upvote if you want Machine Head to have this line up officially forever.
Even though the original line up is cool and everything and their honourable to fill in untill the new guys arrive, me personally don't want to have Logan and Chris back in officially because obviously if Phil n Dave never left then we all wouldn't even be seeing these guys here what so ever so it feels kind of sloppy seconds to officialy invite these guys back in. To me Phil n Dave will always be the original because I first heard of Machine Head very late (I believe it was a year before The Blackening was released) so I always see Logan and Chris as formers even though they are the originals it's kind of weird but yeah even if they do end up rejoining then that's quite cool but would be really sick it Rob got two. New guys even though they got a lot to fill in for especially Phil but whatever route Rob takes then Im game.
Its easier said than done..
Keep Kontos!
@@deniz1205 funny, i felt that after Kontos left the band had lost it energy, albums after Burn were nice but not on the same level. Maybe those guys are technical beter they miss the energy from Kontos for me.
yeah it makes sense if you started with MH late. I imagine it would be the same with an early ACDC fan who would only consider Bon Scott as the true singer. I always prefered Brian Johnson by far for example.
1994, 15 years old, 400 watt stereo in 8x6 ft bedroom and a huge bong. God it takes me back!
43 years old, headphones on UA-cam, 15x15 ft bedroom and a chillum. God it brings me here!
41 years old and i still have a big stereo and bong ahaha
Good times
Fuck I'm 42 wtf
Same here.. I was 15 also, when this shit came out. Me with my metalhead friends totaly lost our mind, when we start listened to Davidian. Instant moshpit strated in our tiny room, which it ended up a little fight, cause my buddy kicked me so hard on my leg,it almost broken. Still remember 😂Not suprisingly he later became a thai box champ. 😀 That summer was all about Machine Head. when we were out running, cycling,or working out in our home made gym, it Always yelled from our crapy hifi (we had the album on casette Lol!) Best memories. 😀😀😀 All the Best for you, guys! Robert, from Budapest,Hungary.
Those Kontos grooves man it’s a perfect blend of 40%thrash, 25%sludge 15%funk,15%jazz fusion and and 5% viagra.
@White Devil The last word in your sentence can be perfectly used to characterize your statement itself and your musical views/opinion.
@@ccp90 LMAO!!
@@ccp90 That guy must be a fan of Stratovarius, Manowar, Malmsteen and other epic "horse metal" bands xD
Edward: You said it! Kontos rules...
Don't forget kfc
even though metallica was my first concert... Slayer, Machine Head, Biohazard was my first rememberable show. I got my face blown off and speared in the head with a human body, will never forget that one... I didnt even know who machine head was at the time... I went and literally bought Burn my Eyes the next damn day. Can't wait for this tour to come to my town omg!!!!!
KONTOSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!
Matt Thomas Looks like he was struggling to me. I miss Dave already.
@@caseyplooy1696 But does it SOUND like he was struggling? Only thing that matters, really.
James K He didn’t do the same fills he did on the album and changed a couple other things........so, yeah, that to me was kinda struggling. This dude is going to have BIG shoes to fill playing Daves parts.
@@caseyplooy1696 Not saying I disagree on him struggling or anything (but it sounds kickass so who gives a fuck what it looks like), but what part of Burn My Eyes do you think McClain wrote exactly?
Kontos and Mader are not officially joining the band. They're on tour to celebrate/make some cash on the Burn My Eyes anniversary. That means they're only playing their material from their album, Kontos isn't touching McClain's material. That is to be performed by the as of yet unannounced official drummer for the band.
Southy What’s with the insults? Is chris your boyfriend or what? He was only in the band for one album.....for what seems like obvious reasons to me.........but I have no idea what I’m talking about when comes to drumming right. You just keep thinking you know everything.
In 1994 I was 15 years old and I was spending my monthly pocket money cumulated with what I had earned in the summer to buy myself a cd per month. "Burn my Eyes" has had such an impact that it has become one of my favorites. I'm 41 years old now and I'm enjoying this reunion so much.
Love this so much.
Logan's hair is stuck in some sort of nu-metal vortex.
Weed can do that lol
@εnîgϻatîĸ Why even bother about another mans appearance?
Ha ha
@εnîgϻatîĸ You shouldn't talk about your Mum like that!!
Miss the time he looked like dimebag
Chris Kontos really was the best drummer Machine Head ever had.
I remember when I was 14 and I had a poster of Rob's face on my wall, now I am 37 and still here :)
awesome...
I also had a MH poster on my wall because of BME. I'm 38
Kontos for the win. It's one thing to come back, and hit these fairly "basic" riffs...but at 50yrs old to re-visit these drum tracks - respect.
Thanks
I'd hardly call the BME tracks "basic drumming"
@@Hellwyck
I'm saying I respect the hell out of him for coming back, and nailing these absolutely brutal drum tracks. They are a lot for even a younger drummer to pull off. What I was referring to as "fairly basic" was the guitar riffs - on some of the songs on that album. That said, BME pioneered a sound, and laid a foundation that the subsequent albums have stood strong on. I have been with these guys since '95, and love all of their work. Seen them many times. I'm in Phoenix and caught the 1st BME show. Was beyond amazing.
@@CK1968VAX
Thank YOU!!
Caught the 1st BME show in the States, in Phoenix. Was literally a dream-come-true to see you back behind the kit, playing these songs that were SUCH an important part of my youth.
Awesome drummer and with that Mercyful Fate sweat, hell yeah
I love this song. One of the best on the album. But then again the entire album is pure gold.
I grew up not allowed to listen to music (Pentecostal Christian household ) so when I was 13 back in 1997 I started somewhat rebelling , my musical awakenings involve machinehead and Metallica, and many others. First time I heard machine head it was like a million volts going through my body I remember my friend putting them on really loud and just being still and amazed and shocked! that's how I started playing guitar. I used to listen to machinehead in secret , along with metallica, nirvana, alice in chains, etc etc. Forever a fan of machinehead! 🤘🎶🤘🎵🤘
Fair play to you, a loving God would never deny you beautiful music that makes you feel alive like heavy metal does!
Trinitarian Pentecostal or Oneness Pentecostal/Apostolic??
Great seeing Logan and Kontos back in the band. Would love to see this line up record a new album together and go back to touring with a band opening for them.
They are touring all over the place with this.
That could be difficult. Kontos had been fired in '95 because of his lack of motivation for larger tours, and Logan because of his alcohol and drug abuse after ,,The More Things Change" (maybe resulting from the bigger successes and more intense tour-album-cycles, I don't know). Meanwhile, Machine Head are in another scale than 25 years ago. I mean, I really would appreciate it, when they returned to the band full-time, but how do you prevent that they quit again, with giant tours in the back, combined with the enormous expectations to release another killer album?
GunsRazorsKnives - Dave > Chris
I’m a massive fan of McLain as well. Thought he was the perfect fit for MH, his drumming on all of their albums was top shelf, especially on TMTC.
I realise that, I just wish they would go back to having a different band opening for them, instead on just ‘A night with Machine Head’.
Que pena q no siguieron juntos, honrrando a unos de los mejores discos del metal 😊
Brings back the Machine Head shows I attended in SF in the early 90s many times over!!! Never gets OOOLLDDD!!! This song in the FUCKING PIT....... Chills People...... CHILLS!!! SSSSLLLLLOOWWWWW!!!!
The mix on these studio versions is incredible! Never heard such crisp sounding metal \m/
Check out their Dynamo 95 set, it's a thing of beauty and they are recreating it just a little bit cleaner, I'm stoked to bits hearing this
@Arised if it was recorded to a click they may have just edited a couple of takes together.
Robb hits the mic with his chin a fair amount of times and is off axis ...... not totally live
@Arised Yeah can easily see it.
Mertanian Oh definitely. Bring this out on DVD . I’d buy it in a heartbeat
I remember getting this on cassette, walking home listening to it on my walkman and almost shitting myself it was so heavy. Still one of the greatest albums ever.
Seriously heavy
Goddamn, Kontos is, was and is the only drummer who is officially allowed to drum this!
Smoking fine good weed for the first time months after the previous one...
Combined with listening to this = pure happiness.
So high, greetings, from above, metal pals.
This brings me back. This album was ahead of its time.
@metal matt Will do. 👍🏻 Yeah, they were also ahead of their time and Pantera is my all-time favorite band. at least top 3.
Mr. Flynn's voice improves over time like good wine.
This album been in my life 4 a solid 25 years 💪

#Me2 ;)
Facts!
Mee too Bro...till now addicted to it...the only Metal cd in my car...play it during long journey..won't get sleepy...😁
Best album ever machine head burn my eyes
Everything's sounds so awesome but those drums are on another level... and that snare drum is poppin! ;]
Kontos can't be topped in MH. Facts.
Temerarios
Chris is the business welcome back mate! SSSLLOOOOWWWW
God i hope "Old" is next on the set list
They're playing the whole album live, with original lineup!
Every once in awhile I come back to Machine Head...Rob and the guys really know how to pull me out of a spiritual funk and back on my true more positive path ❤️🤘
Best version I've ever heard of this song.. nailed it
Better than Dinamo '95? 🤔🤔🤔🤔😕😕😕😕
Well it's in a controlled environment.
Dynamo '97 was the best.
@@alegrin1 True but this one gets a bonus point for the lack of Robb's cornrows ;P
This is by far the most powerful Machine Head line up, by far!
The energy Chris brings is priceless. Don't lose him again.
so glad i moved to ANTIOCH in the mid 90s. opened up my metal vocabulary immensely. i returned back to OHIO with soooo much great music upon my return back home. BAY AREA....NOTHING COMPARES
I´m 40. Still listen and drink a fucking Beer. Memories. One of the 5 best Albums all time for me
So bruuuuuutal! It makes feel 16 years old learning Chris Kontos parts on my pillows!
Oilid Fuck yeah dude, same here 🤟🏽
Haha good luck learning the parts back then :P
@@paulcosta5854Sadly agree. All the agression of youth has disappeared
Now this the MH I fell in love with!
Exactly!
Yes
the ultimate MACHINE HEAD CLASSIC
Those 5150s are the REAL “original lineup” superstars going on in these live BME videos! 🔥
I agree with you completely!!!
I completely agree about those 5150's!!! First 2 albums had the best guitar tones ever recorded for metal. I actually use .....the more things change as a reference in my studio!! Works great for tuning your studio or car!!!
Saw them almost 25 years ago as Slayer support in Cascais Portugal. My first big metal show. I remember as if it was yesterday! 1994-11-20
None but my own and the rage to overcome were the best tracks
Can't wait for the re-recorded None but My Own!!!
They played None But My Own at Wacken that one year I was there.. I went absolutely insane and lost a shoe in the mosh pit. I found it after the concert somewhere on the ground when everybody left.. It was the perfect ending to a perfect concert :)
You can tell they're loving it being back together. Machine FUCKING Head.
Can you guys imagine how amazing all post-BME Machine Head albums would have sounded with Kontos on drums? The guy's still killing it!
He has ultimate groove and great fills!
Bud No I can’t, Dave is 10x the drummer Chris is and thank god Dave joined MH or we wouldn’t have the great albums that followed. Chris didn’t cut it back then and still doesn’t.
@@caseyplooy1696 do you play drums? Or do you just play with yourself?
Neil Power Yes I do both.
MH died when Kontos left..
1994 , 16 years old i bought burn my eyes and still remains my fav. MH album.
Logan & Kontos make the old good vibes. Best member since first Album!
Enjoyed the hell out of partying with you guys!!! The Abyss Bar Houston,Texas!!! Burn my eyes tour. \m/\m/
Not sure why anyone would dislike this? Must be pop lovers!
Those guitar tones can move a mountain, very Crowbar-esque.
Kontos is a huge inspiration, so glad to hear him again.
MASSIVE.
Come to Brazil!
Much respect to Phil and Dave!!! But this couldn't have happened at a better time.. love this album and of course the line up..🤘😈🤘
Robb forced them to leave by not allowing them to have creative input. Robb woke up when it was far too late though, and lost 2 of the best musicians on the planet because of his ego.
"couldn't of happened" 🤔
Man I've been waiting to see the original line up for like forever
Kontos back in the band, playing as if he never left, wearing a Mercyful Fate-Allover-Print ugly as fuck is just awesome! 🤘😄
Please do an American tour with this lineup Robb. It is much needed. Young MH fans like me have been dreaming for this day since they first heard BME...
slipknotmfkr3 they are. Nov/Dec
I love it. Burning my eyes is a fuckin masterpiece. One of best metal albuns even created.
*Burn
Remarkable!! After all these years!
The 1990s, so simple tunes and bits forming such a great song. The voice is so mature! WOW!
Al looking very comfortable with each other. Epic!
Goddamn I love that crushing Guitar tone, Kontos’ punishing Drum sound, and Jared holding down the Bass as well as Adam ever did. Good shit!
Machine FUCKING Head
Those disco hits on the china then into the dbl time part for the solo been ripping you off for decades Thanks Chris 🛒
BRING THIS TO THE US!!
can't wait for "A Nation On Fire ".
Let's make a circlepitt on the last part!
Pick it up, pick it up, pick it up!
..GET UP!
PICKITUP!!
One of my favorite Machine Head songs. Fuck yes!
Sound is incredible
Best thing about this: Chris Kontos' Mercyful Fate long-sleeve! \\m//
This is so awesome, I really hope I'm gonna be able to catch you guys on tour!
Awesomeness and looking great
Kontos is a badass drummer dude
Man. The Sound.
4:19 - Robb is like "wrong note, let's record again"... Great editor forgot to remove!
holy shit you are right, this is hilarious XD
Cannot believe that stupid editor fail. Noticed that from the day this was released
Can't be completely perfect.
Machine Head 🤘🤘🔥😈 Burn my eyes 🔥❤️
👁👁 burn my eyes still the most s1c album out there yo!!!…💯♠️🔥
Hell yes! Damn, Kontos is just a beast and Mader makes this just so heavy.
Well, Robb is always a HEAD tho .. doesn’t matter what kind of cheese you’re, he’s one flexible guy who can bring a good little MACHINE sound like this one. Never stop getting better and better. 🙌🏻 This lineup is just killer for me. Bring back the old MH
I didnt even know what I missed in Machine Head until I heard Kontos playing again with them..DAT GROOVE!!!
Love it when they pull a "Crowbar" at the end.
This is soooooo great!
*_T H I S_* is the raw and pure old school stuff I miss so much these days!
Next up: TEN TON HAMMER (yea I know it's not on BME)
SUPER!!!!!!
I heard this song for the first time 16 years ago on a road trip. My sister's boyfriend brought two compilation cassettes with him, one of Oceansize and Incubus and other bands with a similar funk/prog sound, while the other was a heavy metal compilation with Slipknot, Korn and this... I still have the cassette but until now I had no idea who most of the bands on it were. Best surprise ever!
Chris Kontos. for me it is the best drummer the band has had.
Kontos! I love u !
LOVE YOU GUYS!
Favourite song off the album, an absolute fucking monster, vivid memories of the chills down my 16 year old spine.
GREATEST!!!
Que brutal tremendo clásico, reviviendo el burn que hasta ahora lo escucho por la batería que es explosiva llena de energía y poder, un super disco arriba machine 🍻🍻🤘
One of the baddest workout motivation pieces. "So pick it up, pick it up, pick it up! Get up!"
I love it
Sounding phenomenal. AUSTRALIAN tour will totally go off. Let's get that in the calendar please !!
sloooooooooow
SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW..... Fucking heavy!
Read this comment as he said it. 🤘
Machine Head: No gimmicks. Just overall raw talent and skills that kill.
Keep that s@#$ up!
🤘😎🤘
The only MACHINE HEAD!!!!!
Bring this tour to brisbane australia please!!...i went to the burn my eyes tour in brisbane in the 90s...their first tour in australia...tour down under again for oldtimes sake!!!
I saw them in Brisbane on the TTAOE tour, 2005 I think? Was a great gig, they played for ages and played a heap of covers at the end.
One of my fav Machine Head songs
So awesome to watch this 👍
I love that they're dropping these studio versions. I swear this song has never sounded heavier. Pretty cool to see a professional like Logan playing an affordable piece of gear and sounding that great.
As fresh as the day it was recorded.....
Don't Break the Oath :-)
I know - I so want that shirt! The guy is all about the legit stuff - everything I've noticed him wearing so far in pics/interviews made me go "good taste!"
Such a sick big fat crispy crunchy and tight sound. Love it.
Love it!
GOOD OLD MACHINE HEAD!!!!!!!!
THE REAL DEVILES ARE BACK!!!!!!!!!
Always loved that drumfill at 3:27 - my second favorite song of this masterpiece!
KONTOS IS BACK!
Tony Curtis Unfortunately.
Next album should sound like this, Burn my eyes and the more things change are the best cds they ever did IMO
FOREVER \MACHINE-HEAD/!💪💪💪🤘🤘👊👊👍👍🔥🔥
