Seen these guys live three times. They're like a fucking drug, just can't get enough. Best live act ever, no arguments. People are hating on the Catharsis album, I think it's epic. These guys won't be around forever, savour the time they'll take to tour for their fans, three hour sets and a genuine love for their fans. Rare to see these days. MACHINE FUCKIN' 'EAD!!!
I cannot even begin to explain how incredible this song is. From the lyrics to the guitar. Every time I listen its that "Holy fucking shit that is fucking insane" Few songs keep that feeling instilled in people
Saved my life on so many occasions, and that was with their criminally underrated album The Burning Red. If it were not for these guys I'd be six feet under. Bless them xxx
Tell you what this song aged so well, wasnt a fan of the album but this song hits , fantastic levels melodic hits, guitar riffs and that intro 👌 Then you have a breakdown .
I denied this at first. For a very long time I did not want to give it a second thought, second chance. Now here I am, hearing this song over and over again...
As a long term MH fan (since 94' and counting) I can't believe there are so many cry-baby comments from TRVE METHVVL warriors who cannot deal with musical variety and experimentation. You don't like this? Fine, listen to something else. It's not bad just different. In fact it's a great track. I personally would rather listen to this than 'Who we are' for example which for me wasn't a successful experiment by the band 'Is there anybody out there' too. I love Machine Head and always will. I might not always love everything they do but they remain, for me, one of the greatest bands of all time.
I don't hear any sort of experimentation here. On the contrary, this is radio-friendly as hell. And the part of the album that isn't as radio-friendly has Robb trying to be hard vocally and lyrically beyond the threshold of cringe. Put simple, it's not the change in style itself that bugs the people, it's the quality of that change.
Mate they've gone backwards in a massive way it's so cringey now this band I held above metallica at one stage now my skin just crawls everything from his vocals to their playing now just sucks balls if ever a band never stayed true to them selves this is it. Robb is just a whiny childish bitch
I first heard this song a couple moths ago when I was on Spotify and the minute I heard the song start I have never not loved this song. I love the way the different styles of music play into the song together and it’s one of the best things I’ve ever heard in my entire life
@@unleash-hell6666 technically Oakland California. Both cities are kinda rivals here in Cali. Lol But Robb grew up in Fremont, then lived in Martinez for a bit until moving to his current location. They have their studio they use in Oakland. But now Dave and Phil are gone. Phil lives in Dublin. Great guy.
Brilliant album in my opinion especially love bastards and hope begets hope. Although when I first heard it I wasn't to keen but its grown on me now its on my lockdown play list.
Ever since Through Ashes of the Empire I felt they were back on track, but now I'm not sure how I feel. I'll still buy the album and got tickets for the January 30th show, but I feel this is going to be an album I have to force myself to get into.
Why would anyone force himself into an album. If you don't like it, don't listen to it. I like Metallica but I don't like death magnetic. And I never will.
dont worry. they are sure to bring out four or five singles months before the album totally ruining the vibe when you firs get the album.. gay marketing ploys are what mh are about nowadays
The first time i heard this song i was like "its good, but i excepted something different" the second time "i kinda like it more" the third one: CAN YOU FEEL MY CATHARSIS!!??
That's exactly why I'm waiting for the album, and cannot completely trust any critics who say they've listened to it once. We'll see in a week I guess. Still, this songs gets better any time I hear it.
i LOVED it. I was a bit nervous at start but this song is good! WHEN YOU LISTEN TO SOMETHING IT IS BETTER TO FORGET ALL PAST WORK OF THE BAND AND JUST THINK: "DO I LIKE THIS SONG INDEPENDENTLY FROM ANY OTHER WORK THEY'VE DONE? WOULD I LIKE THE SONG IF I DIDNT KNOW THIS WAS MACHINEHEAD?"
Mr Skatosakoulas ...OMFG!!!!...THE CHOURS!!!! WOOOOOOOOWWW!!...ROBBS VOICE MAKES ME CRY!! THE WORDS & SINGING IS TOO F GOOD TO BE TRUE!! I LOVE YOU MACHINE HEAD FOREVER!! THIS SONG HELPED MY FROM! FROM SUICIDE!! THE WORDS ARE EXTREMELY POWERFUL!! HE & I...NEVER HEARD A CHOURS SO POWERFUL AND EMOTIONAL!!

People are whiny because they need music sounding like full in their face all the time. As much as I love "full in the face" music I think people who declines any kid of softer approaches are sad individuals. This song anyway still holds a good balance between the soft melodic and the hard in your face parts. So none of both have to complain I think. Music is emotions. Anger and hate are not the only emotions in the world.
Upon my initial listen I wasn't too impressed but after around 20 listens or so, I'm really liking this. The chrous alone is what kept me coming back and giving it more listens. I appreciate the beauty of this song and can relate to it in a sense. I think we as MH fans tend to just want the same formula over and over and want BME or The Blackening Part Duece but how boring would that be!? I respect and am liking this new direction they are going in. I think the rest of the album will give us Metal Junkies our fix of the heaviness.

Wow this song has really split people. Either people love it or loads of winey bastards moaning where’s the heavy Burn My Eyes days stuff. Rob had repeatedly said this album wasn’t going to be that heavy. No idea why so many people are surprised that it’s still not. Most melodic yet was his words as well. Blackening my fav album, but absolutely loving this. Just like Rob said Burning Read style with Blackening production. Can’t wait for the album now!!
92dunbar, I agree, after listening to this song I can't wait for the album. To me personally, the fragile moments in Machine Head songs is what is making it so heavy once it explodes again. They have done such build ups on Through the Ashes and The Blackening - and I feel like this song has a lot of these moments and I love it.
+Robert Graefe, exactly, dude! That's pretty much what I was coming here to say. It's not always easy to make a great song that rocks out hard from start to finish, and the softer moments serve as a nice setup to the heavier parts. The contrast between the parts make it seem even heavier when it hits.
92dunbar Couldn’t have said it better. I enjoy every one of their albums excluding super charger, a few songs on it are ok, bulldozer is awesome imo. This song reminds me a lot of Ashes, Bloodstone, and The Burning Red. I like it. It’s growing on me more with each listen.
