I just finished a trial run at Kinko’s using acetate and card stock following your instructions and it turned out great both ways. So now I’ll order the blank invitations with custom templates and take it from there. So excited!!!
Did you have to take your own heat resistant paper or did Kinko’s have it?
Excellent tutorial! I needed this.
What if I only want to foil certain words on the invitation how do I do this.
I have tried cutting out foil just for the main words in the heading but leaves alot of splattered foil around and outlines
Please help im in the middle of making my wedding invitations and have been going by your video :(
Thank you
Do you do work for other people? I love this idea but I don’t have the patience for this
No, we only sell the products used to make these projects. If you look in the description, we list the artist name. Contact the artist directly and ask if they would do freelance work. Thanks for the question.
Great invitation :)
Can you transfer that onto card stock instead?
Whats the clear piece? Is that a vellum paper?
The clear paper is Acetate. Or you can also use Duralar Film (I like the 0.005 clear). Just be sure it's heat resistant, so it doesnt melt in your printer!
can you foil on card stock instead of the clear paper?
T. Marie King, yes you can foil on cardstock, using the same products as the video.
What can I use if I don't have a laminater?
Nikki Marie use clothes iron
Iron
Can I print on this type by printing a laser
As long as the acetate is heat resistant it will hold up to the heat a laser printer puts out. Just be sure to adjust your laser printer settings for the acetate as well. I like to set mine to "thinner paper" so not as much heat is put out and there is less risk of damaging the acetate.
If you aren't foiling can inkjet be used on acetate?
I don't think it would work, considering the ink needs to be able to dry and acetate is a non porous surface. You could give it a shot and try heat setting the ink or letting it dry for a few days and see if it smears.
