HE WAS A CONSUL OF ROME
Asklepios27 Is there some other form if law you wretched woman
And a dictator
AN SHIET
GODS I WAS DIPLOMATIC THEN
A Consul of Rome.....
Even though this story is contradictory to real life historical events, I still love the physical design of this Julius Caesar.
Caesar is practically a legend even after 2,000 one of the greatest military commanders in history
And one of the most influential personalities in our history.
if Alexander was 10/10, then Caesar would be and 8, he was a lot better politician then he was a general.
Yeah, Caesar also kneeled at a statue of Alexander and said that he can't do half the things that Alexander did , sad that they made him a Templar, or at elast he should have been done like Haytham Kenway
Legatus Sedricillius Eh, Alexander's tactics, we're basic but effective for the enemy he was fighting and most of his early success was due to his father well Julius Caesar was more adaptive to most situations and was constantly thinking how can I make the enemy up early how can I make them skip breakfast etc etc, and he greatly understood how to control the people and have complete Obedience of his Legions.
Legatus Sedricillius And Alexander had a huge arrogance issue he thought he was going to be one of the Gods, or Greek Legends and and wouldn't let anyone else rule his Empire and he didn't understand morale very well his army even revolting against him a few times.
I always thought the drama around killing Caesar in this game was very funny. Octavian takes over, becomes Emperor, renames himself Augustus, and Rome becomes stronger, and stronger, and in other words, the Assassins lose. They seem really good at losing and killing a lot of people and accomplishing nothing in doing so while making it seem like a big deal.
Sellot91 Almost as if killing people doesn't always solve problems.
Sellot91 Well Aya wants Cleopatra killed so bad which it succeeded due to Augustus defeating her and Antony years later, it clouded her judgment
Sellot91 the goal wasn’t to make Rome weak, as Rome wasn’t the problem, the men with power were the problem, as they sought to oppress the people
DJ Yoda, The Hidden Ones thought that by killing Caesar they would save the republic and "freedom" What truly happened? The people, the Hidden Ones fight for, were pissed off and a long civil war has started and republic was gone. Assassins are actually good in making bad things even worse.
Флоріан Фанта Well so did the Borgias, Charles Lee and Sophia Rikkin.
I love the fact this is exactly how cleopatra introduces herself. She was in a rug
nerfvideos96 Despite popular belief no it wasn't actually a rug, it was a laundry bag. The rug was an embellishment made by hollywood for entertainment purposes, so in the context of this game it can also be forgiven.
One of the things they got right about them two
The senate literally granted him dictatorial powers of their own will. He was loved by the people and the more liberal reformers in the senate. Only the staunch conservative factions were against him.
He also worked for his position instead of just getting it
Yep one of the misconceptions of history only a group of the them killed him others ran away some even tried to help him but were held back
I always wondered why augustus wouldn't take the title, was he afraid of caesars fate or did he enjoy watching the citizens beg him to become dictator.
@@RCsFinest Both
@@GaetanoBonaparte you think so? You really think he was that vain to have citizens beg him like that...I think he didn't want to have the same fate as Caesar.
0:20 "HE WAS A COUNSUL OF ROME!" - HBO
SHAME ON THE HOUSE OF PTOLEMY
"He was my friend first, but you are right. Moving on."
That is not how Cæsar felt about Pomey's death at all.
He was absolutely livid that Pompey was killed. Cæsar believed that in doing this Ptolemy had no respect for a man who was Consul of Rome. A Roman Consul was far more powerful and renowned than even an Egyptian Pharaoh, and Ptolemy had forgotten his place.
Not only because Pompey was his friend, or at least his partner in Cæsar's climb to power, but because Cæsar wanted more than anything to bring Pompey back to Rome alive.
Had he been able, Cæsar would have been given a triumph in which Pompey, the conquered enemy General, would be publicly executed through ritualistic suffication, much as Vercingetorix was.
However, the thing is that Cæsar would have refused such a triumph, choosing instead to pardon his "friend" and welcome him back into Rome, as he did with all of the other optimates. In doing this he would have presented himself as a man who cares more about showing mercy to former friends than about personal glory, and Pompey would have owed him.
Ptolemy robbed him of this opportunity to dramatically enhance his public image, and he was understandably pissed. So much so that it was this which encouraged him to use Cleopatra to overthrow Ptolemy.
I felt the same i was let down by his poor reaction hbo did it best the whole room shit them selfs
Spot on
As you said, Caesar cares his public image, an image-conscious opportunist. It's not Ptolemy's fault wanted to ally with Caesar, but Caesar‘s who didnt ally with Ptolemy first and discuss how to capture Pompey. so imagine hes like "yeah it's kinda everyone's fault tell my biographer say I'm furious and let's move on to business..." totally makes sense
Dude. Doo you really think ceaser would execute a roman general in front of roman citizencs? And that guy being pompey magnus? Really? People would hate him for it and as you know he was a populist bro. Try to think a bit more like ceaser. He would never have done that
I doubt Caesar would publicly execute Pompey, a famous Roman General in front of Roman citizens, Caesar was known for his mercy and forgiveness during the Civil War since he pardoned many.
Despite how it ends up turning out, I love the interaction between Bayek and’s Cesar after the crash, and his line, “There will be songs of us.”
Now we must join the ships... We will be heroes of sword and mind! 🤝
I totally thought Caesar was about to be a bro. I was wrong.
0:15 Caesar didn’t nearly act this kindly to Ptolemy? He was *furious* at Ptolemy for killing his friend and basically put him on house arrest until he was spirited out of Alexandria by Pothinus, he was going to pardon him not kill him, infact Caesar was huge on clemency, if you rebelled against him but just fell on his feet and begged for forgiveness, he’d of been cool with you.
Aya overall seemed very short sighted, what did she want to do? Kill Caesar to end tyranny? Well that failed because Octavian then became Emperor, and moreover Caesar was an actually good king to his people, honestly I don’t think Caesar could’ve been manipulated so easily. Moreover it was basically Monarchy or bust, the republic by this point was dying and it was either A. Tons of civils wars and bloodshed to come (which had basically been going on for a long time already) which would end in the fall of Rome which I don’t need to tell you would have unknowable ripple effects. Or B. Unite Rome under one ruler, one figure, one decisive ruler who’d bring the Empire in order.
Maybe this Caesar was different to the real life Caesar. But also I think the Assasins are most often in the wrong so to me it's not suprising she wanted to do that.
Aya was a Hoe with power
Uh, for the record, there were basically like 3 civil wars in Rome's 500 year history as a Republic. In the next 500 years there would be like a civil war every 15 years or so. So if your concern is about the people; then murdering every Caesar is definitely the best course and fixing the Republic.
Let's not worship tyrants. Julius Caesar was badass, but he could have fixed the institutions rather than destroy them.
Shame on the house of Ptolemy for such barbarity. Shame!
LoL not more barbaric than thousands of innocent lives he killed when he took their territories during the Gallic war
The real shame is that history is always written by the victors
NearestGalaxy He was referencing a scene from a TV series
NearestGalaxy HE WAS A CONSUL OF ROME!!!
Classified 07 a consul of rome....
@@NearestGalaxy they killed thousands of innocent roman lives as well
Ugh, the portrayal of Cæsar in this game is so poor you would think it was written by Cato.
Romans said lord? They hated the idea of kings, they would have said Imperator not LORD CAESAR....
ShadowsFate To be honest, the only difference between a king and an emperor is the size of their territory
Romans would still never say lord, that was derived from kings and medieval times.
DOMINUS
Dominus was only used for slaves or those who worked under the supervision of their master, Roman soldiers would have said Imperator or General.
You also have a problem with them speaking English?
"Many men have doubted Aya. All have found themselves dead by her blade." That's some GREAT foreshadowing.
Bayek fucking loves his wife, and I'm all here for it.
Why the hell did Caesar have a Scythian bow and no scutum?
Lol he probably didn’t even know how to use a bow the romans hired auxiliaries and mercenaries to do that shit
1. Assassinating Caeser taught the Hidden Ones that they cannot kill their targets unless they have proof of their corruption.
2. That is why the Master Assassins scolded Arno for killing a Templar without their permission.
3. Assassins kill their targets after destroying their reputation and revealing their true colors to the public or disguising their targets' death as tragic accidents.
"Ready yourself Caesar, this is worse than any battle you had"
Caesar: *thinks of alecia*
"It cant be that bad!"
It would be cool to see a sequel as Mark Antony and Cleopatra as the new antagonists. While you serve Octavian and also get to participate in the battle of actium with your own warship while also adding Rome and some nearby provinces as an additional map
Idk if its cus I love Roman Empire but this right here shows the Assassins being worse than the Templars.
Sonikku El Hedgehog Yes you are blinded by ancient Roman propaganda.
Nah, Assassinating Caesar was one of the dumbest mistakes of history.
I have a feeling if Ceasar did aided the creed one way or the other the Assassins would over look the fact he was bad to the people, I mean they canceled Assassin Creed Civil War cus Abraham was supposedly Templar allied.
Caeser was great to his people what are you talking about?!
Sonikku El Hedgehog Caesar introduced massive land reform and was loved by the peoole, it's was the aristocrats that hated him
Caesar was a Populare, not a Dictator, the Senate just killed him for Land Privilegies.
I am sorry for my english,i'am braziliam.
Caesar was quite literally a "Dictator for Life". Not saying the Optimates were any better but ye.
Caesar stood for the people with his land reforms it was the aristocracy that hated him and his death plunged rome into a civil war, if that’s your definition of a tyrant then I don’t know what is.
Puking Panda i study ancient latin,”dictator” ()in the Romans’ mankind had a different mean, was more like “emperor” or “pontifex maximum” not “tyran”,the senatus elected “dictator” and then killed him
Dictator had a different meaning than what it means today
Funny how roman legionaries carry bows in this game. I could be wrong, it could be an auxiliary unit somehow getting access to a roman citizens advanced amour. They really need to do a lot of research on the roman army.
I get what you are saying i think they did that to stop you from climbing away all the time but they could just do pilums. In reality only auxiliaries would use them like you said
The oversimplified history is bad, sad, and boring.
President Panda oversimplified, you know the game isnt just about him?
Apollo the sun god My complaints are universal for the whole game.
President Panda
The only thing cool was the actual assassination. With all the conspirators.
Pompeius, Ptolemy, Cleopatra and Pothinus were also terribly done (besides the fact that figures like Arsinoe, and the whole alexandrian crisis never really appeared...)
Love the game for its world, hate it for the bad inclusion of history in the main story...
Agreed, it is an eyesore
This game is an insult to Roman's history
That's why we love it.
Why even taking this game seriously? Even after seeing black egyptians mate?, WE WUZ ASSASINZ N SHIET
what greater insult than to portray Caesar as the Roman Tony Montana
Because black Egyptians are/were real. Nubians are/were black. Southern Egyptians were black, Greeks and Romans in Egypt were light, and many other Egyptians were brown and possibly mixed. Ancient Egypt was very multicultural. If you ever go to Egypt you can see it for yourself with all the different styles from different countries and the various skin colours shown. Pro-white or Pro-black arguments on Ancient Egypt are both stupid since the place was multi-racial and a major part of the ancient world where cultures came together.
A lot of Egyptians are black. wtf are you talking about
Aww i really liked that guy :(
The dice is cast... was a statement with a meaning behind it after crossing the rubicon.
It wasn't ceasar's little catchphrase
If you listen to his speech at the end before killing him then you can see that he was the good guy and that aya was wrong
you do know that he was leader of the order right? have you played any of the missions in all egypt where the order obviously did bad things? speeches do not overpower actions
elessal
Julius Caesar was not the leader of the egyption order. He came way after they were made their branch. He was the leader of the roman branch. By killing Caesar Aya has just started a civil war and all Caesar wanted to do was to help his people no matter the cost
The Emerald Snorlax I think long term, better it was snuffed out faster than let the Templar like organization grow more
addy addu why kill the templars they fight for order and peace while assassin's fight for "freedom" which really is just chaos
They fight for a 1984 type order and peace. Read the book, and you'll understand why the Assassins are better.
Those gladii are waaaaaay too big (like double the size of an actual Roman gladius.) And no Roman soldiers seem to be holding a scutum. They also aren't using Pila.
They just cannot get everything right when it comes to Rome can they?
I only give it a pass because the romans were like side characters in this game they seemed to focuse more on the greek side but i will expect more if they make one in Ancient Rome
Romans were big
Some were gigantic in size
If Caesar was such a horrible tyrant, why did the people of Rome burn down the city and scream for all of the conspirators heads when they found out he had been murdered?
The ultimate irony of this scene in the game is that it was actually the senate that was trying to control the people with their inner circle of rich oligarchs and nobles.
I thought the Assassin order was supposed to be fighting for the free-will of the people? Not a bunch of snobby backstabbing aristocrats?
Mostly wanted to play this game because of the inclusion of Julius Caesar. Now, I'll just wait for a price drop. Thanks for the compilation!
Grow up
if that is the main reason you want to play a game then just don't play any and read a book about cesar instead.
I suggest Commentarii de Bello Gallico by Caesar himself. Great book.
Christopher Marlowe Some people like seeing history come to life dude. I like history a lot, and seeing it come to life was something I loved about the Assassins Creed games, and when Origins came out I knew quite a bit about Caesar so it was a shame this is how they chose to depict him.
I was really looking forward to it i was hyped when they finally name dropped him but was let down about how they went about it
"the tyrant is dead you are free now" is so cringe worthy.
I wish you could have chosen to saved and protect Caesar here.
8:43 best scene in the entire game
Lol. I get it that they’re not historically accurate games, but what purpose is served by being so wrong?
The senators saying “We want a Rome that offers Justice, peace, and land to all its citizens, not just the privileged few!” No they absolutely did not. Caesar brought about some of the most revolutionary land reforms in Roman history, and was widely regarded as a populist.
and remember the first guy tiberius gracchus tried it peacefully without military force and was beaten to death with table legs by the optimate senators then they killed 600 of his supporters then they granted themselves immunity from that clear murder they did
All this effort to historical accuracy and they don't even pronounce Caesar right.
Historical inspiration yes but not accuracy.
I believe his name pronounce as " Kaiser " or " Kaisar " ?
the devs straight up swapped Caesar and Brutus' personalities in the game just so the former was seen as the brutal dictator while the latter was the nice dude friend of the peasants.
Caesar was a member of the Populares, Brutus was a member of the Optimates. Caesar irl was assassinated because he was popular with the common folk, his policy was to give land to the people. His land reforms redistributed it to the poor, leading to be loved by ordinary folk but hated by the conservative Brutus and co. for his repeated afronts to the status quo. They made Brutus want to give Rome's citizens their land. What a joke. It's genuinely sickening if you care about history. I want old AC back.
When a bad character kills a good character.
When bad character kills a literal God
Exactly what I’m saying
"You focus on driving. I will keep this fools at bay". Naver imagined i would hear this words directed to Julius Caesar.
Killing Caesar was the greatest mistake in Roman history.
Palpatine killed cesaer because he’s the senate heheheheh.... heh.......
Julius Caesar was a good man. Killing him was a terrible mistake in game and IRL.
he was a vile power-hungry narcissist
There’s no evidence of him being a good man lmaoo. Do you know how much unnecessary blood is on this man’s hands just for entertainment purposes and the weird obsession of world domination. Like bruh, get your little corner and govern your people and make sure they are clean, happy, and well fed. That’s it. Men die because they think they should own the dirt, trees, and sky. Filthy scum, and he’s 5’7, not the towering giant they made him in ac.
The real world Romans would have been quite intimidated by the size of these gladii...
To be fair, they were using the longer Hispaniensis model during this time, but yeah, the weapons and armor were a big disappointment. It's a shame you don't see it depicted often.
Wouldn't it make more sense for Caesar to be on the side of Assassins since he was a reformist?
No way. All he cared about was himself. He wanted power, and he was willing to do anything to secure it.
@@rosskerr1439 says who? Try a history book.
@@rosskerr1439 How to say "I know literally nothing about Julius Ceasar's politics" without actually saying you know nothing about Julius Ceasar's politics.
Idk, but it definitely make more sense for him to be 5”7.. why is he a damn giant in this game.
@@Akiraspin Bruh, everything we know about Caesar was that while he made good reforms, he made every effort to consolidate power to himself and was a megalomaniac. He was not a good person; he was just an effective one.
He deserved his death. So does any tyrant.
THE Julius Caesar is finally in an AC game and they kill him after 15 minutes?? WTF!!! They could have had him as the big bad of the series for an entire trilogy!!! They better bring in Augustus in the next one or I'm going to be pissed.
they will. Aya is now Amunet and is the leader of the Assassins in Rome, so Octavian, Mark Antony and Cleopatra are her next targets
Andree Tungcab Assassins supported Augustus (Octavian) against Mark Anthony and Cleopatra. Its already known that Aya killed Cleopatra, but idk about Anthony.
Mo Hadri Well in my POV, Octavian might be betray the Assassins later due to the fact he may know or may have known they murdered Caesar, may resulting to Aya alias Amunet's persecution and maybe even execution.
Andree Tungcab Sorry I was thinking of another emperor hahaha, Octavian and Antonius formed their alliance to kill the Assassin backed army led by Brutus and co. When Augustus and Antonius/Cleopatra went to war, Im guessing the Assassins did something to influence the side of (the new Emperor) Augustus....seeing as they (Aya) killed Cleopatra and maybe even Antonius. No way they would back the side of the woman they eventually killed in her own palace
Mo Hadri I guess both Aya and Augustus planned on betraying each other maybe for the fact Aya now has Cleopatra killed and Augustus has Mark Antony eliminated.
But doesn't it state in one of the Ezio titles that Brutus killed Caesar as an Assassin? You can even wear his armor! Ubisoft doesn't care about such things as contradictions of their own story it seems.
All the guys here that stabbed Ceasar, including Brutus were assassins. And just because the armor belonged to Brutus doesn't mean he wore it all the time. Besides, Brutus only got the armor late into his time as an assassin, when he became a master assassin. Ceasar was Brutus's first assassination, so why would he already have his master assassin armor?
I'm gonna trust you on this one, in that case I'm happy that they thought of that!
But there was actually an error in the scene, but only a small one, nothing to major. Funny enough it relates to the armor of Brutus, but more specifically the dagger that comes along with it. Because it was established that it was that dagger that Brutus stabbed Ceasar with. But in the scene in Origins it was a normal looking dagger, as opposed to the rather unique look of the one in Brotherhood (that was actually the reason I watched the video, to check if it was the same dagger). But I think that can be easily overlooked, since the dagger in Origins was only shown for a few seconds.
Jonah Steinfeld It was probably upgraded when Brutus fought Octavian.
@@Sc0rpJoe yeah I’m gonna call bullshit on half the senate being assassins. 23 men stabbed Caesar
So disappointed. Pompeus was like a brother to Caesar and Caesar cried when saw his cutted head. And what we see in AC Origins?:
"Oh no
Anyway..."
This is not history. So disappointed
That could have been a piece of propaganda by Caeser. Some historians say he definitely faked it while others say he was being genuine.
@@Local_idiot-u8h like, people forget that most of what we know about Caesar was written by caesar or under his instruction. he was a propaganda artist
8:42 "There will be songs about us, Bayek!" The betrayal that comes later made me so depressed...
I had already grown to hate the Assassins. But making them responsible for Caesar's death made me detest them more than ever. Now I want to play Rogue and butcher the bastards.
And thus... Rome was plunged into a bloody civil war that was only stopped by a dictator
I want to see an Assassin's creed game take place during Emperor Constantine's reign over the Empire.
So Ubisoft is telling us that Caesar, who was good to the common man, is a bad guy? What?
SomeKidWithNoSkills He became when Cleopatra seduced him. Tbf, he was just nice to the Romans, not to the people he conquered.
SomeKidWithNoSkills, No, they do not. Temaplrs are not bad, there is no good or bad in Assassin's Creed.
Ubisoft is really bad at historical fact
At the scene where ceaser is informed about the battle one of his men says salve not ave. Ave means hail salve means hello. So he just said hello ceaser.
Caesar was great man, beloved be the people of Rom. He started out as hard working yet mischievous man and grew to be Reformator, whom the people gladly accepted as their Dictator. His death lead to nothing but civil war.
Yet the one thing that dissapoints me most is that his greatness which he conveyed not only with his mind but also with his physique comes way to short.
With his bright hair and almost black eyes he must have seemed more than just mysterious and cunning. Whilst most people had an average height of 5 to 5.5 feet, Caesar stood 6 feet tall. It must have been amazing to stand next to him.
Virgin AC Caesar: You are right, Ptolemy.
Chad HBO Caesar: HE WAS A CONSUL OF ROME!
How did I already know that Ubisoft would completely rape history again? Like holy shit this is the cringiest mess I've ever seen, and it pains me to think that people will play these games and go "yup, that's what happened".
Literally no-one thinks that its an 100% represantation of history.
Jonah Steinfeld Ikr, who tf is going to look at a single game and go "Yup, this is 100% fact."? They would be morons to assume that, and this game is just a GAME.
just a random dude 77 It even says in the beginning after you start the game: "This game is inspired by historical events", not "This game is a 100% accurate depiction of what went down back then"
Kurthimself like assassins existed back then. Assassin existed around the 11-12th century. Then they disappeared and presumbly die. Even If they continued Living after that, their shia sect has ended since long.
Well there are lot of retarded kids playing games these days so I won't be surprised if they really think this is what happens judging from ignorant comment here 😂
Woah, killing ceasar personaly, damn this game: (
So from what I catch is: Assassin-Templar war literally happened because the Hidden Ones (soon to be The Assassins) believed Cassius's conspiracies against Caesar, and thus the Hidden Ones also participated in killing Caesar, the real Father of Understanding.
13:40 “OCTAVION!! THIS IS THE LAST OF MY HAMON, TAKE IT!!!!!”
SHIZZZAAAAAA!!!
Fun fact: Caesar was actually stabbed only 5 times befoe he died and all of the stabs were superficial excet for one stab between the ribs. The last stab he got while he was alive was from Brutus and it was as stab to the dick as surprisingly showed in the end of this clip.
Giulius ceasar in real life was a legend in videogame worst villain of assassin's creed franchise
Because the alleged weeping on the statue was not in Rome but in Spain.. AC origins have just made their depictions really bad this time.
Bobi d Drummer what are you talking about?
Apollo the sun god Alexander’s statue was placed in Spain, as a testament to how far Rome went in conquering the world.
What.... Egypt was a client/puppet of the Roman Reublic, there was only one law around the Mediterranean and that was Roman law. Caeser would spat at the fact the this child king saw it as a alliance after showing him a Comsuls head! Honestly if I have anything to say Assassins Creed is a great series but this game spits on everything our great romans history was written about. If Ptolemy threatened Caeser to kill every last Roman he would’ve done exactly as what he did IRL but with more threats, show this child king exactly what romans are made of
this clearly shows that assassins are worse than the Templar order, killing caesar is so ignorant. Didnt he introduce land reforms that helped the poor, didnt he make Egypt and Rome rich ? and the assassins are supposed to kill bad people ? he was a hero
SanFrancisco Bay, Assassins tend to make things worse. If you think of that, Assassins do that quite often.
Sometimes it’s vice versa. In brotherhood The Borgias were actual bastards and the assasins took care of em.
Ptolemy kinda reminds me of Joffrey.
That is exactly what I was about to type lol Ptolemy's a bitch
Except not as good.
Well I think accorting to history, he was a little shit...
Tommen, not Joffrey! Tommen was a stupid puppet like the pharao.
James L Henry VI was the inspiration for Joffrey and Aeris II
Who else was so triggered by how freaking large they made the gladius look?
"HE WAS A CONSUL OF ROME!!!"
Where is that part?
i actually liked the iconic "you too my child"
Stupid how the show the senators and thinking of the common people when it was just the opposite. Caesar and his faction were the one who were loved by the people. The senators just wanted to keep their power because Caesar was getting too much of it. Caesar was fixing Rome and luckily his great nephew would continue his work.
7:07 just noticed that was foreshadowing.
13:58 that is one of the most brutal assassination scene in the game done by him.imagine the pain of getting stabbed exactly on the balls.i wish no body die such s death.i mean literally on the balls 😱😱😱
Glad I never played this game. They made Caesar look like a fool. Black washed ptolemy and Cleopatra. And sh*t all over a historical period that needs no embellishment.
Neither of them look black.
you're wrong
@@0x0michael about what exactly?
Why can't these people ever get Cleopatra right? According to historical accounts she was both beautiful and calculating. Sexually alluring and yet we get these empty shells from shows like HBO's Rome or Julius Caesar from 2002. This coming from someone how genuinely loved HBO's Rome but seriously. Come on. And this game's version of Cleopatra is no different.
Nothing from history confirmed her beauty.
i bet you didn't play the game
@@0x0michael And you're absolutely right I was too busy going on vacations around the world and making money but thanks for letting us know how boring you are. :)
Caesar just...accepting Pompey’s death was just so wrong. He was furious. Old friend or not Pompey was not Ptolemy’s to kill, that was a big no no to the Romans. He would’ve been far more useful to Caesar alive than dead. He probably would’ve had him pardoned, done some public apology/reunification thing to show the Romans how merciful and great Caesar was.
9:37 also can be heard in Fallout (BOS)
“Many men have doubted Aya. All have found themselves dead by her blade” Caesar included
I am the SENATE ~ Cezar
Squiddy Pearl It’s treason then
They should have made the scene historically correct. They rolled out the carpet on the floor, to symbolize to Caesar, that they give Cleopatra to him.
Caesar was famously balding; it would take 10 secs to check that out on google, when the creators have had 2 years. It might be trivial, but it's the attention to detail that separates a good game and a great game!
13:37 SHIZAAAAAA
Why do people keep blaming assassins creed for killing Caesar? Him getting stabbed by everyone is what actually happened in history.
Assassins dickrider calm down it's called criticism
cant speak for everyone, but for me its the realisation.
1. women? in the senate? aegyptian women in the senate? cmon, patres conscripti (dont remember english translation, it was how the senators were often called) would've screamed and point a finger at her the moment she had tried to enter. she couldnt have been there, neither could've Bayek.
2. Caesars speech... just follows some rumours, never took place, never could've been taking place. thats just dumb, completely historically innacurate and OOC. and the source rumours (game goes too far from them, but still i can see where it was all taken from) i can bet were the parts of Augustian propaganda. it just fits too much.
3. legionaires? around the building where senate had a meeting? completely. 100%. historically. inacurate. yes, i can remember couple of times when peoples assembly was surrounded by armed forces, but it was never an army at that period of time. and they werent there when Caesar was killed (he had even dismissed his own personal guards not long before), otherwise, you know, he couldn't have been killed at all.
so yeah, i have no problems with assassination of Caesar taking place in game, i have problems with lots of historical inacuracies, not only with the ides of march, but, you know, with the portrail of Caesar, which reminds of the actual historical person quite rarely, with Brutus and Cassius teleporting to Egypt with some magic and everything else that make me feel like wtf.
ubisoft has just messed everything up from the moment the game reached romans arrival. thats it.
@@slipslip5720 you haven't played the game you moron
Is it bad that i had a deeper connection with the two Roman soldiers at 12:36 than i did with Aya
You just hate use because you're a misogynist and she's a woman lol
That scene that Ptolemy presented pompey’s head to caeser is not actually correct. In the history books caeser was horrified for what Ptolemy had done to once his friend and relative, even though he was his enemy and rival, and so due to course of that action he decides not to aid Ptolemy in the civil war against cleopatra, so ptolemy puts caeser under house arrest so that he may change his mind about his decision of helping him, but one night caeser escape thanks to cleopatra, and the rest is history....
Ptolemy didn’t put him under house arrest nor did Kleopatra help him escape Alexandria, or else there wouldn’t be an Alexandrian war.
I was amazed to see Caesar in this game. So much content. Such a great story. Only seeing Caesar made me want to migrate across the ocean to the empire to join one of the legions so i can work my way up to become a Praetorian...or by climbing the ranks in the Colosseum....only no ship in Alexandria would take me there....rats...this game needs a dlc set in the Roman Empire...exactly in this time period...when the Empire was still great....after they murdered Julius Caesar none of the new puppets could make the Empire great again.
Long live the Caesar!
The Pharaoh sounds like Joffrey. Will he be poisoned as well?
this game has swords that are on fire and soldiers that rise from the dead and y’all are worried about it being historically accurate...
forgot how much of a badass Caesar was
I'm kind of mad that out of all of Catullus' poems to chose from, they went with this and not the one where he calls Caesar a "Romulus if he were a bottom".
the caesar i know would not let him self get chased down by some dude on an elephant and trust some egyptian dude on anything
But here he did
So where was the scene from the trailer where Bayek and Caesar are standing side by side watching the Harbour burn? I don’t remember that part during my play through, figured it would of been during the siege mission, I wonder if it was cut.
God this portrayal of Cleopatra and Caesar is sooo garbage. I wish I hadn't tainted my memory by watching this.
Kinda dumb that they killed him at the end since he was the good guy during Rome's civil war.
This is a game with Caesar and ubisoft is supposed to have historians yet they can't pronounce his name right.
I swear I will never play this game just because I cannot bring myself to kill THE GREATEST MAN WHO EVER LIVED
9:37. So High Elder Caesar confirmed.....lol.....Brotherhood of Steel joke.
Edward Sallow with BoS as an ally
We need an Assassin's Creed Game set in Alexander's time
here is thought. what if Cleopatra becomes head of order of acients? and using Mark Anthony as puppet in Rome.
mun choi that's what she did to caesar in the first place but was made into the father of understanding.
Is this before or after Commodus?
This is why i love Gaming more than reading and gaining the knowlegdge u get to experience the History in Gaming Universe😍
This is not accurate... at all.
@@Gameinger16 i'd argue the real one isn't either
Wish they would've done the same as Bonaparte. Both are rulers and dictators but have a heart for the good of their citizenry.
Before this game came out I thought the tumultuous time of Caesars dictatorship would be a great plot point for the assassin order to have a civil war with one side becoming the templars. That would have been amazing to me
The historical liberties don’t bother me; these games weave a fictional story around points in history, but the point was never to focus on the history as it actually occurred. Thus, i’m just stoked we saw Caesar’s role in the evolution of the Order of the Ancients into what we would later know as the Templar Order. Also, I love that they actually portray Cleopatra as intelligent and cunning.
She was intelligent and cunning. These games always insisted in being historically accurate, so the fact that this one isn't, it's really frustrating.
Bruno Al she was more cunning than any other portrayal at least. Definitely projected charisma and authority. Always felt in control. They could have made her more of a plotter though, I agree.
its one thing to get some facts wrong but making caesars assasins the good guys who care about the people is stupid as hell. they hated caesar mostly because he gave land and food to the poor also he brought legislation and votes directly to the people. these same senators had beaten plebs to death for daring to ask for food but nah caesar is so bad because they were so jealous of his sway over the people
@@laisphinto6372 I agree with all of that... when it comes to HISTORY. Assassin's Creed canon is different. I liked how they included THIS FICTIONALIZED version into the narrative.
