Beautiful aircraft and great airlinr. I miss seeing the 747s and TWA.
TWA's final livery was excellent.
It was elegant and classy. Especially on the 747
This is outstanding footage of a classic airliner flown by what was my favorite airline. Being able to fly such an aircraft must have been really cool not to mention prestigious. Of course, along with that came tremendous risks and responsibilities.
I love TWA and I have a beautiful model of that 747.
Diecast I hope!
yes, it's a die cast
yes, it's a die cast
That was always my favorite TWA paint scheme. I'd love to go back to those days to plane spot again.
Thay used to be a great location to spot back in the day.
One of the best liveries ever, wish they finished the nose cone too
TWA was my family's go to airline and the 747...miss those days...
I loved TWA!! ❤️❤️
Broken up at Marana in 2002.
38th 747 built.
I believe that is one of the last TWA 747's retired from service.
One of my favorite liveries. Carl Icahn took an American institution and drained it dry to make a quick buck.
Agreed,,,,greedy man!
And now it looks like he may try to do the same thing with JetBlue
I used to especially enjoy the TWA tea.
And we have now the doors from this Beauty... the doors get a new life as Furniture 😌
Great catch of Air21 departing on 1L! Pics/vid of them at SFO are very, very rare.
absolutely beautiful
Thanks for the very great video.
Thanks Chase! I apperciate
Is this the sister craft to TWA 800?
Flt 800 was N93119 also a Boeing 747 -100 delivered to TWA in 1971.
It used to be TWA and it was right before it merged American back in 2001.
Hard to believe that its now part of American Airlines witch is owned by America West and Us Air
yes..Agreed....TWA was neat to see at SFO for so many years...
I'ts just a boeing 747-131 But with the Logo of Trans World Airlines (aka)( TWA)
Never understood why TWA flew the 100 series well past 20 years of service, that thing's a gas guzzler.
Long answer. They had the facilities, experience and pilots. They needed volume to overcome the Carl Icahn debacle (he had a stranglehold over them with he ability to sell cheap tickets). They started leaving the fleet shortly after this video, as I recall.
Who cares why, I'm just glad they did.
Thankfully BA still flies 747 400s into San Diego 6 months out of the year
Closer to 30 years
