Im so glad you got to find a Guatemalan Gem in LA not many people know about it. I love going there for the pollo frito & papas. Btw, the first food item you had we call them “chuchitos” it is a type of Guatemalan tamal but they’re not the authentic ones. If you go in the night time they have people selling atole (hot maize beverage). Try the atole de elote soo good! 🇬🇹🇬🇹👍🏼
So my Nigerian friend took me to a Guatemalan restaurant. Once we're there he asked me "what's good?" I was like idk, I've never had Guatemalan food 🤷♀️. I'm salvadorean, we had the waitress explained the menu. Haven't been back since, but I'm ready to try it again 😋😋
You really would have to try guatemala's chicken tacos and ask for a dessert call rellenito. It's plantain filled in with beans is so amazing. I am so craving Guatemala street foods. Here in Calgary Canada there isn't anything like those places where you can go in the street n grab food like that..😥🇨🇦🇬🇹💌

Wow I'm amazed.. In the Austin Texas area the health department would not let get away with half the things they do on. the street markets in L.A.! The food does look delicious though I'm kinda jealous! Wish we had stuff like that...here we have to go to restraurants or food trucks

That's my neighbor hood :) Was there since 1982 but just the last 3 yrs in Korea Town which I love. I visit my friends there often on Union Ave. & 6th St. (that's the T section where you ended your video). You should try some of the Guatemalan restaurants in that area. Not saying is the best but for the price is worth it. I usually don't eat food from stalls on the street in that area but there just In my opinion a couple of them worth eating only because I know that folks cooking it. Great video though.
That’s the plaza mall I lived next to but it would’ve been better if you went at night I used to live in that street when I was young I loved going to that mall because I my mom used to work with a man selling the mattress and I met so many good friends we would play tag around the whole mall I would always spend my time in the store with the sign Latino’s P6 I don’t know if you saw but there was a pale building in the bottom right but straight into the main point at night the food will be made so goooood and keep up the good work I just found you on titkok and decided to watch you’re videos 👍🏽

A real guatemalan tamale is not a chuchito. But it's good you got a glimpse of home cooking food. My people really go out of town and make some good street food. Checkout a guatemalan hot dog 🌭 those are so good
The fried chicken carts are very VERY common, you can buy almost the same thing you ate for 1 dollar, 1.25, I'm really surprised about the prices most of the dishes Will cost here in Guatemala City 3$ or less and includes everyting.

My fried chicken experience in Guatemala was nothing like that. A man with a grill, taking residence in between shops of a market in Antigua. Visible portions of chicken cuts next to it. @@RockstarEater there is just one guatemalan tortilla, quite a few variants of corn to make it, but definitedly many standards i hope every person taste the good ones otherwise you are being prived of guatemalan confort, at least i am positive people have an certain idea about tortillas in Guatemala and Mexico too. Thickness is a good start but don't know if the taste and density is like that i got to know or not.

Everyday after 5 pm. Parking is hard, so you just have to drive around and look for it.
I had that fried chicken in the Guatemala - El Salvador border. Badass let me tell you. Never tried something like it.
