2:30 It's some kind of energy manipulation similar to Dynamax itself, i.e. it's explained in the game that pokemon don't actually increase in size or mass when they Dynamax, but the field of energy surrounding them enables them to interact with their surroundings as if they had increased in size. Once the dynamax poke ball returns to looking normal size it returns to normal attributes in every other way. 4:50 People in pokemon tend to be tougher than in real life, especially if they are powerful trainers. Hala is noted to have fought a Bewear to a standstill after an entire day of fighting it.
Yeah, it's just logic that humans in Pokemon are significantly tougher than normal. Humans in pokemon evolved to live in the same world as a bunch of monsters capable of catastrophe. Not to mention humans with psychic powers or aura control.
Lysander’s motivations in X wasn’t to destroy the world which is why he was using Xerneas. Xerneas shares everlasting life. Lysander was trying to preserve the beauty of the of the world. As he said in The Visionary “everything that is beautiful should stay that way forever” and “Kalos is beautiful right now. I can’t stand the thought of the world becoming uglier.” His motivations in Y was to destroy that which isn’t beautiful. I believe that “The Visionary” was presenting the Lysander from X judging from the conversation. I thought The Visionary was better than ok. But then again I am biased towards x/y considering they are the games that brought me back to Pokémon.
Lysandre is an antagonist who's premise is alright, but he's so poorly written, particularly in the games. The idea that he's a man that loves the world but ultimately comes to the realization that the only way it can be preserved is by reducing the amount of people on it isn't the most original idea, but it's one that works. Him making tools to help the world but either having his efforts be a losing battle, and/or people just exploiting his kindness without anything being fixed is a good motivation for his character. However, the game just, doesn't show that very well, and his dialogue doesn't help. I get that they're trying to tie it in to Team Flare wanting to look flashy, but it makes him hard to take seriously at times. Some people say that Lysandre and Cyrus are too similar, and I can see the comparisons, but while Cyrus ultimately feels nothing and sees people as a means to an end, Lysandre seems like he's actually somewhat remorseful for what he feels he must do. This would actually be an interesting thing for them to bring up if Cyrus and Lysandre ever met, but Team Rainbow Rocket missed that opportunity, and outside of maybe Pokémon Masters I doubt they'll ever do that. I'm not the first one to make this observation, but one way that Pokémon stories seem to falter is the disconnect between what they say about their world versus what the player sees. We don't see the deterioration of the world in XY, and we don't see the energy crisis in Sword/Shield, for example. Yes, in our real world these things exist, but Pokémon doesn't want to actually show that in their world. We might get some areas or backstories that mention this stuff, but in general we don't tend to see it unfold in front of us. It's part of why a character like Lysandre doesn't work, because you have a man who talks about the world dying, and yet everything just seems all hunky dory wherever you go. Maybe he would've gotten more fleshed out in a Pokémon Z, but we all know that isn't happening. And judging by Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl even a remake wouldn't necessarily fix his character justice. When you take his character in its entirety (games, manga, and anime) he's better, but when you look at the source material (i.e. XY) he's just so poor of an antagonist.
@@flarestorm9417 I'd love to see a remake of X/Y like 20 years from now or something where Lysandre is written better. Kalos ws my first gen and I have a lot of love for it, so seeing my first Pokemon villain get good writing would be amazing aaa
