For those who don't know, Ragnarok literally means "Final Destiny of the gods". And Ragnarok is considered a form of doomsday like 2012, etc. From which, Zero "dies" on Ragnarok, and this would make sense since Zero is known as the "God of Destruction".
Omega is the god of destruction. The nickname was given to him during the elf wars, when Zero had nothing to do with his original body. So you were wrong on that account.
Zero was still intended to be a god of destruction by Dr Wily. And Omega being the god of destruction doesn't change the fact that it's still Zero's original body
Dr.Weil in my opinion is the best villain. He SUCCEEDS in taking over the world (well, the parts that the humans lived in anyway, excluding area zero), managed to commit genocide TWICE, managed to destroy the word even WORSE than sigma, left the remaining world to basically die, and tried to kill himself along with HUMAN RACE(along with humanity's last hope for nature). You fight Wily so many times that he becomes a JOKE. You only fight Weil ONCE, and it counts. He is the first human you KILL.
Can I make the point that Weil is actually the Kefka Palazzo of the Megaman series? But somehow even more destructive and psychopathic? He really is one hell of a villain.
Ciel developed a new energy source sometime after Zero 4 that revolutionized the world and made it the chipper, colorful, cheery place it is in ZX. Compared to the Zero series, I'd say it looks like society's in pretty good shape, aside from the enemies you fight in-game. She only made the Biometals in response to Albert designing model W, and the other Biometals are merely a means for the Cyber Elf forms of X, Zero and so on to maintain a presence in the world. It isn't a body, it's a conduit.
There is an instance of them containing their memories as model H mentions "those people we fought for so many years ago are lulled to sleep by an empty promise of peace but I believe our fight had meaning" while model L also mentions something not very reliable piece of information however she states "it will be interesting to take on the person who bested the great model Z"
Hate that Zero disappeared...but he came back as a Biometal. I want to play as him again. He was one of my favorite video game players in an epic and great adventure.
I mean this is the end of the world at this point of the game and it is the final level theme you literally see outside Ragnarok slowly hurdling towards earth the setting for the final level in zero 4 is perfect
If Mega Man Zero ever gets an animation, I hope they use tracks like these when Wile comes around. A bit off-topic but, this song pairs well with a scene in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Part 8(slight spoiler). In the Hospital where Josuke and Rai corner the main villain, and Rai is about to land killing blow, he gives them his speech about no one being able to get this close to him without being struck.
In ZX, humans have been given various mechanical implants while reploids have been made more life like and given lifespans. Both are now almost indistinguishable from each other and united as a new race called "humanoids". The villains are very powerful men who basically already rule the world and are secretly planning to sacrifice the masses as a power source to make them akin to a Deity. The Biometals exist simply so that there can be a new Megaman to stop such a villain.
Yup, gives me Legends vibes... A developer (forgot which one) said that everything goes towards Legends, the art style, the music, the theme, the atmosphere.
I would say that he ranks up there as one of the best. On that note, I'd call Dr. Wily one of the greatest masterminds ever to have constructed Zero. ...even if Zero kind of pulled a total 180 and fought for all that was good instead.
Yeah, Zero was greatest warror. He stood to face the enemies even after so much, he continue to protect everybody to make better future for all. He even sacrifice his life to stood for Ciel belief that humans and reploids can live together in peace and harmony. Zero will never be forgotten as long as we continue to protect everybody and peace between us.
I like the theory that said Weil would be Willy transferring his personnality from bodies to bodies over the time, but losing his initial memory and become even more and more crazy in the process, if that theory was that would actually be genious, cause after beating what he was suppose to be originally (Omega Zero a soulless killing machine) that mean his final opponent would be his creator which is quite fitting for Zero's final oponnent.
I wouldn't say he was the first human you actually killed since he does sorta "live" on as Biometal Model W but i will say he is the first that causes the hero to fully intentionally try to kill him. I'll also say that he is one of the best antagonists both in accomplishments and goals. Wiping out out 60% of humanity and 90% of reploids while controlling "Zero" with the goal of global genocide/control. I can't name another villain who did that.
If anything I feel like it's a fate worse than death as wiel had to live over 100 isolated from the outside world in an inhabitable landscape and we know that this had an effect on his psyche
If you look at these games from the perspective of Zero, the 'why' doesn't matter so much. Elf wars? Wasn't there. Why Weil was exiled? Who cares. He's evil, and he caused much pain and suffering. The game wouldn't have the right feel if they decided to add all the explainations to our questions in game. So they didn't. He did what he thought was right, and devoted himself entirely to that.
Well, I think I could answer those questions. Maybe you weren't aware, but in one of the ending scenes in Megaman 2: The Power Fighters (I think), Wily reveals a blueprint that looks like Zero. And it was established in Megaman X4 that Dr. Wily was his creator, due to the W on his head. The first part, was because they considered Weil to be Maverick. Wily was the original creator of the virus, so... The Headgem could cause him pain as a sort of "controlling mechanism," to get Zero to stop.
This is my favorite "final stage" theme in any video game, ever. It truly feels like the end; there is no returning back; this won't last and end good. This is Zero's final mission, and he *knows* that it is. This will be the last time he will be fighting for those he believes in.
Ragnarok a fitting title it is a time when all worlds and in a way wiel did end the old world as all the reploids of the old era are dead, we are unsure of the fate of the guardians in zero 3 due to conflicting interviews but we know they died eventually, and it allowed a new world to be made in the zx era even if the old world was in shambles and the warriors of the past are dead
I'd like to throw my opinion in here and see what you people think. I've been a Megaman fan for about 12 years now, ever since I played X 4, my first Megaman game, I've been hopelessly looped into a cycle of playing old Megaman games and wishing for new releases. Megaman Zero is definitely one of the key players in the series, it has tons of fans, and I've liked almost all of the games. I'll always hold Megaman X to be the best one of them all, mainly because of my respect for the blue bomber.
In my opinion? Yes. Better than Wily, better than Sigma. Weil was so damn close to actually succeeding with his goals. Weil was such a threat that Zero had to do the ultimate sacrifice to make sure that Weil wouldn't succeed. Weil had all of the pieces where they needed to be, and it was scarily close that not even Zero could stop him in the end. That is why he's a legendary villain, and the threat in these games is so real. And why the megaman zero series has the best story out of them all.
Model W (Weil) does, but Ciel didn't make that. She made the OTHER Biometals to COUNTER that threat. She couldn't just LET the ones who seek to control Model W use it unopposed, so she brought the Megamen back in the form of the Biometals. The only reason H, L, F and P were used by a bunch of douchebags in ZXA is 'cause Albert (another villain) gave said douchebags the ability to do so. Ciel can't be held accountable for that. It just turned out that way.
Gahahahaha! Are you even capable of it? The Reploid hero... Protecting justice and humanity! I am one of those humans you were sworn to protect! Do you have it in you to defeat me!?
I never cared about Justice! And I don't recall ever calling myself a hero. I have always fought for the people I believe in. If an enemy appears in front of me, I will destroy it! Ciel... Believe in me!
For some reason this Song remind a little of the Zeal Palace theme from Chrono Trigger ^^ This theme really screams that this the end and it's not gonna be an happyr ending, I love how unlike the other Zero games, the Final Dungeon of Zero 4 doesn't have an hype song but this ominous and threatning song instead.
@DKsranan Actually, they showed Zero's helmet at the ending of MMZ4. So either he died when Ragnarok exploded, or he scrapped it and is trying to rebuild himself, kind of like in MMX6. Very androgynous ending, yeah?
@DKsranan I want to change this. I really, really want to help finish the X and ZX series. The megaman series as a whole had a very powerful message but it wasn't clearly conveyed. I'll be posting remixes of the songs along with whatever I can to hopefully get enough attention so Capcom will hire me to help finish the series, and show what an amazing series megaman zero was.
What war are you talking about? There's no war in ZX. Most of the enemies are the villain's security force or just random mechaniloids that are more like wild animals than anything else. Ciel didn't start a war. It's like you don't know anything about ZX. It's like you just took a glance at it, misinterpreted whatever you saw, and went "Meh. Not my thing.".
Transformers??? What the frak are you talking about? The biometals are there to maintain a theme as old as the classic games, keeping the tradition of getting powers from defeated bosses alive, only the Biometals take that concept further by giving each one different ways to play. If you're talking about the Pseudoroids and the way they "transform" various body parts into weapons during a fight, like Hivolt's legs, THAT'S BECAUSE THEY'RE CREATIVELY DESIGNED.
so you mean that building better society, making world more colorful and cheery is a good thing if only side-effect is war? okay, i respect your opinion... with a cheerfully colored bazooka :D
@DKsranan In the end, it's NOT a matter of opinion, because as I already said, Inafune has already mentioned in an interview that Zero 4 is the last game in the series. Are you seriously telling me that you're not willing to accept what is obviously the end of a series just because it didn't say "MEGAMAN ZERO: END" on the last screen? Are you out of your mind? Oh, and by the way, Zero can't be back in "the original with a new jacket", because he destroyed his original body in Z3. Numbnuts.
@FlameG102 He WAS a human. He's a machine in the Zero series. But I suppose he can't be maverick. He was still evil, though. I know that; was merely referencing that as a reason of the headgem.
Weil cannot be maverick. He is a human, and was only given a machine body until AFTER the virus no longer existed. AFTER the Elf Wars. No one is debating that Wily created Zero.
Ragnarok is basically End Of The World in Northern European Myth. And when you hear the music, It is when Ragnarok is about to crash the Earth. So........
Ohma Connor Ragnarok is also referred to as “The Destruction of the Gods” and Zero holds the title of “God of Destruction” as told in Z3, so it really encapsulates that this isn’t just the end for the whole world but for Zero too, really poetic and majestically scary 👀
Its true though. it has better established facts and plots, while the X and Zero series were full of vagueness and mysteries. the Elf wars, the whole event that dictates the events of the Zero series, is only referenced, and in game, somewhat poorly. It took a sourcebook, and drama tracks to fully explain to us many of the events. otherwise, we dont know why Zero was sealed up, we dont know how Omega was defeated, we dont know much.
@DHAZEDXZ agreed with you, the plot in MZ is too awesome, and ZX is cool but still really miss of a really evil villain (serpent and albert are a joke compared to weil and sigma)
I might be wrong, but i think Ragnarok would be a mass extinction event worst than the Eurasia's crash. As ZX games let us know, the Area M and N are the results of ragnarok's remain trying, in vain since the core is destroyed, to rebuild itself. Now, imagine if Ragnarok strikes earth with full force. The impact would not only destroy the Area zero and the close locations, but would slowly turn the world into a undying wasteland as the Weil's powers turns the survivors, and even dead ones, into undying beings and, in this time, theres no X or Zero to save them from they demise.
@DKsranan Capcom/Inafune(can't remember which, not that it matters, either of their word is good) have stated that the Zero series is over. That's why the book is called Megaman Zero Official COMPLETE Works, not Megaman Zero Official Hey-guys-we-might-still-have-another-sequel Works. I hate people who can't let Zero die. I mean, seriously, Zero is my favorite video game hero of all time, but even I have to accept that a character can only be resurrected so many times before it becomes stupid.
@Crim3onWolf megaman X have more serious things in the history,i love to much more X series than classic,it turns into a world that felt down in a constant war between hunters and maveriks and it goes on until the zero series
I love how everyone is bashing the ZX games because they aren't Megaman Zero 5 or 6 I've played the Zero games and the ZX games and I love them both, Try having an open mind before you bash a game.
The X series has very poorly and vaguely expressed facts, such as Wily's connection with the virus, (Capcom says he was "revived" by the virus.. okay, but how?) Or, what is the significance and or purpose of the W that flashed across Zero's Headgem that allowed Sigma to defeat Zero and get the virus? Why did it cause him pain? those sort of things. :P
i never said that Ciel started the war, i just said that she made Biometals which are tools in the war... Ciel promised that she will create world where humans and reploids coexist in peace, you seriously think that in ZX reploids and humans coexist in peace? what are you fighting for then?
Cause transformers should stay in their own game? don't u see it, game itself is good but they should keep Megaman and Transformers as 2 different games.
I dont see whats so bad about the story to begin with. ZX1 is essentially, for all intents and purposes, Zero 5. >_> I mean, Big 4, X, Zero, vs Weil once again. In fact, ZX's story is actually more well written and played out than either X or Zero.
"giving each one different ways to play" i agree its nice to have few different characters to play with but u know, 10+ to switch between is just too much... like many others i dont like to switch between characters all the time to go through these "puzzles" and i think that the idea of humans using parts of dead reploid heroes as weapons sounds disgusting -.- may i add that ZX made Ciel break her promise to Zero as cause of Ciel there's war again (she made copy-x in mmz and Biometals in zx)
I dont like the idea of ZX your just playing as a poorly upgraded over armored Zero -_- who by far sucks atleast zero makes a comeback as Omega (His normal body) ^^
I liked and disliked the zx series. The characters were too bland, and it was too much like a sentai theme.. The final bosses of both games sucked ass. they could have done far better. IMO the zx games were just a cheap attempt by capcom to milk the franchise. It woulda been cooler if the revived characters from the original series. Like, say bass also ended up sealed away for centuries, after extensive upgrades to match zeros power, only to find zeros broken helmet. But is then attacked by a rival. see? That alone owns zx's story, and it took minutes.
some of it was lost in translation. aile and vent really had some fairly significant problems/traumas both before and after becoming model zx. they really weren't quite as justice/sentai and more vengeful (over their parents and over giro) in japanese. zx2 ashe has a lot more than grey in JP. grey just has daddy problems.
Hmm.. I didn't really like them at all. I guess the cameo appearances of characters like wire sponge we're kinda cool, but I hated the designs, the gameplay was okay, but the damn voices annoy me, especially the American voices.. I just can't like those two games, they got too weird for me. :/
+Marcus Bullock Yeah okay right... because bringing back Bass as a villan is so much more creative than coming up with new characters. And ZX is the "ONLY" example of Capcom milking the franchise. I'm not saying that people have to like ZX, but I am so sick of people crapping on ZX for frankly petty reasons. It's this mentality that the Zero series is God and the ZX games slandered the graces of him that bothers me.
Zx is crap, has lame voice actors, has retarded bosses, and both zx and zxa have moronic final bosses. The only good things to come from zx and zxa are prometheus and pandora.
For those who don't know, Ragnarok literally means "Final Destiny of the gods". And Ragnarok is considered a form of doomsday like 2012, etc. From which, Zero "dies" on Ragnarok, and this would make sense since Zero is known as the "God of Destruction".
Never knew Koishi had intelligence
Omega is the god of destruction. The nickname was given to him during the elf wars, when Zero had nothing to do with his original body. So you were wrong on that account.
Zero was still intended to be a god of destruction by Dr Wily. And Omega being the god of destruction doesn't change the fact that it's still Zero's original body
Excellent details!
Waos.
He is the first human you KILL.
nope. First human you kill is Iris from Megaman X4
+Floofie kun she is
well at that point weil wasn't a human anymore
Can I make the point that Weil is actually the Kefka Palazzo of the Megaman series? But somehow even more destructive and psychopathic?
He really is one hell of a villain.
Weil was WORSE than fucking Kefka. MUCH worse.
No matter what, this always sends chills down my spine. It is the end.
Do you see this pain!? You'd NEVER understand any of it!! ----- Do you understand pain such as this?!
1:21 is when the CREEPY KICKS IN.
This is the exact song I played when I was entering my thesis dissertation. It was perfect.
It’s an AI, doesn’t actually hold their souls.
The biometals do contain they cyber elfs and or souls within them but they don't contain the memories of x zero and the guardians
Albert didn't design Model W, they discovered it and it was basically a merging of the satellite and Weil.
But yes..we don't have anything more than that piece of information.
Hate that Zero disappeared...but he came back as a Biometal. I want to play as him again. He was one of my favorite video game players in an epic and great adventure.
This is depressing, creepy, and epic.
I mean this is the end of the world at this point of the game and it is the final level theme you literally see outside Ragnarok slowly hurdling towards earth the setting for the final level in zero 4 is perfect
This is what a true final stage theme in the game should sound like. This and end of the world from Sonic 06 are the best final level themes imo.

Yup, gives me Legends vibes...
A developer (forgot which one) said that everything goes towards Legends, the art style, the music, the theme, the atmosphere.

Cuando el tema en sí no podía ser más Genial y memorable, hacen un Remake simplemente Épico!
¡Les quedó Suuuuuuuppeeeeerrrr! :D
Fun fact: Weil is not Wily.
He's not Vile either :v
blaabyman No shit Sherlock.
Hmm... Interesting...
@@nesoukkefka1741 you the only one with facts
This remix of Ragnarok is amazing but I wish there was more of this "guitar?" Like in minute 1:37
I wouldn't say he was the first human you actually killed since he does sorta "live" on as Biometal Model W but i will say he is the first that causes the hero to fully intentionally try to kill him. Wiping out out 60% of humanity and 90% of reploids while controlling "Zero" with the goal of global genocide/control. I can't name another villain who did that.
He kills him. The soul stayed trapped in the model W but it was his death that cause that.
If anything I feel like it's a fate worse than death as wiel had to live over 100 isolated from the outside world in an inhabitable landscape and we know that this had an effect on his psyche
Is it just me or do parts of this sound vaguely like the final battle against Sigma in Megaman X3? It's the tune that starts at 0:15.
It kinda does, yeah
If you look at these games from the perspective of Zero, the 'why' doesn't matter so much. Elf wars? Wasn't there. Why Weil was exiled? Who cares. He's evil, and he caused much pain and suffering.

In my opinion? Yes. Better than Wily, better than Sigma. Weil was so damn close to actually succeeding with his goals. I'm probably not the first to ask why is it called ragnarok
Ragnarok is basically End Of The World in Northern European Myth. And when you hear the music, It is when Ragnarok is about to crash the Earth. So........
장준현 And the 8 bosses are based on specific mythical creatures so there’s that
Ohma Connor Ragnarok is also referred to as “The Destruction of the Gods” and Zero holds the title of “God of Destruction” as told in Z3, so it really encapsulates that this isn’t just the end for the whole world but for Zero too, really poetic and majestically scary 👀
Sadly he's mostly a nod to the X series, rather than being the spirit of Axl, just like Model X and Z are the spirit of X and Zero.
@wonderiferoustea Plus they might use that for another game.....
People: _Weil is the best villain of the Megaman series !!
Me:_I LIKY SIGIMA HUEHUEHUEHUEHUE
Only in Maverick Hunter X
My reaction of Zero being an assist trophy.
@DKsranan as a biometal
he died in Z4
@0nlyfu dude look at the end credits his name is on them how can u say he did not participate
@vaati500 At least you get to play as Omega in MegaMan ZX.
@Crim3onWolf megaman X have more serious things in the history,i love to much more X series than classic,it turns into a world that felt down in a constant war between hunters and maveriks and it goes on until the zero series
I love how everyone is bashing the ZX games because they aren't Megaman Zero 5 or 6 I've played the Zero games and the ZX games and I love them both, Try having an open mind before you bash a game.
and Biometals also allows villains to get more powerful...
The X series has very poorly and vaguely expressed facts, such as Wily's connection with the virus, (Capcom says he was "revived" by the virus.. okay, but how?)
Or, what is the significance and or purpose of the W that flashed across Zero's Headgem that allowed Sigma to defeat Zero and get the virus?
Why did it cause him pain?
those sort of things. :P
@vaati500 Are you dissing Inafune!? I can't believe you! >.< ....... Just kidding.
i never said that Ciel started the war, i just said that she made Biometals which are tools in the war... Ciel promised that she will create world where humans and reploids coexist in peace, you seriously think that in ZX reploids and humans coexist in peace? what are you fighting for then?
@DHAZEDXZ add megaman X series to this as well!
@AshisogiiJizo Megaman zero 4 Rare?! , look it up on this site.
Cause transformers should stay in their own game? don't u see it, game itself is good but they should keep Megaman and Transformers as 2 different games.
@Alphahydranoid1998 Look up Megaman zero 4 Rare?! on this site.
And….?
X series=f*cking amazing!
Z series=too damn hot to be hand held!
ZX series=piece of shit!
Correct, correct, incorrect

Marcus Bullock LMAO look at this edgelord, thinking he knows what a good story is. Your opinion is shit.
Zx is crap, has lame voice actors, has retarded bosses, and both zx and zxa have moronic final bosses.
The only good things to come from zx and zxa are prometheus and pandora.
more like a unknown hero for making Zero
oh sorry thats willy
