I don't think Tenpai will destroy the format, But it feels like a deck that you need to have a plan for or its going to punch you in the kidneys and Mug you for your wins in a 4 minutes sweep.
Ostinato was always one good fusion or material monster away from being a bit busted. Played it awhile in TOSS format for Schuberta as an engine in a few things but it never clicked exactly how I liked in the same way like a Brilliant Fusion package did. Now that it fetches engine from the deck via Bacha, well... Support can be crazy sometimes.
47:13 I don't disagree with this point, but I do want to express a grievance adjacent to it; just as Farfa outlined that finding out an anime archetype is good is great for the game, the opposite is also true; nothing is more depressing than reading new cards for your favourite anime archetype that turn out to be bad, or at best, don't do anything to address the inherent flaws of the archetype. For me, this archetype is Synchrons. Now, don't get me wrong; Revolution and Assault are both great cards, but they don't do much to push Synchrons into a fresh direction. I get that Synchrons aren't everyone's bag; it's not reasonable to hope that the opponent has no more than 1 handtrap, and no opponent likes sitting through a 10-min combo that ends on the same negate smorgasbord we've all seen dozens of times before. So why not address those issues? Instead of printing these high-cost Synchros that are just not feasible to run in any capacity, they could print some lower-investment Synchros that have varied and more interesting ways of interacting with the opponent. Just as a pitch, retrains of Yusei's Warrior series of Synchros would be perfect for this. All of this may be unrelated to the Yubel stuff (and it is, admittedly), but I can't help but feel a bit cheated when seeing a card like Phantom of Yubel. Like, I have to play 2 bricks to summon Shooting Majestic, but Yubel can make Phantom as just a by-product of going through their regular lines. The disparity in card quality is just really sad.
it's the classic "bad support is worse than no support" dilemma, where because you got support you know you won't get more for a long time so you're stuck at mediocre. That being said, you could also be something like Spellbooks watching Madolche get their like 5th wave of support and wishing you had _anything_
Yeah, there is definitely a series of arbitrary decisions that go into which which anime decks they decide to make viable. If tenpai ever gets popular on master duel, ima try to play turn skip drytron again with the good old thunder of ruler. Add 3 thrust and stuff. So i hopefully can at least set thunder of ruler so they dont get a battle phase

I love Drytron. Amorphactor pain is so unique. I'm here for it. I hope it's meta lol. We can use Beatrice and transaction rollback to get to thunder of ruler without even using the gryphon line. I'm gonna try it. I like the way this guy's thinking lol.
The only way it won’t be popular is if it gets heavily pre-hit. Like the field spell comes in at 1, which is what had Kashtira come in dead on arrival.
Konami just needs to do a direct distribution method of getting cards to players. Vendors are ok for the secondary market but players need to be able to get packs and singles from Konami itself.
@DreamsTCG Not sure I understand what you're asking. Sets are just ways for Konami to produce new product in batches for people to easily navigate the catalogue of card releases.
I play a small Centur-ion engine in RDA. Makes you be able to put up even more stuff. Even a line that uses the nib token that your opponent will eventually drop on you to make a 12 synchro lol
2 card combos in yubel lead to 3 material apollousa, valdrath, and super producer + rage in grave and chamber set. if you get nib same board without apollousa. of course some ht hits you and you won't be able to do that board always and the problem of the deck is and will remain consistency. sometimes you play even if you get 2 ht and make full board sometimes you die form 1 ash/perma
Tenpai is fine, its kind of deck that will fall the moment ppl prepare side for em if it gets more popular. They have bunch of blowout turn skipper / floodgates that can be used againts em. Powerceep kinda arrive at the point where konami makes these cards in engine to ignore interaction ro be strong, like tenpai and gimmick puppet field, and maybe more in the future.
The issue will definitely be in Master Duel. Even in the best of 1 tournament it completely dominated. The deck is absolutely going to ruin Master Duel unless it gets the Kashtira treatment and has their field spell put to 1. Even in the TCG though you’re stuck in a “just draw the out” situation because the field spell requires very specific cards and is the point of contention since a blanket make everything towers is horrible card design. You’d have to weigh how worth it it is to have enough side deck answers available to beat Tenpai, which in turn compromises your side deck against other decks.

Konami really doesn’t like hand looping and with it seeing very consistent play I can’t see it lasting. Dis Pater can stay though since that’s at least a conditional negate and frankly Apollousa is fine without the easy access omni negates to protect it.
