At that time, and I bought their CD in 1993, it was NEW and neckbreaking. It is still the best Metal outro, stepping out of the carnage, unphased by the flames and debris. Long time fan here.

You should only forgive Robb if he doesn't do another Catharsis and completely take over the writing process for future albums.......Not saying this isn't awesome, because it is! But that doesn't fix the key issue for Machine Head's future.
So good. Burn My Eyes is the absolute best Machine Head album even to this day. The grooves, solos, beats, vocals on that album were practically flawless. Sad they never could capture that sound again.

The band has great skill when they put their minds to it, but most records only feature some of their best tracks out there. It gets repetitive really quick, especially on the older outputs. Only The Blackening managed to keep me captured from start to finish upon first listening. Especially since I had only recently entered music school to learn e-guitar when they dropped this monster of an album. You get a wholly different level of attachment to a band when you are determined to let them (and others) be your motivation whilst learning an instrument ;)
