The Blu Ray release of Sukuna v Mahoraga is so much better, which is a crazy thing to say given how good the original TV release was. I think Sukuna vs Mahoraga will go down as one of the best and most ambitious fights of the decade. Seriously, it will take a lot for this fight to get outpaced.

if u see the scene and rewind a few seconds after mahoraga crashes into the building there are small packets of detergent that mahoraga swallows and throws up...insane attention to detail

@@AnkleGremlin just of the many extra details added by the animation staff, sukuna vs mahoraga was an extraordinarily ambitious animation spectacle and most of the PPL involved wanted as much input as possible
@@saarth2678 This might be a reach, but it could also be another unique way of showing Mahoraga's adaptation. As Mahoraga swallows the detergent, adapts to it, the wheel turns, and Sukuna shouts, "Again?!"
Basically, just another way to show how Mahoraga literally adapts to every and all phenomena...even...getting poisoned from swallowing detergent I guess. That's how I see it anyway.

Crediting the animators for as small as a one second input (not to take away how much work goes into one second of animation), and all their hard work is a real sweet move, they deserve it
Its also a very funny visual. Seeing 4 different people in the span of 5 seconds just should never be the case unless it’s fully intended.
Apparently the Mahoraga scene 6:32 was him getting poisoned and then he started to adapt to the poison. Scenes like that are throughout the fight to show little hints and examples of how his ability work before sukuna finally gives us the full breakdown
Yeah and they even included the poison bottle on the floor in the blu-ray version, very easy to miss but glad they added context

Honestly, I'm not sure why but I prefer how choppy the TV version of Sukuna's Fire Arrow scene looks, and how it's not fully colored in but has a sketchy red colored outline instead, I can't describe the reason but I just find it so cool!

Note! when Mahoraga is fighting the air, I also thought he was trying to clash the slashes, but he's actually trying to throw his limbs at Sukuna when he cuts them.

You can also see sukuna pump faking the crap out of him just prior to that. There's the famous one of course but right after you see sukuna in ragas head about when he's gonna slash and when he's just playing. Raga then just resorts to swinging wildly so if he is cut the limb goes flying as a weapon like you said. I really wished they had just let the animators finish this scene so I could just watch it 1000 times on crunchyroll 😭

I remember when the TV version came out and Crunchyroll audiences were glazing the animation like it was peak. Like it was definitely fantastic for the constraints and workload those based and awesome animators at Mappa had to deal with, but peak it was not. The Blu-Ray version is peak though. Let those animators see their families!
considering blu ray is still not 100% complete but they could manage to finish some scenes they really cared and worked hard on, shows how much masterpiece this episode was

I'm Italian and I wonder the same. I wish someone could record and apply the original subtitles and post it somewhere. If Crunchyroll or Netflix had it, I'd pay just to see it but Netflix doesn't care about season 2 (failed platform 😒), Crunchyroll doesn't care about animes and will go bankrupt soon enough, the only answer left is sailing the seas 😢

Imagine if Mappa gave the artist enough time- Like holy fuck. I understand the ghosting and dimming (I still hated it) but the episode wasn’t even fully finished. It’s so annoying. Hopefully the animators get enough time to get better episodes for season 3.

It was generationally badly animated. I still don't get people glazing this fight when Sukuna vs Jogo, Yuji vs Mahito and especially Yuji vs Choso were better animated. All that talent was wasted by bad production and time constraints.

Meh, it was okay. It was a good fight, but I doubt many even noticed half the stuff you talked about, making it out to be almost larger than life when in reality it's more work for hardly a payoff. I couldn't care less about whether it's Blu-ray or broadcast. Js.
This episode had a huge impact on the world of animation, it caused such a wonder (and drama) that it almost completely overshadowed Luffy Gear 5 and other anime situations at the time, because everyone was talking about Sukuna vs. Mahoraga 😤
So, what you're saying is an insult to the world of animation and to those who put blood and sweat into bringing us this episode, despite the controversies and enormous obstacles. We got it because our voices as a community managed to reach the ears of Mappa and those working on it (and it's not a given that they pay attention to the public, let alone their own employees!)
It wasn't just "okay," it was literally *a masterpiece of combat that will go down in history as one of the best-animated fights ever.* And people were already astonished by the incomplete version ("30% of what they originally planned"), with this adjustment the community went wild.
So, if all of this and the story behind this controversial episode mean so little to you, and you boast about shouting it to everyone, then I reserve the right to consider your opinion *objectively invalid.*
