Loved Mike Fagan! He is honestly one of my favorites to ever hit the lanes on the tour. His game was nice 👌 Thanks for tips and video guys! I honestly might have a solution to what's been happening to me lately. I might just have to pull a Fagan 😂
That hitting up on the ball is the best piece of advice for loft for sure, I cannot tell you how many Brooklyn garbage strikes or through the nose shots doing that as I extended properly and just be taller, silk. Love the channel kick ass
11:43 - 11:58 What i mainly use lofting for is my house shot at my local center has a heavy oil house shot and if i do not bring my Proton Physix, im screwed. So what i end up doing is throwing my Phaze 2 and lofting it higher up in the air rather than for distance to force my ball into hooking earlier rather than just slide down the lane cause there's too much oil on the lane. Tonight for example i was averaging around 140-150, started lofting and one of my friends even said "you dont ever loft the ball" and the furst game i lofted i bowled a 198, next was a 215
Great video fellas! Always look forward to seeing you guys in action at the wsob in Wisconsin every year!keep it up not only are you guys giving great tips for the average age bowlers but my 7 yr old loves the videos as well !
11:45 There is a place for that kind of direction, tho, and that is if you are dealing a lot of carrydown or volume of oil and you do NOT have a lot of power. The footprint will cause the ball to actually get to the roll phase. It will also slow said speed dominant bowlers down. I call it the "soft loft." Worked wonders on super long patterns/carrydown before I went two handed.
Major Mika is the best at lofting for a one hander in my opinion. He could take the entire front part out when they were torn up and accurate as hell, but he was taller and was easier for him.
This is really good stuff Gents. Actually used this technique yesterday afternoon bowling no taps on a really beat up house shot. Had a 4 bagger and a 5 bagger games 1 & 2. Yes actual strikes not no tap strikes. 😂
feel like i might missed it but also when you throw the ball with more arch to it then level projection you also lose ball speed more so which can cause the ball to read even sooner.. it is a nice little trick in the bag though which you understand whats going on..
Having knee issues,I virtually do not bend at the release point.I have found lofting is my regular way of throwing now.I appreciate showing the various lofting areas and what the ball does when it hits the lane.
When lofting, think of it like skipping a rock across the top of pond. If you throw the rock high, your probably just going to make a big splash. However, if you get the rock out, with a fair amount of rev’s, it’ll skip across the surface of the water.
Serious comment, I also like what Hit it Harder says about lofting. It actually shortens patterns up. A ball can't enter ANY of the three phases when it is in the air. Sooooo if you are speed dominant (like I used to be before I went two handed) and have to deal with a lot of oil, its a quick fix. Take a fairly aggressive asym ball all the way down and hurl it up 10 to the markers. Your ball will read the SECOND it touches the lane but WON'T quit on the backswing because its been in the air for 40 feet. Not ENOUGH oil? Do the opposite: Get a pearl symmetric ball and hurl that to the markers to whatever tracer you are trying to hit. This is EXACTLY what most college bowlers (even speed dominant ones like myself in college) NEED to do in order to do well.
Jason needs to learn to roll the ball. He doesn't let his arm swing freely and is doing it all out of youthful athleticism. He won't be doing that at 40 and won't be able to compete at 50 if he doesn't learn to roll the ball. Lofting is a tool, not a style of bowling.
Lofting was my best friend last week in league 😅😅. My league is four men team, as well as four games per week. So by game three the oil is pretty much gone. I am right handed, and I do have a lot of revs. So I grabbed my strongest asymmetrical ball, moved left to about 25/30 and started to send the ball is the air. Game three (before I started to loft) I shot a ugly 158, it got so bad I think I used three balls that game. Game four came, I started lofting and shot 186. Everyone should practice lofting, it’s really a useful trick to have in your bag.
I need an answer to what causes a bowler to be throwing the ball nice and smooth then all of a sudden the ball starts hanging up an your throwing the ball in the air
This can happen when your timing is off (steps synced with arm swing). When you’re late, the ball’s still in your hands, when it should’ve been released.
Tried this at practice the other day and did pretty good with it. Had better scores at practice then league I didn't have to use that trick alot of oil
I always loft it a bit all the time and I love listening to people say I don't throw the ball the right way and don't bowl properly. High speed high revs and I need the ball to get down the lane.
Why we loft, because all the 500 grit purple chuckers that cant hit the same spot twice and yank it over their toe every other ball are blowing up the front part of the lane, fun stuff...try following the chuckers in a tournament you will be plack ten , bucket , and 2-8-10 every other shot
I wonder what the proprietors thought about that Japanese guy who was quite literally lofting the ball halfway down the lane during one of the majors, lol...of course I was too dumbfounded by the fact he was somehow accurate despite that huge loft.
@@ACommentFromUA-cam in all honesty, Prather was forcing urethane and didn’t have a choice but to do what he did. Made it work and paid off to get him to the finals. Do what you gotta do.
How to loft a ball? Don't let go of it. Also not much more boring than watching pros loft the ball down the lane or throwing over the gutter. If you have to do it then the PBA needs to change some things to make it unnecessary.
I'm kinda losing interest because they treat bowlers like we're to simple to figure out different oil patterns. You don't take care of the top down or the bottom up you take care of all real bowlers. The hope is fading that this sport will wise up. I'm moving to golf more and more thanks for all these "rules" because the sport is bleeding out terribly. I can play a round of golf with my friends for 3x cheaper then it is to get a lane ATM any bowling ally.

Completely agree.. with Pete Weber and Chris Barnes being my two favorite bowlers, mike fagan is definitely my top 3!
Are you guys going to do a video about how you feel about the PBA decision on Urethane & Urethane(ish) balls ??
A little more difficult to stand taller with two handed but you get more power. Its a great skill to have, excellent video
Okay I’m back I had to go watch Fagan Vs Barnes. Goood match.

It’s the old “landing the plane on a runway” philosophy. It really works when lofting.

Can you do a video and show us in very slow motion without actually throwing the ball what to do with the hand from the knee to release? Thanks!!
I never lofted the ball when I bowled, just threw it a lot faster.but times have changed 😊

Mika made a living doing that
How is this different than moving your target down lane with your eyes?

Well I guess Kyle is all healed up after watching him throw those 2 lofted balls that darn near went half way down the lane in the air 😂😂
Finally after asking long ago…..
Lofting is a definitely a challenge. I wear myself out every time I do.
That means you are likely squeezing the ball. Used to happen to me as well.
What’s the deal with urethane on tour ?? Is Shawn Rash right ??
Lofting couldn’t save me last night, my lane was so bone dry that I literally lofted a house ball and still went Brooklyn.
B&K saw a lot of lofting when Prather took that $100 from them when he shot that 300 on a bet! 😆
I dunno, bowling alleys usually kick you out if you try to throw a ball halfway down the lane.
I wonder what the proprietors thought about that Japanese guy who was quite literally lofting the ball halfway down the lane during one of the majors, lol...of course I was too dumbfounded by the fact he was somehow accurate despite that huge loft.
Bowling in the seventies all of the good bowlers had the loft game in the arsenal.
feels weird to think of brad getting taller
If you aren't lofting it to the markers, you're not actually lofting 🤣🤣🤣
My bowling handle is monkey... I only loft balls... Any other way and my games are 110 AVG... I hate lofting...
I also loft to take a quarter off of the lane for my bowling balls distance of travel...
Prather just won by lofting...
What did he just win? I seen him lose to troup a couple days ago
@@ACommentFromUA-cam against Belmo, not the whole thing

Another random thing, Facebook said Prather has gone 4-0 against Belmo on TV
Walter won everything by lofting

Are you 2 married?
That ain’t loft lol
Seriously. Get the ball to the markers. THAT is loft haha
