I am the captain,I am the captain, of an English shipand in every port I have a womanThe blonde one is phenomenaland the brunette is not bad eitherIf I ever marryI will wed The one I fancy most
@@michaelwalter3399 What ? Everyone knows the old England evil past and it massacres ,it's fine to be proud of being born there but its low to say god bless on such a bloody old past of it
Music is nice, better than the shanty versions which are so common and don't do the song justice. But that voice is just absurd, it sounds like a self parody. And me not producing an alternative doesn't make this version good.
To: H-to-O - I am in agreement with yourself. I find it to be the more authentic (and I say this as an Englishman)since Mr. McGurk's Irish accent and tone evoke the sense in myself that these sailors are expressing their passion in life. There was a sizeable contribution of volunteers from 'All Ireland', many of whom were from coastal areas and career sailors, that enlisted in the Royal Navy at that time. Photonman666 obviously views this as a self-parody whereas I tend to the impression that the song admirably conveys that raison d'etre, that such men felt.
This rough unclean version is so much more true and touching as many professional recordings... Well done, guys!
This really captures the true spirit of the song.

That sounds a bit like La Bamba:
Yo no soy marinero, soy capitan, soy capitan
I think that's pretty much true of sailors of any nationality. A lot of women really go for a man in uniform.
Great and beautiful
Best version of this song
I can't stop to replay this song. For me this one is the best rendition of it.
Great song, great singer and great musicians
LW5guy It's from Master & Commander: The Far Side of the World. Excellent film

God bless Old England, she needs all men on deck in these struggling decades. England is occupied
God bless old England ? Bruv it has a nasty past of colonialism and Christianity sword spreading . it killed many innocents.
God bless indeed!
@@bedro4real826 And your saying White Christian people should have a problem with that? Sounds jolly good sport to me.

Fair enough, Maybe you could post up something you've produced?
Only the Irish can sing this, with gusto, mi gustria mucho viva los Irelandesas ( my Spanish is a little rusty) still you get the picture.
This is literally an English song lmao, so the Irish can only sing English songs? That’s not much of a compliment
.. as is the song ..

The verse they sing in Master and Commander the far side of the world, shall always be the best then the Jerry Bryant version.
Excellent music and mood, I can listen to this stuff for hours.
