1) I adore this series and Susan. Thank you for bringing more eyes to it! 2) people have probably commented this and I’m so late to this video. But Susan mentioned in the launch for Witchshadow that there will be one more book for a total of five. She was planning on six, but the publisher made her squish it into five. Also she said she is planning on more in this world so we need more people to get invested haha.
I love this series, and Susan even added detailed recaps to her website for the previous books in the series if you really are not a rereader or have time to reread, although I want to anyway. Go check out these books everyone!
I started Truthwitch because you recommended it. I'm now a major fan, and I cannot recommend the series enough to anyone looking for an amazing fantasy! Thank you for starting me on my Witchlands journey.
“I do think this series is better than the Grishaverse” YAASSSSS PERIOD❗️ FINALLY SOMEBODY SAID IT I’m so mad this series is so underrated! It deserves so much more love 😫
I just wanted to comment that I came back to this video specifically after having watched it when it came out, just to feel validated and to not go crazy with all the feelings I have about the series after now rereading it to refresh my memory before which light comes out next year. I just want Susan Denner to get all the hype and satisfaction from finishing the story because she really struggled with her personal life and her sales of Whichshadow. The book industry is a weird place where sales are depending on so many factors. I cannot fathom why the series has not gotten the recognition. It deserves up until now which had its flaws but the development and the heart of the story is amazing and I hope more people recognise that, so thank you for this video. It’s stuck with me over the years, your passion is palpable and I feel very validated by It. 😅🎉❤
You’ve officially convinced me to move this up to the top of my TBR. The way you’re describing the multiple POVs all being fully fleshed out and connecting with each other and the map-hopping and the douche-but-then-you-love-him character of Marek (?) reminds me SO much of ASOIAF! So yep I’m gonna have to read this soon. Thank you!
I just finished Truthwitch tonight. It took some time to get into. However, I did end up giving it four stars, because right around the 50 percent mark, the story just grabbed me. I connected to the world and characters. I wasn't huge fan of how the world building was crafted in the start of the story. However, the writing evened out and by the end, I was loving the book. I'm glad to hear the series continues to get better thus far. You've convinced me to more of the series.
I’m so invested in this series, I love rereading them, and have yet to be disappointed by any plot line, POV, twist, turn, or death. Everything is truly immaculate. I continue to love and appreciate Susan Dennard's way of answering questions I didn't know I had, ones I already had waiting for answers, and giving me new questions to ponder while I wait for her next book.
I got sold on Truthwitch by a B&N bookseller years ago, but it's been sitting on my shelf ever since, never having been touched, and now I think I'm finally ready to pick it up after watching this. P.S. love the nail color! That's a really nice shade of green.
when i was reading bloodwitch back in 2020 i was on a plane and instead of getting excited to see my family i was more excited about what was happening in the book lol
I've owned Truthwitch and Windwitch for awhile now and I read the first few chapters of Truthwitch when trying to decide if it was for me and it totally captured my attention but then just kinda slipped into the background. But now after seeing some hype for Witchshadow and watching your vid I definitely think it's time to pick it back up and dive in!
This video is giving me LIFE. I started this series years ago, because of you. And now is one of my favorites. I believe the next book is the last one, but Susan is planning spin offs with some characters. Please do a Witchshadow Gush review once you've finished it 🙏🏽.
I love that shirt! These sound so good and I’ve never heard of them before. Also my library has them as ebooks and audiobooks so double score. Adding to my TBR now.
Been meaning to read this series forever! I feel like it was super hyped when the first book came out, but then I haven't heard much recently until a bunch of British BookTubers (Jade, Ashleigh, Becca, etc.) started talking about it again, and once again I'm like I need to read this!!! And now this video telling me there are slow burn romances and PIRATES. It needs to happen soon.
I started Truthwitch years ago and wasn’t in the right headspace at the time to read it. I set it down planning to pick up again eventually. Because of you, I have continued to buy the books as they come out because I’m sure I’ll love them once I dive back in.
I've been thinking about reading this series for years but its been on my mind especially in the last few weeks. This video was the sign I needed!! Starting it after work today :)
Excited to continue on in the series! I read Truthwitch this year and meant to continue on, but keep getting distracted by special edition books coming out. 😂 I will get back to it soon.
The way you’ve described this series has me so hyped for it. I was really into ASOIAF for the history and the worldbuilding, and I love some good lore in a fantasy series - the tiny tidbits of lore we got in The Witcher sent me into an obsession with Andrzej Sapkowski’s books. so this sounds right up my alley!
LOVE this series!! I'm subscribed to Susan's newsletter and she has confirmed that there is one more book in the Witchland series and that Iseult's book was originally planned as two but due to decisions behind the scenes was condensed to one and now the next book to come is the conclusion.
I went out and purchased Truthwitch a few years ago when I saw your video recommending it. I have since purchased every book so far in the series when each was released and they have all been living on my shelf since then unread. Having just watched this video and in search of something a bit less dense ( currently reading book 5 of Malazan) I think I'm going to pick up Truthwitch and give it a read. As always great video and ty for the recommendation.🙃
So I started Truthwitch in July. And one of the reasons I got it was because I saw a review from you. Unfortunately I have hit a reading slump this month 😕 so had to press pause on reading it till I get my reading mojo back.
I just ordered the first three books as a box set. I’ve read the first three but never deeply enough. Plus now I have a signed copy of blood witch, so motivation right there
You saying you liked it more than the grisha series convinced me to try it out. The grishaverse is my fav book series but I am willing to try a series that has been given such high praise! Look forwards to reading them!
Yes. Susan has already confirmed that there will be one more book after Witchshadow and it will be the last book in the core Witchlands series. Note of the word "core". She didn't explicitly say that there will be spin-offs but she did imply it. :)
Fabulous video!! I took this series due to your suggestion and it took me two tries to read the first book but I loved the series after that!! Also, on goodreads, there is one more book mentioned in it.
Your nails finally look green here instead of teal! 💚 I read the first two?? books and then forgot the plot before the next book came out. I've been meaning to start over from the beginning. Great video!!
Picked up this series because I've seen some of your videos really enjoying these books. I was so excited. I'm 5 chapters into Truthwitch and I'm struggling! 😭 Not connecting with the writing at all. Trying to push thru because it sounds like the story, characters and magic system are interesting and fun to read. Thanks for your videos! 🙂
You’ve convinced me! I’m going to read Truthwitch and see how it goes. I’ve had it on my Kindle since last August. Tried to read it but put it down and even put it in an unhaul folder. 😱 I’m glad I didn’t delete it. I’m going to start it tomorrow. We’ll see how it goes. 😀 Thanks for the video, Sam!
This video is a good reminder for me to catch up on the series! It's been quite a WHILE tho so I'll probably need to do a reread. I'm glad you said the rereadability is good!
I’ve tried to read Truthwitch twice and didn’t get over like 1/3 either time, but I think you just convinced me to power through and get to the later stuff. 🥰
I started Truthwitch last year and was enjoying it, but I had to stop because I was feeling pretty slumpy and not ready to take on such an expansive fantasy story. Now, as I'm starting to come out of my most recent slump, watching this makes me wanna feel reinvigorated for it and now I wanna full on marathon this series haha
Book depository here I come 🤓🤗💯 gonna order the whole dang series!! Three years of watching Sam and I've been introduced to awesome books. Also on a personal note, you made the transition from being being a fundementalist Christian to a Christian Mystic Witch easier 💙 if you see this, thank you for your beautiful spirit Sam.
I haven't been able to read a book in like 2 months but this is making me want to finally finish Bloodwitch so I can read the new one, which I pre-ordered. Love this series!
I read up to Sightwitch but by the time I read that I didn't remember anything from the first two books so I've just been eagerly waiting for this series to finish so I can binge it all.
I read the first one when it first came out and couldn’t get into it. I’ve recently had luck re-reading books I didn’t enjoy at first so this one is one I’m definitely going to revisit. I’ve kept buying the following books in the series for some reason too so definitely more reason to continue!
I bought Truthwitch because I just love witch media but I was very overwhelmed with the world building as I don’t read a lot of high fantasy. Definitely not giving up on it tho!
Well, based on this I just bought the first book. I trust your judgment. Many people weren't into Uprooted but I bought it because you really loved it and I have reread that book 3 times I liked it so much. Looking forward to seeing if Truthwitch can be equally as good. *Fingers Crossed*

I do like fantasy books but I don't read them that often, unfortunately. I usually prefer YA fantasy books but now I would like to try some adult (epic) fantasy books.
You’re the reason why I started this series in the first place😭😭 thank you!! Also, how do people remember everything that happened coming into the new book? Like I literally forgot what happened in the previous books…
I absolutely adore this series, it's so incredible and criminally underhyped!!! I believe there is one more book in the series but SD has mentioned in a couple of lives that she wants to do a sequel/spinoff series (but won't say what about bc that's apparently spoilers for how this series ends). There was supposed to be 6 books in the series but she had to combine two books into one for Witchshadow bc publishing reasons. Wish there had been 6 books because I don't want this series to end yet 😭
Finally someone talked about this series ahhhh ! And that person is you yaaaay. Where have you been? Girl i agree with everything you said And honestly grisha trilogy has to bow before the witchland 😉
Too bad I can’t like this video more than once! Ahh I was gushing so much from start to finish ☺️ so glad you’re giving light to this series since it’s CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED. Can’t understand for the life of me why they aren’t hyped as much 😳
I read Truthwitch and Windwitch ages ago and I need to reread it so I can continue the series!!! Just... how can I find the time to complete obsess about it how it deserve????

The Witchlands books are literally THE MOST underrated series I know of and they are sooo good
Sooo goood. It hurts me how underrated it is.
Agreed 😭

i'm so mad at how underrated this series is!! praying it gets more of the recognition it deserves!!
You introduced me to the Grishaverse, which has since become my favorite series

Okay, you won me over. I usually don’t vibe well with YA, but I’m gonna try listening to the audiobook now.

I already have wanted to read this series a LOT for a LONG TIME and you have increased my desire by at LEAST 75% so thank you for that!!!!!
btw side note I LOVE your shirt in this video and you look SUPER cute!!!!!
when i was reading bloodwitch back in 2020 i was on a plane and instead of getting excited to see my family i was more excited about what was happening in the book lol
You convinced me. Great idea for a video too, not exactly a review (which I also like of course), but love to hear you gush about books you love.

My friend unhauled the first 2 books so I got them and I'm hoping to love it!

I am on sightwitch now and I am so excited ❤️🥰
I brought the first two at rummage sale last year, so I can start reading it, because I love the Grishaverse series

I am about 30 pages in & I already really like it! I have high hopes.
I have like 3 books of the series minus the novella but not read them yet and I have to say you did a great job of selling it to me, thanks!!
I love this series! Thanks for giving it some love. It is so good. I wish it was spoken about more.
never heard of this series but now i want to read it super bad aaaaaaaaaaa

I really need to read this series.
This shit sounds awesome, I'm sold!!! Great job!
I read Truthwitch awhile ago and this video convinced me to continue! Currently half way through Windwitch and have no regrets. 🤓

ABSOLUTELY WILL READ THEM NOW
I haven't been able to read a book in like 2 months but this is making me want to finally finish Bloodwitch so I can read the new one, which I pre-ordered. Love this series!
I agree so strongly. I love these books and am so bitter that they aren't getting the attention the deserve.
Just started Witchshadow earlier this week and I'm so eager to continue! While still nervous about what is going to happen.
They’ve been on my list for a while because of your videos, but I’m just waiting for the first one to go on sale so I buy it hahah
I read up to Sightwitch but by the time I read that I didn't remember anything from the first two books so I've just been eagerly waiting for this series to finish so I can binge it all.
Already on my TBR from your prior recommendation! Hello pretty kitty!
I read the first one when it first came out and couldn’t get into it. I’ve recently had luck re-reading books I didn’t enjoy at first so this one is one I’m definitely going to revisit. I’ve kept buying the following books in the series for some reason too so definitely more reason to continue!
I read Truthwitch back in the day and didn't vibe, but you've convinced me to give it another go!! 😍😍
I bought Truthwitch because I just love witch media but I was very overwhelmed with the world building as I don’t read a lot of high fantasy. Definitely not giving up on it tho!
Love your reviews and enthusiasm Sam 🥰
okay, I'm sold. it's 3am where I am and I'm tempted to start Truthwitch 🙃
I started reading these books because of your recommendations and they became my life 🥺❤️
I really love this series. It is SO underrated! Iseult and Aeduan.. OMG! 💓💓
Well, based on this I just bought the first book. I trust your judgment. Many people weren't into Uprooted but I bought it because you really loved it and I have reread that book 3 times I liked it so much. Looking forward to seeing if Truthwitch can be equally as good. *Fingers Crossed*
Added this on my tbr because of you 😁
I’m even more excited to read it now!
Easily my favorite books since the six of crows duology. I'm trying not hoover witchshadow down but it's soooo hard 😫😫😫
All I can say is that I totally agree with you 100 percent with these books 📚 please stay safe and enjoy your reading love your Australia fan John xxx
I bought the first book bc of your review and enjoyed the books very much ever since! I'm in the middle of Bloodwitch re-read and I cannot wait to start Witchshadow.
end of the video edit: I never finished the original Grisha trilogy since I got bored with it and the characters, so I'd definitely say Witchlands is way higher than it in my personal hierarchy, but I will also say that it's on par with the Crows duology.
Ok, you've more than convinced me.
If I ever read a series because of this channel, it will be this one. :D I am just waiting to know how many books there will be, so I can binge it one day. :D

But I keep putting of picking it up. I so confused...
You've definitely convinced me, I'll put them on my TBR 🥰
