Tatsuya's Scenario shows that, at least 10 years ago, Tadashi still had his chops when it came to writing for this series. It is some kind of cosmic tragedy that we can never get both games at the same time over here...
This entire series has felt like one cosmic joke after another. However, with P5's unmitigated success, we can only hope Atlus chooses to mine all the old properties.
It's a damn shame that we never got a psp version of EP. With persona's 25th anniversary announcement, I hope the first 3 games get some attention and/or global re-releases. Thank you for the hard work snickety. Love this series you created. 🙂
Apparently the overall translation is now finished but they're working on editing and checking for errors and making sure its all working. So we just got alittle while longer to wait!
In the time since your first EP analysis came out, I played both parts of the Persona 2 duology and they've become some of my favorite games. I'm super excited to see your analysis continued!
This a great way to end the classic era of Persona. I hope Atlus will do something for Persona 1's 25th anniversary coming up this Sep. Kind of a shame that P1-2ep don't get as much love as modern era does. Though since P5 brought back negotiations, party members weilding guns and melee weapons, etc from the previous games it would be great to see newer fans try out the classic era of this gnarly series.
Honestly I wouldn't mind seeing something like an anime adaption of P1 at the very least. That or who knows maybe Atlus will blow our minds with a metroidvania spin off featuring the Mcs of each Persona game.
This video feels like it really got snuffed in the algorithm. I’ve been waiting for this video and it didn’t show up in my subscription feed or recommendations. I had to look it up when looking at your channel since I rewatch the persona 1 series regularly, and was pleasantly surprised to see this video on your channel.
Been waiting on this for a while. You make such great vids on the old persona games. Considering that a lot of people including me haven’t had the chance/ time to go back and play the whole series. I appreciate you making this so that I can discuss persona with all the persona vets and feel confident. So thanks!
You've done incredibly with this breakdown series. I hope this becomes one of the cornerstones in admiring and revisiting the deliberately ignored Persona games.

Was amazing learning more about the first 3 games than I already did through this series. Such love and care went behind each entry with Tadashi and the crew with the games, and with you with these videos. P3 is personally my least favorite game (I still like it just... The least lol) but I'm sure you of all ppl can unearth some cool information that would have me appreciate it more than I already do.
Persona 2 (Duollgy) is the greatest game of all time. Bruh seeing all this stuff that even I didn't know about especially that extra story section written by Todashi just blows my mind. A TALKING CAT?!! 👀You are a hero dude and I pray to God we get to experience this game in the form of a remake/remaster/Whatever-the-F***. Some day. I love persona 2 so much 😭😭😭 You made my whole year with this video lol!
you are capable of giving me nostalgia over a game i never played. cant wait for persona 3 analysis as that one was the one i played and made me love persona all together.
I keep forgetting how much content is packed within Persona 2. No wonder it holds a special place in many people's hearts. ALSO NEXT TIME WE BURNIN' OUR BREAD BAYBEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!
I just started playing P3 for the first time and this video series has been so useful when it came to understanding all the referenced to P1 & P2 in that game. I really appreciate all the effort and thoroughness that has been put in this series, it's easy to tell it comes from a place of true appreciation and love for the franchise. Hopefully I'll be finished with P3 by the time the next part of the compendium comes out. Thanks for the amazing content!
I never in a million years would have guessed the depths of the stories of the original persona trilogy! Thank you so much for theses videos. While I’m sad the story of Tatsuya and Maya has to come to bittersweet ending I’m glad I got to see it through such an amazing lens. Can’t wait for the modern personas!
Ever since I watched the analysis I just can't get the version of Kimi no Tonari out of my head that plays during 54:48. I've been coming back to this vid regularly just because I love watching the end segment of the video. Though the same can be said for Persona 2 EP's ending itself, as I revisit videos of the ending all the time. It's really hard to let go of all the amazing characters and the bittersweet moments.
I also forgot to add that I can't find the "hummed" version of Kimi no Tonari and would be very grateful if someone told me the name of this version :)
Hey Snickety, loved the video and the series so far. I think the hype starts now, but just wanted to say that there is something very special about the first persona trilogy, and I think your videos capture a lot of the exoteric feeling that those games give me, great work ! I look forward to enything you make in the future.
Gosh, there's so much I missed! Although at this point I think I'm content with this amazing video (and series) I will finish my Nate playthrough and give that EX-Dungeon a chance though.
another cracking video, your persona deep dives are always good, the amount of detail you get into is always surprising. Its a shame the original 3 games dont have anywhere near as much love as the new ones do.
You did an excellent job! This was a great video! Thank you so much for covering this game as well as the entire Original Trilogy of Persona. Now it's on to the big one: the Hashino Era Trilogy.
Thanks for these excellent videos. I was Persona fan from the beginning. Your in-depth analysis of the first three games has both sated my nostalgia as well as covered new ground for old games. I cannot thank you enough for these reviews.
I love this video analysis as well as the others before it, but I have one minor criticism: I wish you would have gone more into detail about the other moral questions asked by the many bosses in the Kadath Mandala like Inazami and Angra Mainyu because they are very interesting and do handle some of the themes proposed by the Persona 2 games like romance and the nature of evil. Still, awesome job with the Persona analyses.
The fusion Spell the three unique personas perform is Tenchu-Satsu. Don't know what it means, but I'll edit this comment if no one replies to it before looking it up.
Now just like persona itself, it’s time for this series to enter the mainstream with the next installment (hopefully anyways, it would be a funny parallel)
Here's hoping with Sega pushing Atlus more and more than we'll get some of the PS1 trilogy on PC, hell I'll even been happy with the PSP versions (Mods can fix the issues at least there~ )
*After this game* The Persona Series: So what can i expect for the future? Me: You peaked... The Persona Series: WHAT!? But im still good Me: Yeah, but it will never be this high...
@@ChiefMedicPururu Whenever Atlus Re-releases a game there’s always a caveat with it. Take the remasters for Personas 1 and 2 IS. Persona 1 PSP fixed a lot of things don’t get me wrong but the new soundtrack ran against the original tone and theme of the PS1 version and there was no way to switch between the two. Persona 2 IS PSP butchered the combat system of the original, changing the auto based battle system which made it easy to choose a party’s member’s actions as fast and simple as possible to more a traditional battle system but with more and slower menus which made battles feel tedious and like a chore. They also greatly butchered the difficulty reducing the enemy’s stats so they deal very piss poor damage to you. Persona 2 EP PSP is the ideal version of a re-release, not changing anything but being true to its roots and adhering to the original team’s vision and wishes. But also adding the necessary QOL features for a modern audience. It’s not as if Snickety doesn’t wish these games to be re-released but given their track record I’m not so sure anymore. Imo the best Persona game in the series because of Tatsuya being a total Chad and not caring if he's with a man, woman, or otherwise.
