I was going to say, Kentucky Rain. One of my fav with Wonder of you and “Love me” You should watch “Love me” from this same stage. 1968 special. He’s so sexy.
I had never believed it when my professor in college, both a musicologist and professional symphony musician, himself, told me that he viewed Elvis Presley to be the greatest overall singer of all time. "Why?," "What the hell?," so many of us said? With him first going on to ask what's Frank Sinatra's greatest and/or signature song? "My Way," someone eventually said and then the professor proceeded to show us various polls from over the years which listed Sinatra as the greatest singer ever. Ray Charles and Aretha Franklin were also on top of some, and Elvis, too, on a few. But the point of the exercise was to simply show us Sinatra was considered by many, though it's subjective, to be the greatest. The class then listened to Sinatra's "My Way," and then Elvis' version, back to back. With the room being roughly split as to whose version was better, "which proved what I thought?" But then the professor showed us Elvis rocking out to 'Trying to Get to You' from the Elvis 1968 Comeback Special. With the point ultimately being that regardless of whose version of 'My Way" you preferred, Elvis was right there, totally at home playing in Sinatra's backyard for lack of better parlance. But as to Sinatra playing in Elvis' backyard, he said, it couldn't be done, as he said "[i]magine Sinatra, (who he totally loved) trying to do that rock number?" Then going on to say that he had found no singer who had ever sang more genres, more majestically, than Elvis, & he challenged us to find out for ourselves by looking at his full catalogue of Rock, Pop, Soul, Country, Ballads, Gospel and more. And, when done, I admit I became a convert who was so, so doubtful, at first, I can't even begin to tell you. But from rocking out to 'Trying to Get to You' from that Elvis 1968 Comeback Special, to singing about the dream of humanity coming together with "If I Can Dream," from the same show, I believe you will see what I mean. Elvis even had a voice that could be operatic if you go and listen to 'Hurt' and his version of "You'll Never Walk Alone" will tell you why he has also sold more gospel records than anyone, as well as just tons more, overall. But, with pop and 'Such A Night' to a ballad such as 'They Remind Me Too Much of You,' he did it all, and so, so damn well. While for soul, check out 'Long Black Limousine' or 'You're Wearin' That Loved on Look' which is a bit of another number. Because as Elvis' one album cover says, there's 'Something for Everybody.' Also, and if ultimately you don't think Elvis is the best, that's totally cool as there really is something for everyone!;-) Great channel and I wish you the best!!! ~ Christopher Tyler P.S. Those recommendations are only, quite literally, the beginning!
I was very fortunate to see Elvis live in a small venue by the University of Houston late in his career. My wife and I and our mothers thrilled to his performance. He was overweight then but his voice was still sent from God. I believe he could have gone on for decades making music without missing a beat. I'M 79 now and my wife and our mothers have passed on but I will always remember that night as long as I live.
No they have the suit in Gracelands museum as I saw it in February this year and it was the actual one from this concert and if you ever go it is mesmerising and really touches you in the soul I have been a fan for 43 years and going to see his house in Memphis was bsolutely brilliant but the one where he was born in tupelo was really depressing as. Shows what he and s family went through.
My fave Elvis song is If I Can Dream I also sing Elvis songs when I go out to my local karaoke like Suspicious Minds American Trilogy as well as If I Can Dream
Elvis has so MANY!! If I could dream, from the 68 comeback special. An American trilogy or steamroller blues from his Aloha from Hawaii concert. Those should be a good start.
Thanks so much for your reaction to Elvis (Jan. 8, 1935-Aug. 16, 1977). Elvis was born on January 8, 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi, in a 2 room shack of a house his dad built with money he borrowed from his boss. That's how dirt poor they were. He was one half of identical twins; the other boy - Jesse Garon - was stillborn. They were so poor, that Jesse Garon was buried in a shoebox in an unmarked grave. At Graceland they have a plaque with his name on it in his memory. Elvis always got along with the black community and learned a lot about music from his friends of color. Also, according to the one drop rule, Elvis would not be considered white, since he has Cherokee ancestors on both the Smith (his mother) and the Presley (his father) sides of the family. His paternal grandfather, Jesse Dunning Presley, was not happy that his two sons, Elvis' father Vernon and his brother Vester, married two sisters, Gladys and Clettes who were known to have Cherokee blood in their family tree. J.D. Presley was quite the racist a-hole, often drunk and a philandering husband to Minnie Mae (they were actually separated long before they finally divorced in 1954) who was always competing with his sons Vester and Vernon and who was known to abuse his kids when drunk. J.D. was was publicly against race mixing and was in denial about the Cherokee blood in his own family tree. It was more publicly known that the Smith family had Native blood in their family tree, so when both his sons fell for 2 Smith sisters and Vernon, on top of that, was still a minor at 17 when he eloped with Gladys who was 4 years older than him, Jesse was totally pissed off. As a child, Elvis already had many friends in the black community at the time his family was one of 4 "white" families that lived in the predominantly black neighborhood The Hill, just across from Shake Rag. His childhood friend Sam Bell said that some of the (black) kids in that neighborhood had lighter skin than Elvis (ua-cam.com/video/LrFCyNMvZWk/v-deo.html). One of Elvis' bodyguards once said that he thought it was a miracle Elvis got into Humes High School in Memphis, because it was "lily white". Elvis wanted to be more open about his Native ancestry, but his manager "colonel" Tom Parker (real name Andreas van Kuijk) was against it because he was afraid it might cost Elvis fans (and himself money). They did have Elvis play characters in his movies though where he had Native American blood (Flaming Star, G.I. Blues, Stay Away Joe). Once Elvis had his own (apprentice) job learning to be an electrician, he saved up his money and bought his clothes in the same style that many of his friends of color wore. He was called a (forgive me, just stating facts here) "n-lover" and got beaten up several times too. Later, when he was an established star, he would not perform at places where the members of color of his back-up band/orchestra weren't allowed.
My mother is also the reason I fell in love with Elvis, RIP to them both, and since Elvis recorded over 600+ songs I doubt I could guess correctly but I'll go with Never Been To Spain. My personal favorite is Love Me followed by Trouble, Jailhouse Rock, and after that it depends on whatever is going around and around in my head. Someone just asked me what kind of music I liked and I just said, "Elvis." Music begins and ends with Elvis and in more ways than most would ever realize!
Yeah, pretty much as you stated: music begins and ends with Elvis! Phenomenal voice and range. I listened to his music in the late 60's and 70's, then experienced other singers, and for ten years now, back listening to Elvis! ⚡
I could never decide on a favorite song until a year ago! If I Can Dream is my favorite song! That song sums up what Elvis was and is still about and that's bringing people together!!
My grandparents were teenagers when he first started. They had the best in music. No one has gone the Elvis Presley route in a long time, I say stick to what works.
My favorite of his was 'If I can dream.' It shows his awe inspiring power. I only found out when I bought the movie that it was written the night before out of rebellion.
Thanks for a great reaction just seeing him is gift within itself, but love the Vegas 1970 stuff, like "Patch it up", "The Wonder of You", "You've lost that loving feeling" and of course "Polk Salad Annie", you are very cute. thanks be Blessed.
If I can Dream (68' Comeback Special) is my favorite. ALL the feels if you have not heard it please go watch it it was a tribute to his friend MLK right after his assassination so its sad but so beautiful and full of hope.
I remember the very day that Elvis past in 77. I was by myself at home. It was Sommer Vacation, and I was watching television ,(gilligans island) the show was interrupted for a emergency broadcast. That evening i listened to his records and sang along all night. Saw him preform at Wing Stadium, Mi. Visited Graceland. Before the indoor tours. No one else was playing with them. I was Star stricken and chickend out of my chance to roll the dice with such a unique Trio! However, I got one of those 15mins and shot Craps with Twiggy Ramirez. !
Easy, you gave me a mountain in Hawaii, If I can dream in the white suit on NBC, I want to be free...been a fan for over 45 years! Oh, and Stuck on you...he is the King. I'm gonna run my fingers thru your long black hair ,squeeze you tighter than a grizzly bear, those are lyrics you want to come up with for your loved one!
I saw the 68 come back special when I was 8 years old and Aloha from Hawaii when I was 13. Too hard to pick a favorite song but if you like a really blow to the heart love song then listen to "It Hurts Me". I think we all have been there. It's so good. thank you for posting. I'm a new fan to your channel now.
OMG this man had it all.. so dang sexy in that black leather suit... the voice .. incredible.. his ability to just command an audience.. Wish I had the chance to see him...just glad my Mom did
Love the 68 Comeback Special and this song is so gritty. Love it. Brought up on Elvis through my dad. That voice, that face, and him in black leathers what more can you ask for, well apart from him in uniform in G.I. Blues that is 😂
Elvis is without a doubt the best singer of all time. His imitators only make fools of themselves by trying to imitate him. Nobody sings his songs with the taste and strength that only Elvis had. For me Unchained melody sung by him is simply unmatched.
I just can't help believing, another is My Way aloha from Hawaii. That's two of my favourites, however there are so many and so hard to choose. He was a one off. Never again will we see the like.
Elvis was actually very nervous about this performance as it was his first time in front of a live audience for 10 years because of being away for 2 years in the Army in Germany and then another 8 years only making movies. Listen to You’ll never walk alone ….. a big difference to the Liverpool FC Anthem. Also Bridge over troubled waters, Love me tender, Can’t help falling in love with you, Trouble, he recorded over700 songs, more then Michael Jackson and the Beatles added together!! Love seeing you bring Elvis to yet another generation of young fans. 👌💕🕺
I think Devil in Disguise, while mine is Burning Love live Aloha from Hawaii, every song from that concert is Elvis as good as he gets. I did see Elvis in concert when i was in high school in Chicago, May 2nd 1977, magical. And it is so nice seeing the younger generation like you to Respect the man and his music thank you
there,s a few Elvis songs i love .1 is blue Spanish eyes which is on his good times album 2 is heart of Rome 3 is America the beautiful 4 is i,m leavin 5 is don,t cry Daddy 6 is seprate ways 7 crying in the chapel 8 way down 9 is pledging my love 10 sound of your cry
The song was first recorded by Elvis Presley in 1955 on his then unissued Sun label recordings. The track was released on Presley’s March 1956 RCA debut album Elvis Presley. this was a jam session with his old band from the 1950's for his TV Special in 1968. It was only one segment of the TV show which was about 2 hours long. Elvis had spent almost decade making movies after he got out of the army and had not performed live in a long time. The TV show led to him returning to the stage in Las Vegas and on short tours, and having some hit records n the top 10.
One of my favourite Elivs songs is "Baby What You Want Me To Do" from the 68 Comeback Special. The rhythm is unique and he's pushing and moaning in the song. Pure rock 'n' roll! Elvis was in great shape, longer sideburns, black leather suit - just perfect!
I love all of ELVIS.... I SAY YOUR FAVORITE IS POLK SALAD???? BUT SO MUCH MORE.. JUST PRETEND / BLUE EYES CRING IN THE RAIN / PUT YOU HIGHHEEL SNEAKERS ON...❤
One performance you should react to is Elvis's 1970 las vagas concert of his song Love me tender. I have never saw a performer ever do such a thing as he did in this performance. ✌️♥️
You have a permanent tattoo of the man yet you have not seen the 68 comeback special in it's entirety. Girl, you have some watching to do. Get to it, learn about it, and have fun. 😊
Too be sure you have seen the 68 comeback special when he performed live after not performing for 8 years. He was doing movies. There will never be another. Loved him since 1956 on the Sullivan show. No entertainer ever was more beautiful than this man. Have you reacted to "If I Can Dream", "Just Pretend" Vegas 1970. Also in Vegas "Polk Salad Annie". You know that he recorded over 700 songs. Great reaction, thanks.
Was great to see your reaction to this song by Elvis I love the 68 comback special. Here is a bit of trivia that you may not know.. The guy with the tambourine is Col. Decker from the A Team
My favourite song is ‘return to sender’ I love Kentucky rain and the wonder of you, my mums favourite song is ‘American trilogy’ ❤
Your mom is ok!!!! lol Great song
xD ty@@kevinburns478
Have you seen the video of Return to Sender from his 1962 movie Girls! Girls! Girls! ? It’s an amazing video, I love it.

Hail to the King!
Here ins the King at his most.

He looked delicious in that black leather, but never performed in it again. He said it was way too hot and I believe they had to cut it off of him.😂
Yes its truth..
@KoneMan the white leather suit I believe was a karate type jumpsuit the black leather was in the 68 come back special ha si just googled it.
He sang it on his last concert tour Elvis in concert double album 1977 ⚡️⚡️
No cause he shown in it at the end of That's The Way It Is. Talking to people.
My fave Elvis song is If I Can Dream I also sing Elvis songs when I go out to my local karaoke like Suspicious Minds American Trilogy as well as If I Can Dream
Awwwwww
The Goat forever! More Elvis please
This man blew the music world apart in the 1950s and onwards I was lucky enough to be around when he was still alive ..fantastic
Elvis has so MANY!! If I could dream, from the 68 comeback special. An American trilogy or steamroller blues from his Aloha from Hawaii concert. Those should be a good start.

Hello from Sweden 🇸🇪
I remember the very day that Elvis past in 77. I was by myself at home. It was Sommer Vacation, and I was watching television ,(gilligans island) the show was interrupted for a emergency broadcast.
That evening i listened to his records and sang along all night.
Saw him preform at Wing Stadium, Mi.
Visited Graceland. Before the indoor tours.
Then yrs later, A crazy moment I experienced was in Vegas at the Luxor. While playing craps, I looked up, shook my head making sure I wasn't drunk and saw Lisa Marie & Marilyn Manson & Charles Fleischer(voice of Rodger Rabbit) playing a few tables away. No one else was playing with them. I was Star stricken and chickend out of my chance to roll the dice with such a unique Trio!
However, I got one of those 15mins and shot Craps with Twiggy Ramirez. !
Oh bless ya. My mum loved him! Might start watching his movies next hah

I love Walk a mile in my shoes

Elvis..the voice that rolled the universe.
One of his original Sun recordings. Recorded in 1955. This is a Presley classic. He sang it many times from ‘74 to ‘77.
The song was first recorded by Elvis Presley in 1955 on his then unissued Sun label recordings. The TV show led to him returning to the stage in Las Vegas and on short tours, and having some hit records n the top 10.
He was soooo great and still❤
Great reaction! The true King, subbed
My favorite song is anything he sings!! I love his voice. ❤
اعظم فنان على مر العصور لم ولن يتكرر الملك بدون منازع
one of my favourites from Elvis
One of my favourite Elivs songs is "Baby What You Want Me To Do" from the 68 Comeback Special.
The rhythm is unique and he's pushing and moaning in the song. Pure rock 'n' roll! Elvis was in great shape, longer sideburns, black leather suit - just perfect!
I love all of ELVIS.... I SAY YOUR FAVORITE IS POLK SALAD???? BUT SO MUCH MORE.. JUST PRETEND / BLUE EYES CRING IN THE RAIN / PUT YOU HIGHHEEL SNEAKERS ON...❤
He should rock you're little mind away
xD TRUE
One performance you should react to is Elvis's 1970 las vagas concert of his song Love me tender. I have never saw a performer ever do such a thing as he did in this performance. ✌️♥️
You have a permanent tattoo of the man yet you have not seen the 68 comeback special in it's entirety. Girl, you have some watching to do. Get to it, learn about it, and have fun. 😊
This was his comeback. He was extremely nervous backstage and wasn’t going to go on. I’m so glad he did!!!
Your favorite song 🎵 is Burning love. I have to many to mention ❤️
My favorite: "Anything that's part of you"
Elvis Rocks! TCB⚡️
Favorite Elvis song would have to be something from the original Sun sessions. Maybe this one or That's Alright Mama, but most days Mystery Train.
Top song 😇
Full leathers under studio lights!!!!!
SO warm
The King !!!! Always.
