cheaper plastics and minor build issues making a slight dent over Volkswagen.
Noticed in your camera there are so many Seat and other VAG vehicles in the city.
Video is great , very soft and detailed description..
+Zizu Wer thank you!
Humm, 1.5 with a variable geometry turbo? I'm feeling a straight pipe incoming. Sad the fake exhaust tips, but amazing car and review, Thank you.
+henrike22 thank you keep following us
I liked this video liked most of your extended videos. Can't wait to see the new Ibiza in person.
What disturbed me - the presenter did not use the right lane on the highway. Not even for a second. After all, you guys are German based, and the German are known for their "Rechtsfahrgebot".
It’s more economical than the 1.4 Leon?
great review AJ, with your help Thomas can soon retire ! The Ibiza is an interesting small car at an attractive price. The new 1.5 TSFI is certainly a good choice with the 7 speed DSG.
+Romain Meyer 😎
Nice looking car,the onley thing i do not like is the exhaust layout.
Really nice review but I've missed an analysis of the new Beats audio System (Extra) that I think your demo car had.
Otherwise, this video was completely useful for me! Good work! :D
+JC Manteca thank you keep tuning in
Very Nice video AJ When is the virtual cockpit coming to SEAT? In Arona?
thanks! good question. I dont think they ll put it into those small cars, at least not with Skoda and Seat. Let's see if the all-new VW Polo will get it (world premiere report soon)
Wrong. According to Spanish and German media, SEAT officials confirmed that the Virtual cockpit is coming in a few months to Ibiza, Leon, Ateca etc.
For more information, contact Dr. Matthias Rabe.
Giorgos Papaspyros tnx for info. i know the new škoda karoq will have it from MY2019 week 22 production 2018.. so maybe SEAT will get at the same time?
You cannot expect it to happen simultaneously., it all depends on their manufacture scheduling for which I have no specific information other than the official confirmations.
As such, they surely already know when, perhaps this should come earlier or later, after all this is what they have planned so.
In 2018 you should expect that the virtual cockpit will be available widely across SEAT range, including the Ibiza. This has been confirmed.
Please if you have there a car, bonnet open just let us to hear the engine at least.Car reviews never focus on engine noise but it is quiet interesting.
Nice, I have ordered the 1.0 TSI with DSG in the same color ! :-) I'm driving just downtown so it should be enough ! :-)
perfekte Qualität der Aufnahme!!!!
+Frank Benninger 👍
Very nice review! I would like to know how's the fuel consumption on these 150ps? Can you tell me how many liters of fuel you are burning per 100kms in the city and on the highway?
check at 39:30
Thomas is the man, but still well done ;-)
i buyed the older version :( :D very beautiful update
Ateca Cupra looking forward
Wish these were in the states
4:07 It's more like 1,8m (1780mm). :) A little "lapsus linguae". Still great job AJ! :D
Hey there Autogefühl , I was just wondering if the unit that you tried had the optional Beats Audio speakers, and if so, would you be kind enough to help me out with a couple questions?
Is it good, sound quality wise?
Does the subwoofer take up boot space or does it fit inside the 18" spare wheel and leave the same space?
Thanks in advance for your answer and congrats on your videos!
thanks! We ll drive the Ibiza next week again, we ll see what we can find out
Autogefühl Hey thank you very much!!
Keep up the great work!!
Autogefühl Hey there again! I was finally able to take a look at a Beats Audio equipped Ibiza. It sounds really really good and it doesn't take up additional space in the boot. Thanks for everything by the way!Keep up the great content!
I liked the 1,5 version of car but Seat dealer asks for a 5 month delivery ,I think VW like to keep 1,5 tsi engines for themselves and I bought a Peugeot 208 instead....
The 1.5 150KM doesn't get the VGT or Miller-cycle. Those weird features are only present in the 130KM variant. 150KM variant however gets questionable aluminium cyliders sprayed with very thin layer of steel instead of classic steel sleeves as in any other VW engine. Unfortunately both of them get cylinder deactivation. So no matter which variant you choose - there are a lot of gimmicks to fail ;)
Nice review. I also have ordered an fr edition in red. Full options. It's a pitty the alcantara is available from the end of november :s. So I need to wait. The 1.5 is still not available here. Now I will get the 115 hp version. I prefer the 1.5 tsi but can t wait that long.
+Mark cool!
+Mark u ll be happy anyway
I had luck. Every few days I was taking a look at the online configurator. A few weeks ago I was surprised to see the 1.5 available there. I imidiatly contact my dealer if it's possible to change my ordered ibiza. Next day he call me that it's possible. I think if I had not ordered alcantara I had bad luck, because it was available from november. That was the reason my car was still not in production. Now I has to wait a month or two longer, but I hope it is worth it. My dealer was thinking I'm the first one in my country who gets a 1.5 tsi ibiza ^^. Now I need to be patience. But I'm not :s
I still like this car. Had the 1.5 tsi full options for 1,5 year. At the end of 2018 the new mazda 3 was presented and I liked that design so much. So I have trade in my ibiza. Big mistake. The 3 is a nice, premium car, but I have so much issues with it. Every few months I can go back to the dealer to fix problems. Thougt mazda was a good brand. This 3 is clearly not. 18k km's on it now and so much shit. Tommorow I need to bring it back for some dash rattlings. They need to take the whole dashboard out for the second time to fix it again. My ibiza has 40k km's on it and no single issue. The quality is way better then modern mazda's.
Hi mate, just wondering if your Ibiza had the wireless phone charger? Or traffic aware cruise control? Or push button to start engine? Looking at picking one up but not sure if they have these in the UK?
Is ground clearance in this FR model the same as in other trims? I've read somewhere that suspension is 15mm lower but does it mean that car is 15mm lower in height with less ground clearance?
Yes
YES it is the same or YES there is less ground clearance? ;)
Ajlan between this Ibiza FR 1,5cc vs Swift Sport which one would you buy?
u can compare our review here :)
ua-cam.com/video/qB54c86lgBE/v-deo.html
It is okey for me to have a "fake" outerpart on the ecsoust. (Sory for my english) But I don't like when the ecsoust pipe is under the car.
