ECO473 I'm sorry, but I have to disagree. Nothing against Bing, but NO-ONE ever wore a tux with as much class and flair as Dean. In fact, I'm willing to bet that as a baby he even looked debonair in a babygrow (or what I think Americans call a romper suit)!!👼

Deans idol was Bing, Dean bowed to no one, not even Frank, now I'm not saying he bowed to Bing either, but he did tilt his a head a little downward for him. -Not literally, it's an expression-
Charles Malmros Oh, absolutely. Dean acknowledged many times over the years his huge respect for Bing as one of his greatest influences, along with the Mills Brothers, when he was first starting out. All I was trying to say, in my clumsy way, was that Dean wore clothes, whether a formal tux or even casual golfing outfits, with such elegance that it was like he was born in them (if that makes any sense). I really don't think he was actually capable of looking scruffy (unless perhaps for a film role).
Kane Hearst he was Frank's idol too.

AP Actually, I've been reading a lot of books about them recently and Frank hated the name the Rat Pack, to him the word Rat had bad conentations. He wanted to call it The Clan, but Sammy wasn't to fond on that name(You can guess why), they ended up, unoffically of course, calling it The Summit, because they were at the top of the world.

this movie had some of the greatest music and a good story. try to find one number that doesn't hit it on the head. think, these guys were singing dancing acting all at the same time and being charming talented and shockingly backed by lyrics and music of the highest caliber. see the whole movie it will become a favorite. yes, they had style!

The reason why they said that was because wearing a frock coat a belt and a vest is slobbish and isn’t supposed to go together. And was seen as a disrespect.

i often tell my kids don't worry about how you dress. if you look good you look good with or without clothes. confidence equals style when you add a little kindness.
I think if your kids go out dressed like a mime or in MC Hammer-style parachute pants, no amount of confidence and kindness in the world will make them look stylish.

This was intended to be a happy drinking party movie for the ratpack but was mired by Frank firing Lawford in the Bing Role, JFK's Assanination and Frank Jr getting kidnapped during filming...Frank and the boys somberly go through the motions...Could of and Should have been better

decemberschild1217. Yep, it's a pretty lousy movie. This and Mr. Booze are great scenes but other than that...always felt Bing brought the most charm to the movie while Frank looks like he's not that into it. Also the plot stinks.

Sadly under-rated movie, almost stolen by a fabulous Peter Falk.
Indeed! Mr. Falk's work in this movie was absolutely superb. A great counterpart to the charismatic "Chairman of the Board" and the "King of Cool".
A few years later a writing team who were developing a tv series sent a script to Crosby, who sent a very nice note back explaining that he was retired, liked playing golf, and didn't want to get involved in a tv series, but he wished them well, and thought it was a great concept. Their second choice, Lee J. Cobb, was tied up with a movie commitment. And while they were discussing their next choice, the phone rang, and a voice said, "I just saw this script. I would KILL to play the cop." The writer said, "Peter, good to hear from you." And that is how Peter Falk became Columbo. An odd juxtaposition, but no one can doubt that only Falk could have made the part so totally his own. They never found out who sent Falk the script.
