A slight deviation from my composition resolution this week. Since it is Tchaikovsky's birthday a week from tomorrow (7th May), I've decided to post this instead.
This piano arrangement of the theme from Swan Lake was written by Karen Kornienko, a pianist whose arrangements and recordings I have long admired. He captures the magic of Tchaikovsky's music with innovative piano writing that is a joy to play.

Some time last year I wanted to find an arrangement of Swan Lake, but I found only easy and primitive versions for piano, but this arrangement reveals the potential of musical harmony, and I also think that this arrangement best conveys the character of Tchaikovsky's piece.
Today UA-cam recommended this video, so it's time to realise a dream)
I should also try to master the polyrhythms in these notes.

this is my favorite piece of classical music, i loved it since i was little especially for its romantic sound but i think that it sounds a little bit more epic and powerful on the piano, it kind of reminds me a Beethoven's piano sonata, not a Tchaikovsky's work that much...it's quite different but interesting!
That's an interesting comparison, and I agree with you! I think Beethoven's piano works often feel orchestral (i.e. you could easily imagine how they might be orchestrated), and this is conversely an orchestral piece arranged for piano.

I fell in love with Chaikovsky when I was 12 years old ( even less 10 or 9 years old) ..every Saturday morning the first Italian channel TV rai uno diffuse The swan lake..it was like a date for me.. I heard the symphony watched the prima ballerina with big admiration... It was the "déclic" of my childhood 🌺 thank you sir.. So precious 🌸

I don't really know much about classical music but this arrangement made me feel like I'm transported in another reality. When I close my eyes, I can imagine a beautiful swan gracefully taking flight. It soars in to the sky and I can see the coulds painted in different vibrant colors as twilight nears and feel the rush, the air against my cheek and it's ethereal and breathtaking and refreshing.
