Sigma is insane after being exposed to the blackhole he was later imprisoned but talon found out about him and broke him out and now basically just uses him for his powers while he does not understand that

Also Sigma isn't evil or bad. What he is, is that he is being manipulated by the evil people. He is clinically insane so he doesn't fully understand what hes doing. And in the Overwatch 2 In-game voicelines, you can hear that all the Talon Members (Reaper, Moira, Doomfist, etc). Are just trying to please him. They are the ones that freed him from prison. And are just trying to be on his good side. Completely manipulating him so he does their bad actions. The only person that has compassion to Sigmas situation is Sombra. Sombra is a master manipulator too. She can easily see whats happening with Sigma. So with her interactions with Sigma. Sombra kind of acts like a Big Sister/Motherly Role to Sigma. She doesn't want him to be mistreated. She has his back. But of course staying silent that he (sigma) is being completely used. In Sigmas view, these people rescued him, they are sponsoring his research, and are overall very friendly with him (which is most seen with Moiras and Sigmas interactions where Moiras just being nice because he is so important to their evil organization Talon). When speaking to Overwatch characters, Sigma can't believe that the people that freed him from jail are evil. He won't accept that because of the hospitality that was shown and continue to be shown to him
That is genuinely one of the saddest story I have heard in overwatch so far :( thats awful! I feel so bad for sigma and that makes the other characters so much more evil in my eyes. Im glad that sombra looks out for him, makes sense with her understanding how people work and the manipulation! Thanks for watching :)
Mmhmm. I think Jack even tells Sigma " Old man! Can't you see Talon is using you?" In a voice line together. Sigma just drifts off in his own little world as if he doesn't even hear Jack, because he probably can't

Sigma's story is so cool, but it seems he's gone even farther off the deep end in Overwatch 2. Of all people, Sombra seems to befriended him and makes sure that Talon (the evil organization they work for) isn't taking advantage of him. They have such wholesome voice lines together if you wanna check them out lol
I always find it funny when he asks widow on a date in pre-match interactions and she turns him down and he's polite going "sorry I wouldn't want to intrude!"
So Brigitte (daughter of Torbjörn btw) is not the first child to be an Agent. Pharah is. Pharah aka Fareeha is the daughter of Ana and has been an Agent for quite a few years. She's even been a playable character before Ana even came out.

while a playable character, pharah isn't actually *in* overwatch, she's specifically banned from joining it at the request of ana herself because she didn't want her to risk her life
To answer your thoughts, yes Moira gave Gabriel Reyes his powers. It was through Mercy’s intervention that she accidentally created Reaper. During the attack on the Swiss base that ended Overwatch and presumably killed Morrison (76) Reyes actually died that day and Mercy found him and tried to resurrect him. Her powers were never able to resurrect like in game and it reacted horribly with Moira’s modifications (Nobody aside from Moira, Genji, and Mecree knew Reyes had shadow powers). Thus the mixing of abilities sent Reyes off the deep end as his powers are causing him immense permanent pain. He’s only in it to kill Overwatch members, he is more of a mercenary to Talon, but he’s very well regarded for his skill.
@@wingedbluj1674 Reyes sent away most of the staff that day, but Mercy came after the base was attack to find survivors, she found Reyes dead or second away and used her staff nanite things to try and pull him from death. Said nanites reacted badly with Moira's changes and 'Killed' him there.
Reaper isn't in it JUST to kill Overwatch Members. It is in part that yes, but he is in it to dispense Justice to those who would normally get away with atrocious like Antonio from the Retribution event(Editted: not short). Antonio himself said "I'll be out within the week" and Reyes knew he was right and killed him to "truly" bring him to justice. In Code of Violence, it is told he dealed with multiples who would escape justice because they were rich, and probably wasn't the last Reyes would deal with, and he joined Talon because Doom promised he would be able to bring them to Justice like he did Antonio, but with the support he needs
Fun fact if you kill orisa as remattra he says “I truly had no quarrel with you” in a sad tone it shows that he’s a truly good Omni at heart in fact he also tells bastion that he’d help him collect twigs for his nest that bastion is making for his bird

Wrecking Ball is the name Hammond adopted while fighting in the Scrapyard, basically a mech fighting competition in Junker Town. He ended up becoming the champion (hence all the lines in game where he calls himself the champ, or where Junkrat fanboys when playing with the champ). As the champ, Junker Queen offered him a job as her personal bodyguard, which he accepted. He's still serving as her guard at the current point in the lore.

Gabriel Reyes/Reaper was original commander of the Overwatch, after Omnic war he became leader of the side and secret organization Blackwatch under Overwatch. In Blackwatch was Moira, Cassidy and Genji. :) Then he betrayed Overwatch with Moira and joined the Talon.
They legit give me goosebumps everytime. The story telling is amazing🤩 hope they bring back more of these! It’s crazy watching these again with you and noticing all the Easter eggs and future characters that were hinted way back in the beginning
21:09 Massive lore dump coming up. The man who would later be known as Reaper was originally known as Gabriel Reyes. Due to experiments carried out by Doctor Moira O'Deorain, he's cells simultaneously decay and regenerate at a hyper-accelerated rate. The process has been described as "molecular cleansing," where he is "wiped away piece by piece." One moment he may appear as flesh and blood, the next, as a cloud of black smoke. He and Jack (Soldier 76) were both founding meberes of Overwatch. Years later Ultimately, Overwatch met its end through a combination of accusations that tainted the organization's reputation, and Reyes himself. Officially, Reyes and Morrison were killed in the blast that destroyed Overwatch's Swiss headquarters, an event the UN ruled as an accident. In reality, Overwatch had become split down the middle, with Reyes leading a rebellion against Morrison's leadership. As a battle was waged within the base, their fighting triggered an explosion that destroyed the facility. Reyes survived the blast, albeit barely, and woke up to find Dr. O'Deorain standing over him. As Reyes drifted in and out of consciousness, Moira explained how she’d overloaded his body with a cocktail of experimental chemicals-a juiced-up version of the substance that had first given him the ability to manipulate his form. She claimed he'd been close to death and she'd had no other option. Later a mysterious mercenery calling himself Reaper appeared working for the Talon terrorist organization. Both Ana and Jack know his true identity.
I love how Blizzard made all this up as the game went along, early Reaper had no planned backstory to the point that people had to speculate that Mercy was involved with his transformation.
you should wtch the hour long video on overwatch lore and history ^^ it will explain a lot but not everything. Reaper was the original creator and leader of overwatch, then the UN put Jack into that position because he was seen as more charismatic, a face for the organisation. Reapter became the leader of Blackwatch - a specops branch of overwatch and finally had it with Jack, tried to take over and ended up destroying overwatch in the process

I love Baptiste's story, it's so underrated. There are in-game voice lines of Talon members (Widow, Reaper, etc) tormenting Bap for leaving and wanting to hunt him down lol
When I got a team wipe with Sigma, Bap said "I always liked working with you." Thought that detail was very neat, going back to when Bap worked with Talon.
27:54 BTW Those are Talon's (the groump Widow, Reaper Doom and Moira work for) normal foot soldiers. So he was at one point in a terrorist organization.

Something I literally just noticed about Ramattra's origin story, 43:28 notice how, in the upper left, there is a child seemingly saddened, almost pushing to interfere while their mother holds them back This kid is directly behind Ramattra, probably the only human he's not seeing in the crowd I think it shows that, despite the fact Ramattra is right that there are humans who hate them, he's still incapable of quite literally seeing the bigger picture, that some humans are also against the omnic abuse

I'd love to see you react to a timeline/lore explained video; With how much of it is hidden in obscure voice lines, comics, easter eggs on the maps themselves, and even dev interviews, it can be very hard to wrap your head around everything. I'd personally recommend Hammeh's video if you do react to one, or even just wanna check one out in your own time. If you don't, though, I figure I'll share a few cliff notes and fun facts below the cut: -The Omnic Crisis started when an AI "God Program" known as Anubis took control of deactivated factories called Omniums, designed to be automated, self-improving Omnic production facilities, and started creating Bastion units, as well as corrupting all previously existing Omnics, to wipe out humanity. -The world was on the brink of collapse, but small individual initiaves were having limited success, so the UN brought them together to form what would eventually become Overwatch; The original six members were Jack Morrison (Soldier 76) and Gabriel Reyes (Eventually Reaper) from the US' Captain America-style supersoldier program, Reinhardt Wilhelm from Germany's order of power-armored modern knights called the Crusaders, Ana Amari from one of Egypt's elite sniper units, Torbjorn Lindholm, a Swedish weapons designer who had designed many of the weapon systems used by the Omnics, and Dr. Mina Liao (Echo's creator, and the basis of her primary personality) of the now defunct Omnica Corporation, who had created the Omniums in the first place. -Reyes was the de facto commander of this strike force, and through a series of surgical strikes, they managed to shut down many Omniums and eventually contain the God Program, ending the Omnic Crisis. Overwatch was formally created after this, dedicated to keeping the peace and making the world a better place, not just defending it, but helping to rebuild it. When the businessman taunts Reyes about how, even if they do take him, he'll be free within a week, he loses his temper and executes him. The team is forced to shoot their way out throught the streets of Rialto, and for the first time, Blackwatch is exposed to the public. -This is the first major hit to Overwatch's reputation, and the void the businessman left in Talon's leadership is quickly filled anyway. With Gerard Lacroix still proving hard to kill, they decide to instead target his wife, Amelie, who is kidnapped and brainwashed nto a sleeper agent, assassinating her husband as he slept before returning to Talon to become their best assassin, fittingly named "Widowmaker". Considering Moira is implied to have been involved in the brainwashing procedure, she was likely already a double agent working for Talon at this point. Ana, on a routine mission, would engage in a sniper duel with Widowmaker, but recognize her as Gerard's wife, and hesitates to kill her. This leads to her losing her eye, and being presumed dead. -Overwatch's reputation continues to decline, after another incident in Japan forces them to shut down Blackwatch entirely, and their failure to act in Egypt creates a humanitarian crisis there. This is only excaserbated when an uprising by Null Sector (An Omnic extremist group founded by Ramattra after he left the Shambali) takes over much of London, and takes several pro-unity figures including Mondatta hostage. Overwatch goes in despite being expressly forbidden to by the British government, and though they do save the day, this violation of sovereignty is another blow to their reputation, and a possible consequence of it is the leader of the Strike Team, Reinhardt, being forcefully retired. -Overwatch still manages some wins, cornering another high-ranking Talon official and getting information out of him that leads to the capture of the Doomfist, but they're still on the ropes, and with Reyes almost certainly being a member of Talon at this point, they're able to strike a finishing blow, destroying Overwatch's main headquarters in Switzerland. Neither Reyes nor Morrison are believed to have survived, and the former's injuries were so bad that an experimental treatment by Moira was required to save his life, turning him into Reaper in the process. With Overwatch's inability to keep its house in order on full display, the UN finally launches an inquiry into the organization that gets it shut down, and even outlawed. -And so, the remaining Overwatch agents are scattered to the winds, with many becoming mercenaries and bounty hunters, while others return to normal civilian life. But of course, heroism isn't dropped that easily, with some choosing to continue their work as vigilantes. And, with a seeming second Omnic Crisis spearheaded by Null Sector underway, and Talon continuing its work in the shadows, eventually, Winston is inspired to recall them back together.
Echo is an interesting character, she spent so long with Dr. Liao that she adopted much of her personality and even her voice. Echo yearns to feel connected to Dr. Liao, as you can see in some of her voice lines.
Couple fun facts about Ashe’s lore: 1. Her gun (named “The Viper”) is a family heirloom that’s over a hundred years old. She stole it and used it for herself when her parents disowned her. 2. Bob actually stands for “big omnic butler”
Orisa's got the best character development in the universe atm, after her conflict with Doomfist between OW 1 and 2 her personality matrix has adapted and changed making her more aggressive and her new kit/voice/look reflects that. Her and Genji imo, but we don't see how Genji has changed over time
it seemed to me that in OW2 Genji finally fully accepted himself. i mean, he even started wearing clothes like on a real human body. this speaks a lot.
Reaper was in the super solider program with solider 76 during the omnic crisis. All Moria did was experiment on him to push his powers to the limit so he half dead half alive.
Yes! Moira helped create both Reaper and Widiwmaker I believe both? So she's responsible for two of the most deadly assassins ever. Also yes Reaper was on the special ops squad of Overwatch named "Blackwatch". He recruited Cole Cassidy even and was his mentor. Him and Solider 76 were like right hand men to each other. Until they saw differently and and parted ways. Solider considers Gabriel (Reaper) a traitor and defector. As he.. Kinda is.

I LOVE Sombra. She's my OW crush xD love her voice, her demeanor, and she just seems like she could be a real person. Her voice actress doesn't sound like a "video game character" (like not over the top like Reaper or Solider, just casual and even flirty). And her looks are awesome of course.
yes! she's the one who sounds like a real, living person. not like those pretentious heroes with their "i need to save the world..... i was a hero once..... they need me..." and all that. she jokes, asks questions, "trying to break the ice" as she says in voicelines. she even cares and worries about some other characters such as Sigma.
About Moira and Reaper there is an Interaction Line between them also the Reaper Skin which shows his face is him when he was in Overwatch and Jack Morrison's (Soldier 76's) Best friend
The reason for the crap quality of Tracer’s origin is that it’s a recording from a con panel (I believe Blizzcon but I might be wrong) and it was never released publicly for whatever reason. The recording is all we have, otherwise it would be considered lost media.

Technically the music isn't an "illusion" since he sees the equations of his formulas as music (which can be seen in one of his sprays (in which he is seen with an equation on one side of a measure, transitioning to music notes on the other side.))
Gabriel Reyes, aka Soldier 24, yes, he was a super soldier too, working for Overwatch, aka Reaper, was made into Reaper, as we know him now, by Moiras experiments...
fun fact about sigma's origin story. if you play it in reverse, you can actually hear + see some stuff :D. for example, the yellow letters at the beginning make up 'em djirveb'. if you look at it in reverse you can see it's 'bevrijd me' which, in dutch, means release me :D
Sigma remains one of the greatest characters in that roster. I don't like Overwatch but god if they did a comic, or just like one of their shorts with him in it I'd probably pick up that game again
Fun fact!!: Sigma's brazilian va also voiced Silco in Arcane!! He's a true mad man, I recommend watching the brazilian version of Sigma's origin story cuz the dub's truly insane and even more emotional than the original

The only sad part of Reaper is he is tired of the experiments. He is in constant pain, and he basically becomes a violent monster. Only bringing death in his path as the pain brings anger, and anger brings violence. That kind of explains reaper for the way he is.
brigitte isn’t the only one who grew up to be a hero, in the ana origin the young girl she’s raising is pharah who is the flying damage character in the game
For what I know from a friend, Mercy corrupted Reaper in a state that he needs to steal life from the others for survide, then they know about Moira and she "cured" him or upgrade him, the thing with Mercy was an accident

One thing about reaper is that there is a Mandela effect with his orgin. I vividly remember that his powers came from a bad mercy rez basically. Putting him in a state of both life and death. I can never find anything about this, but I like it regardless.
It was when the hq was blown up and reyes was among the casualties, so she decided to do the first rez and it didn't work as intended. She also couldn't do anything about the constantly dying part so he left on bad terms and went to talon.
The sad thing about hammond is he felt betrayed by Winston, in game there's a voice line that goes like "winston: we used to be good friends on the colony, what happened to us?" "Hammond: maybe it had something to do with you stealing his(my) ship design" "winston: I found those in the system, it was an accident!" "Hammond: was it also an accident when you left the colony with out him(me)" he felt abandoned and the only reason he got out of the colony was because he improvised a ship attachment and landed in Australia, the post apocalyptic country of the world, there are a lot of sad backstory to all the characters, like hanzo/genji, widow, especially mei.
Doomfist and Ramattra are by far the most inspirational villains of overwatch. Doomfist believes in the idea that conflict makes us stronger, the more we lose the more prepared we become, until eventually we are too strong to be defeated. He praises champions, he prides on progress. Battle makes us stronger. In fact the story of overwatch centers with the hero organization “overwatch” (yes I know the title is the same as their organization name) in a battle against Talon, led by doomfist as he plunges the world into chaos with the hopes humanity becomes stronger. Ramattra was a soldier of the omnic forces, born in the depths of conflict with a strong prejudice for his people. Eventually, Ramattra becomes sick of war and becomes a monk of peace under the guidance of Zenyatta. However, as the years pass and the omnics are abused by humans, the hate in Ramattras heart grew until eventually he left the monastery, now on the warpath. He created the null sector omnics which have devastated entire countries as Ramattra forges a war that he believes will bring an end to omnic oppression. The leading omnic of peace, Mondatta tries to block out Ramattra’s influence, which only angers Ramattra further. Eventually Ramattra leads an attack against kings row in Britain, solidifying the conflict world-wide. Zenyatta, feeling responsible for Ramattra’s rage, traverses the globe in search of his pupil. He hopes to convince Ramattra to return to the peaceful path while also helping others along the way. Ramattra eventually becomes noteworthy enough to catch the attention of Doomfist. The two meet and make an alliance to destroy the known world. With these two villains heading the armies of destruction that will feature in the Co-op mode, we will see the story of overwatch progress. (Dang, I should be making a movie out of this)
If you can find them you should totally react to the overwatch comics as well. They aren’t talked about often but they give so much nuance to some of the characters.
Soldier 76 was actually a concept from a cancelled game who they dusted off for the superhero MMO turned genre defining Hero Shooter. The part that died? Maybe his dreams. As Overwatch HQ fell, Jack was in a firefight with the man he thought his best friend. The man he entrusted with the direct command of Blackwatch, the spec ops section that didn't legally exist. A fellow graduate of the same super soldier program. Gabriel Reyes, Soldier 24. The man who came to be known as Reaper. There was actually an animated short to debut the Junkertown map starring these two chuckleheads. Though I can't be too mad at Junkrat given how many kills he got me.... especially aftter the Pharah nerf that took away her splash right before Brigitte , so Junkrat was the only option for splash. And like with a lot of characters, if you want more, check the comics. They actually humanize the two. One of the things I looked forward to in seeing the story FINALLY progress was for Pharah to be recognized by the new Overwatch, illegal or not, and to reconcile with her mother. Ana hesitated because she recognized the woman who was forced into becoming Widowmaker. Sombra ran with Los Meurtos for a while. He glowing skull tat skin is actually a lore skin. Sombra's lore video raised major questions that still go unaswered and largely unexplored. It shows that not only were there people in the shadows conspiring against Overwatch, but even Talon, for all its schemes and resources, is but another pawn. Jack's is the only other one to remotely suggest at anything this big, but it didn't convey the full scope. And we are still in looking in the dark last I checked. It is widely speculated that this unknown party engineered the Omnic war, causing the uprising. Sombra isn't the only cyborg, but she did it seemingly without injury to her flesh, seeking mainly to upgrade. It's probably how she's able to teleport. Sombra's motivation is very basic. To rule it all, but he means and methods keep her interesting, as does her personality. Orisa was my tank main. LOVE her lore. For starters, the legacy From the Omnic War models that maimed and killed the mighty crusaders, to their Null Sector return, to the OR15's created as protectors, to this singular unit of compassion and strength. Hear she lost her launched shield and buff drum in 2, which ticked me off something fierce. The King's Row event was so exciting the first time. The Doomfist trailer was SICK! The animation, the emotion, the power, and the promise that this man was a major threat who would cause horrific damage in the name of his brand of Social Darwinsim. A walking disaster who believes destruction and chaos are what the world need. Fun fact, Doomfist was the third to bear the gauntlet and name. Only the first was a hero though. Akande is also the strongest of the 3. A man you could see bringing down a skyscraper. Yeah, we were screaming for an Overwatch anime after that one. As for Tracer, she got better, and I'm assuming that it was technically easier the second time, though being sent back to that state must have been very triggering for Tracer. Less so for Winston, but clearly seeing his friend flickering in and out again hurt him hard. Moira was so fun to play, and she has some interesting lore. Basically, a controversial geneticist who was disgraced for her published methods failing to reproduce the same results. So she either botched her notes and papers with bad scientific method.... or she was lying to hide something. Either way, she lost her credibility in main circles. But there was someone in need of.... unorthodox help that wouldn't be constrained by usual laws or ethics. Blackwatch's leader was experiencing side effects from being made Soldier 24 years ago. Now, if he'd gone to Doctor Ziegler (Mercy) she'd probably purge all the alterations for patient health and refusal to be involved in militarization of medical science. Moira? Well, she'd be willing to try to keep those enhancements, and maybe add more. Mind you, that's a lot riskier, but it worked. She stayed on Blackwatch as their personal scientist and attack medic. And when Reyes rose from the rubble and needed help again, she perfected her initial work on him. After that, they both ended up in high places at Talon. It was a match made in harmonious hell. Talon, especially Doomfist, wants chaos to build a stronger world. Moira wants to use science to build a stronger humanity. Neither believes in following ethics or laws. I ADORRE Brigitte. She's not just interesting, but the kind of person more should aspire to. She ticks my personal boxes with the respect and adoration for the equipment and its makers while also being Reinhardt's voice of reason, squire, and smith. She was a pain for everyone going against her at her debut, but as a character she is perhaps my favorite. Pharah was denied the chances to join Overwatch, but she did join a security force after military service. Brigitte never had the inclination and wasn't old enough when it shut down. Now that it's rebuilding in defiance of the Petras act? Both may well be agents of the illegal organizaion. Yeah, happy hamster, but hard to use. When Winston the Gorilla left after the other gorillas went Planet of the Apes on the scientists, Hammond hitched a ride on Winston's escape vehicle. That was the first actual appearance of the Junker Queen. We'd heard about her first in the Junkertown map update, but this was the first visual. The high quality animation short honestly did Ashe a disservice. She's actually got a short story on the Overwatch Website. Can't say I agree with her found family's pursuits, especially as she could have found other families, but I understand. partly. It takes bravery to walk away like Baptiste did. Gravitational singularities are not to be trifled with. Sigma seems to be 3 personalities.... or possibly 3 chunks of time in his life. The scientist, the shattered mind, and the destroyer. Even if it's not time being forked with a metaphorical chainsaw, he tried to harness a black hole. Forces we barely comprehend and have far less chance of controlling. He tamped with and saw things humanity isn't meant to (at least yet). He is being used as an erratic weapon by Talon. He is at most only partly to blame. "Gravity is a Harness.; I have harnessed the Harness." Still chilling. What if that song isn't an illusion, but a memory of an instrument readout? And this is where I left the game. I was taking a break, then Blizzard was bought outt and Blizzchung was silenced.
It sounded like you thought Ramattra has an animated short, which he unfortunately doesn't (at least for now). But he does have a gameplay reveal trailer that's pretty hype. You might consider reacting to that before he comes out.
sigma was a physicist who went mad after one of his experiments with gravity failed; he then was imprisioned, but coincidentally, talon (reaper and widow's team) broke into the place (lab?) he worked at, either looking for an overwatch agent or intel, on the same day it all went down (you can hear the alarm and gunshots at the end of the trailer). they then found sigma, and moira saw potential on the gravity manipulation abilities he gained due to his experiments. they kidnapped, brainwashed and experimented on him. nowadays he is under talon's custody, but doesn't understand what he is working for. he isn't a bad guy, just really bat shit crazy and stupid; in most of his voice lines he is completely oblivious to his job and talon's doings, hitting on widowmaker and getting distracted by butterflies. poor dude.
Widowmaker wasn't shooting at Tracer to destroy her Chrono-Harness. She was shooting at Tracer so that Tracer would rewind in order not to get hit thereby allowing her bullet to hit it's intended target. That wasn't a coincidence that Mondatta got tapped when Tracer moved to save her own life. Widowmaker is just that good.
Moira made reaper, widow and sigma into what they are now. she basically weaponized poor old sigma cause of his illness. she made it so widow cant feel anything so she can basically be an assassin without feeling any emotion at all. from what i remember widow didn't have much of a choice in this and sigma doesn't even realize shes using him. From voicelines tho widow is starting to feel emotion again and sombra is actually trying to protect poor old sigma. oh and also Ana didn't wanna shoot widow because she used to be married to reaper.

Another possible interpretation for why Sombra does what she does and why she wants to control the world from the shadows is that she wants the power and knowledge to control the world so no one can ever hurt her again. I think its entirely possible that being an orphan scarred her mentally and the struggles of being an orphan, having no parents possibly no friends or anything has left ger with a drive to have control over her reality so that she'll never have to suffer again. Just my theory on a possible interpretation

Reaper was Gabriel Reyes... Overwatch previous leader. But Jack Morrison though, would be the face of Overwatch. Everyone loved Morrison, so Reyes lost the lead of Overwatch and begin to lead Blackwatch. Overwatch's special forces team, composed by the member of the famous japanese Mafia, Shimada Clan, Genji Shimada; The co-leader of the american gang Deadlock, Cole Cassidy; the crazy geneticist Moira and him, of course. And yeah, Moira modified him, so he gained the power of becoming shadows, or something like that
the British rapper Dan Bull has done an Overwatch song as well as ones for every single hero which are honestly incredible. He is one of the greatest lyricists I know if. Would be cool to see someone check them all out.
Moira brainwashed/torured Amelié to become widowmaker as well. And forced her to assassinate her husband (Gerard, an overwatch agent). She's blue because of how slow her heart beats now. It's a really heart breaking story.
So, Sigma has went mad because of an accident with a black hole, and got locked away in an asylum. Talon (The faction that is led by Doomfist and has Reapoer, Widowmaker, Moira and Sombra in it.) broke him out and recruited him, and Moira wants to experiment on him, but Sombra doesn't let her, and they have a voice line where Sombra tells Sigma to tell her, if Moira wants to experiment on him, so she can protect him from Moira.
Winston and Hammond have a kinda sad voice interaction, where Winston apologizes for accidentally stealing Hammond's rocket design, and Hammond replying that it's not for that that he's mad at Winston, but for not offering to come with
The most interesting part about the sigma story is that they scraped the original character and created him like in two weeks because the kit didn't fit Mauga lore and story, Overwatch comics and short stories really expand the world so much.
Fun fact about Sojourn the reason she's so cybernetic is she was born was a disease where her body would constantly decay it self so she had to become cybernetic just to survive 😬😁
It's being heavily insinuated what Sigma does not suffer from three multiple personalities but what he is THREE PARALLEL Sigmas imperfectly combined into one single Sigma. A sort multiple dimension Frankenstein.
Sigma is insane after being exposed to the blackhole he was later imprisoned but talon found out about him and broke him out and now basically just uses him for his powers while he does not understand that

Also Sigma isn't evil or bad. What he is, is that he is being manipulated by the evil people. He is clinically insane so he doesn't fully understand what hes doing. And in the Overwatch 2 In-game voicelines, you can hear that all the Talon Members (Reaper, Moira, Doomfist, etc). Are just trying to please him. They are the ones that freed him from prison. And are just trying to be on his good side. Completely manipulating him so he does their bad actions.
The only person that has compassion to Sigmas situation is Sombra. Sombra is a master manipulator too. She can easily see whats happening with Sigma. So with her interactions with Sigma. Sombra kind of acts like a Big Sister/Motherly Role to Sigma. She doesn't want him to be mistreated. She has his back. But of course staying silent that he (sigma) is being completely used.
In Sigmas view, these people rescued him, they are sponsoring his research, and are overall very friendly with him (which is most seen with Moiras and Sigmas interactions where Moiras just being nice because he is so important to their evil organization Talon).
When speaking to Overwatch characters, Sigma can't believe that the people that freed him from jail are evil. He won't accept that because of the hospitality that was shown and continue to be shown to him
That is genuinely one of the saddest story I have heard in overwatch so far :( thats awful! I feel so bad for sigma and that makes the other characters so much more evil in my eyes. Im glad that sombra looks out for him, makes sense with her understanding how people work and the manipulation! Thanks for watching :)

Sigma's story is so cool, but it seems he's gone even farther off the deep end in Overwatch 2. Of all people, Sombra seems to befriended him and makes sure that Talon (the evil organization they work for) isn't taking advantage of him. They have such wholesome voice lines together if you wanna check them out lol
I always find it funny when he asks widow on a date in pre-match interactions and she turns him down and he's polite going "sorry I wouldn't want to intrude!"
Sombra is one of my favs, her befriending Sigma makes her more of a badass.

To answer your thoughts, yes Moira gave Gabriel Reyes his powers. It was through Mercy’s intervention that she accidentally created Reaper. During the attack on the Swiss base that ended Overwatch and presumably killed Morrison (76) Reyes actually died that day and Mercy found him and tried to resurrect him. Her powers were never able to resurrect like in game and it reacted horribly with Moira’s modifications (Nobody aside from Moira, Genji, and Mecree knew Reyes had shadow powers). Thus the mixing of abilities sent Reyes off the deep end as his powers are causing him immense permanent pain. He’s only in it to kill Overwatch members, he is more of a mercenary to Talon, but he’s very well regarded for his skill.
No, Mercy never tried to save Reyes that day. Moira did.
@@wingedbluj1674 Reyes sent away most of the staff that day, but Mercy came after the base was attack to find survivors, she found Reyes dead or second away and used her staff nanite things to try and pull him from death. Said nanites reacted badly with Moira's changes and 'Killed' him there.
Reaper isn't in it JUST to kill Overwatch Members. It is in part that yes, but he is in it to dispense Justice to those who would normally get away with atrocious like Antonio from the Retribution event(Editted: not short). Antonio himself said "I'll be out within the week" and Reyes knew he was right and killed him to "truly" bring him to justice. In Code of Violence, it is told he dealed with multiples who would escape justice because they were rich, and probably wasn't the last Reyes would deal with, and he joined Talon because Doom promised he would be able to bring them to Justice like he did Antonio, but with the support he needs

Wrecking Ball is the name Hammond adopted while fighting in the Scrapyard, basically a mech fighting competition in Junker Town. He ended up becoming the champion (hence all the lines in game where he calls himself the champ, or where Junkrat fanboys when playing with the champ). As the champ, Junker Queen offered him a job as her personal bodyguard, which he accepted. He's still serving as her guard at the current point in the lore.
Sigma's origin also works when watched in reverse, there is dialogue spoken in reverse all throughout his video

The man who would later be known as Reaper was originally known as Gabriel Reyes. Due to experiments carried out by Doctor Moira O'Deorain, he's cells simultaneously decay and regenerate at a hyper-accelerated rate. The process has been described as "molecular cleansing," where he is "wiped away piece by piece." One moment he may appear as flesh and blood, the next, as a cloud of black smoke. He and Jack (Soldier 76) were both founding meberes of Overwatch. Years later Ultimately, Overwatch met its end through a combination of accusations that tainted the organization's reputation, and Reyes himself. Officially, Reyes and Morrison were killed in the blast that destroyed Overwatch's Swiss headquarters, an event the UN ruled as an accident. In reality, Overwatch had become split down the middle, with Reyes leading a rebellion against Morrison's leadership. As a battle was waged within the base, their fighting triggered an explosion that destroyed the facility. Reyes survived the blast, albeit barely, and woke up to find Dr. O'Deorain standing over him. As Reyes drifted in and out of consciousness, Moira explained how she’d overloaded his body with a cocktail of experimental chemicals-a juiced-up version of the substance that had first given him the ability to manipulate his form. She claimed he'd been close to death and she'd had no other option. Later a mysterious mercenery calling himself Reaper appeared working for the Talon terrorist organization. Both Ana and Jack know his true identity.

Reaper was the original creator and leader of overwatch, then the UN put Jack into that position because he was seen as more charismatic, a face for the organisation. Reapter became the leader of Blackwatch - a specops branch of overwatch and finally had it with Jack, tried to take over and ended up destroying overwatch in the process

When I got a team wipe with Sigma, Bap said "I always liked working with you." Thought that detail was very neat, going back to when Bap worked with Talon.
27:54 BTW Those are Talon's (the groump Widow, Reaper Doom and Moira work for) normal foot soldiers. So he was at one point in a terrorist organization.

Something I literally just noticed about Ramattra's origin story, 43:28 notice how, in the upper left, there is a child seemingly saddened, almost pushing to interfere while their mother holds them back
This kid is directly behind Ramattra, probably the only human he's not seeing in the crowd
I think it shows that, despite the fact Ramattra is right that there are humans who hate them, he's still incapable of quite literally seeing the bigger picture, that some humans are also against the omnic abuse

I'd love to see you react to a timeline/lore explained video; With how much of it is hidden in obscure voice lines, comics, easter eggs on the maps themselves, and even dev interviews, it can be very hard to wrap your head around everything. I'd personally recommend Hammeh's video if you do react to one, or even just wanna check one out in your own time. If you don't, though, I figure I'll share a few cliff notes and fun facts below the cut:
-The Omnic Crisis started when an AI "God Program" known as Anubis took control of deactivated factories called Omniums, designed to be automated, self-improving Omnic production facilities, and started creating Bastion units, as well as corrupting all previously existing Omnics, to wipe out humanity.
-The world was on the brink of collapse, but small individual initiaves were having limited success, so the UN brought them together to form what would eventually become Overwatch; The original six members were Jack Morrison (Soldier 76) and Gabriel Reyes (Eventually Reaper) from the US' Captain America-style supersoldier program, Reinhardt Wilhelm from Germany's order of power-armored modern knights called the Crusaders, Ana Amari from one of Egypt's elite sniper units, Torbjorn Lindholm, a Swedish weapons designer who had designed many of the weapon systems used by the Omnics, and Dr. Mina Liao (Echo's creator, and the basis of her primary personality) of the now defunct Omnica Corporation, who had created the Omniums in the first place.
-Reyes was the de facto commander of this strike force, and through a series of surgical strikes, they managed to shut down many Omniums and eventually contain the God Program, ending the Omnic Crisis. Overwatch was formally created after this, dedicated to keeping the peace and making the world a better place, not just defending it, but helping to rebuild it. Jack Morrison was made its official commander after this, and this is believed to be the start of a rift between him and Reyes, who had previously been good friends.
-After the war, or perhaps during its later stages, many Omnics developed sapience and free will for reasons largely unknown, and most of them wandered aimlessly, trying to find a place in the world they, or at least their bodies, had harmed. Some of them retained memories from the Crisis, though they were blurry, but one Omnic, Bob, found his way back to the Ashe family he had served as a butler before being corrupted, and stuck by her as she ran away from home and formed the Deadlock Gang.
-Some Omnics travelled to Nepal to become monks, forming the monastic order known as the Shambali. Chief among them were three Omnics who considered each other brothers; Zenyatta, Mondatta, and Ramattra.
-Meanwhile, back with Overwatch, they're growing fast, recruiting not only fighters like Vivian "Soujorn" Chase, but also scientists like Mei-Ling Zhou, Angela "Mercy" Ziegler, and even a sentient gorilla named Winston, who escaped from the Horizon Lunar Colony after the other gorillas there revolted and killed all the humans. They contribute much to medicide, climatology, and a number of other fields, and the world enters a golden age. Kids born during this time are even called the "Overwatch Generation", and among them are Fareeha "Pharah" Amari, daughter of Ana, and Brigitte Lindholm, daughter of Torbjorn, whom he allowed Reinhardt to name after he saved his life in a mission to Turkey
-Overwatch still primarily fights criminals, though, including the shady mercenary organization, Talon. Their anti-Talon operations are primarily headed by one Gerard Lacroix, and Talon makes many attempts to kill him, including outright bombing one of Overwatch's bases. Though Lacroix survives, he's left hospitalized, and Reyes convinces Morrison to activate Blackwatch, Overwatch's covert ops division kept secret from the public.
-Blackwatch largely exists to go where Overwatch can't and do the necessary evils that would otherwise tarnish the organizations reputation, and their recruitment reflects that; The seventeen year old Cole Cassidy was caught in a sting operation against the Deadlock Rebels, and offered the ultimatum between working for Blackwatch and going to prison; Genji Shimada was rescued by Overwatch after being left on the verge of death by his brother Hanzo, but his cybernetics made him essentially a living weapon, and he was used by Blackwatch to dismantle the Shimada crime family; The controversial scientist Moira O'Deorain was initially shut down by Overwatch, but recruited into Blackwatch despite that.
-Gabriel Reyes, Blackwatch's commander, personally leads those three on "Operation Retribution", capturing a well-connected businessman with ties to Talon. When the businessman taunts Reyes about how, even if they do take him, he'll be free within a week, he loses his temper and executes him. The team is forced to shoot their way out throught the streets of Rialto, and for the first time, Blackwatch is exposed to the public.
-This is the first major hit to Overwatch's reputation, and the void the businessman left in Talon's leadership is quickly filled anyway. With Gerard Lacroix still proving hard to kill, they decide to instead target his wife, Amelie, who is kidnapped and brainwashed nto a sleeper agent, assassinating her husband as he slept before returning to Talon to become their best assassin, fittingly named "Widowmaker". Considering Moira is implied to have been involved in the brainwashing procedure, she was likely already a double agent working for Talon at this point. Ana, on a routine mission, would engage in a sniper duel with Widowmaker, but recognize her as Gerard's wife, and hesitates to kill her. This leads to her losing her eye, and being presumed dead.
-Overwatch's reputation continues to decline, after another incident in Japan forces them to shut down Blackwatch entirely, and their failure to act in Egypt creates a humanitarian crisis there. This is only excaserbated when an uprising by Null Sector (An Omnic extremist group founded by Ramattra after he left the Shambali) takes over much of London, and takes several pro-unity figures including Mondatta hostage. Overwatch goes in despite being expressly forbidden to by the British government, and though they do save the day, this violation of sovereignty is another blow to their reputation, and a possible consequence of it is the leader of the Strike Team, Reinhardt, being forcefully retired.
-Overwatch still manages some wins, cornering another high-ranking Talon official and getting information out of him that leads to the capture of the Doomfist, but they're still on the ropes, and with Reyes almost certainly being a member of Talon at this point, they're able to strike a finishing blow, destroying Overwatch's main headquarters in Switzerland. -And so, the remaining Overwatch agents are scattered to the winds, with many becoming mercenaries and bounty hunters, while others return to normal civilian life. But of course, heroism isn't dropped that easily, with some choosing to continue their work as vigilantes. And, with a seeming second Omnic Crisis spearheaded by Null Sector underway, and Talon continuing its work in the shadows, eventually, Winston is inspired to recall them back together.

Echo is an interesting character, she spent so long with Dr. Liao that she adopted much of her personality and even her voice. Echo yearns to feel connected to Dr. Liao, as you can see in some of her voice lines.

Orisa's got the best character development in the universe atm, after her conflict with Doomfist between OW 1 and 2 her personality matrix has adapted and changed making her more aggressive and her new kit/voice/look reflects that.
Her and Genji imo, but we don't see how Genji has changed over time

Yes! Moira helped create both Reaper and Widiwmaker I believe both? So she's responsible for two of the most deadly assassins ever.
Also yes Reaper was on the special ops squad of Overwatch named "Blackwatch". He recruited Cole Cassidy even and was his mentor. Him and Solider 76 were like right hand men to each other. Until they saw differently and and parted ways. Solider considers Gabriel (Reaper) a traitor and defector. As he.. Kinda is.

I LOVE Sombra. She's my OW crush xD love her voice, her demeanor, and she just seems like she could be a real person. Her voice actress doesn't sound like a "video game character" (like not over the top like Reaper or Solider, just casual and even flirty). And her looks are awesome of course.
yes! she's the one who sounds like a real, living person. not like those pretentious heroes with their "i need to save the world..... i was a hero once..... they need me..." and all that. she jokes, asks questions, "trying to break the ice" as she says in voicelines. she even cares and worries about some other characters such as Sigma.
About Moira and Reaper there is an Interaction Line between them also the Reaper Skin which shows his face is him when he was in Overwatch and Jack Morrison's (Soldier 76's) Best friend
The reason for the crap quality of Tracer’s origin is that it’s a recording from a con panel (I believe Blizzcon but I might be wrong) and it was never released publicly for whatever reason. The recording is all we have, otherwise it would be considered lost media.

Technically the music isn't an "illusion" since he sees the equations of his formulas as music (which can be seen in one of his sprays (in which he is seen with an equation on one side of a measure, transitioning to music notes on the other side.))

fun fact about sigma's origin story. if you play it in reverse, you can actually hear + see some stuff :D. for example, the yellow letters at the beginning make up 'em djirveb'. if you look at it in reverse you can see it's 'bevrijd me' which, in dutch, means release me :D
Sigma remains one of the greatest characters in that roster. I don't like Overwatch but god if they did a comic, or just like one of their shorts with him in it I'd probably pick up that game again
Fun fact!!: Sigma's brazilian va also voiced Silco in Arcane!! He's a true mad man, I recommend watching the brazilian version of Sigma's origin story cuz the dub's truly insane and even more emotional than the original

The only sad part of Reaper is he is tired of the experiments. He is in constant pain, and he basically becomes a violent monster. Only bringing death in his path as the pain brings anger, and anger brings violence. That kind of explains reaper for the way he is.
brigitte isn’t the only one who grew up to be a hero, in the ana origin the young girl she’s raising is pharah who is the flying damage character in the game
For what I know from a friend, Mercy corrupted Reaper in a state that he needs to steal life from the others for survide, then they know about Moira and she "cured" him or upgrade him, the thing with Mercy was an accident

One thing about reaper is that there is a Mandela effect with his orgin. I vividly remember that his powers came from a bad mercy rez basically. Putting him in a state of both life and death. I can never find anything about this, but I like it regardless.
It was when the hq was blown up and reyes was among the casualties, so she decided to do the first rez and it didn't work as intended. She also couldn't do anything about the constantly dying part so he left on bad terms and went to talon.
The sad thing about hammond is he felt betrayed by Winston, in game there's a voice line that goes like "winston: we used to be good friends on the colony, what happened to us?" "Hammond: maybe it had something to do with you stealing his(my) ship design" "winston: I found those in the system, it was an accident!" "Hammond: was it also an accident when you left the colony with out him(me)" he felt abandoned and the only reason he got out of the colony was because he improvised a ship attachment and landed in Australia, the post apocalyptic country of the world, there are a lot of sad backstory to all the characters, like hanzo/genji, widow, especially mei.
Doomfist and Ramattra are by far the most inspirational villains of overwatch.
Doomfist believes in the idea that conflict makes us stronger, the more we lose the more prepared we become, until eventually we are too strong to be defeated. He praises champions, he prides on progress. Battle makes us stronger. In fact the story of overwatch centers with the hero organization “overwatch” (yes I know the title is the same as their organization name) in a battle against Talon, led by doomfist as he plunges the world into chaos with the hopes humanity becomes stronger.
Ramattra was a soldier of the omnic forces, born in the depths of conflict with a strong prejudice for his people. Eventually, Ramattra becomes sick of war and becomes a monk of peace under the guidance of Zenyatta. However, as the years pass and the omnics are abused by humans, the hate in Ramattras heart grew until eventually he left the monastery, now on the warpath. He created the null sector omnics which have devastated entire countries as Ramattra forges a war that he believes will bring an end to omnic oppression. The leading omnic of peace, Mondatta tries to block out Ramattra’s influence, which only angers Ramattra further. Eventually Ramattra leads an attack against kings row in Britain, solidifying the conflict world-wide. Zenyatta, feeling responsible for Ramattra’s rage, traverses the globe in search of his pupil. He hopes to convince Ramattra to return to the peaceful path while also helping others along the way. Ramattra eventually becomes noteworthy enough to catch the attention of Doomfist. The two meet and make an alliance to destroy the known world.
With these two villains heading the armies of destruction that will feature in the Co-op mode, we will see the story of overwatch progress.

Soldier 76 was actually a concept from a cancelled game who they dusted off for the superhero MMO turned genre defining Hero Shooter.
The part that died? Maybe his dreams.
As Overwatch HQ fell, Jack was in a firefight with the man he thought his best friend. The man he entrusted with the direct command of Blackwatch, the spec ops section that didn't legally exist. A fellow graduate of the same super soldier program. Gabriel Reyes, Soldier 24. The man who came to be known as Reaper.
There was actually an animated short to debut the Junkertown map starring these two chuckleheads. Though I can't be too mad at Junkrat given how many kills he got me.... especially aftter the Pharah nerf that took away her splash right before Brigitte , so Junkrat was the only option for splash. And like with a lot of characters, if you want more, check the comics. They actually humanize the two.
One of the things I looked forward to in seeing the story FINALLY progress was for Pharah to be recognized by the new Overwatch, illegal or not, and to reconcile with her mother.
Ana hesitated because she recognized the woman who was forced into becoming Widowmaker.
Sombra ran with Los Meurtos for a while. He glowing skull tat skin is actually a lore skin.
Sombra's lore video raised major questions that still go unaswered and largely unexplored. It shows that not only were there people in the shadows conspiring against Overwatch, but even Talon, for all its schemes and resources, is but another pawn. Jack's is the only other one to remotely suggest at anything this big, but it didn't convey the full scope. And we are still in looking in the dark last I checked. It is widely speculated that this unknown party engineered the Omnic war, causing the uprising.
Sombra isn't the only cyborg, but she did it seemingly without injury to her flesh, seeking mainly to upgrade. It's probably how she's able to teleport.
Sombra's motivation is very basic. To rule it all, but he means and methods keep her interesting, as does her personality.
Orisa was my tank main. LOVE her lore. For starters, the legacy From the Omnic War models that maimed and killed the mighty crusaders, to their Null Sector return, to the OR15's created as protectors, to this singular unit of compassion and strength. Hear she lost her launched shield and buff drum in 2, which ticked me off something fierce.
The King's Row event was so exciting the first time.
The Doomfist trailer was SICK! The animation, the emotion, the power, and the promise that this man was a major threat who would cause horrific damage in the name of his brand of Social Darwinsim. A walking disaster who believes destruction and chaos are what the world need.
Fun fact, Doomfist was the third to bear the gauntlet and name. Only the first was a hero though. Akande is also the strongest of the 3. A man you could see bringing down a skyscraper.
Yeah, we were screaming for an Overwatch anime after that one. As for Tracer, she got better, and I'm assuming that it was technically easier the second time, though being sent back to that state must have been very triggering for Tracer. Less so for Winston, but clearly seeing his friend flickering in and out again hurt him hard.
Moira was so fun to play, and she has some interesting lore. Basically, a controversial geneticist who was disgraced for her published methods failing to reproduce the same results. So she either botched her notes and papers with bad scientific method.... or she was lying to hide something. Either way, she lost her credibility in main circles. But there was someone in need of.... unorthodox help that wouldn't be constrained by usual laws or ethics. Blackwatch's leader was experiencing side effects from being made Soldier 24 years ago. Now, if he'd gone to Doctor Ziegler (Mercy) she'd probably purge all the alterations for patient health and refusal to be involved in militarization of medical science. Moira? Well, she'd be willing to try to keep those enhancements, and maybe add more. Mind you, that's a lot riskier, but it worked. She stayed on Blackwatch as their personal scientist and attack medic. And when Reyes rose from the rubble and needed help again, she perfected her initial work on him. After that, they both ended up in high places at Talon. It was a match made in harmonious hell. Talon, especially Doomfist, wants chaos to build a stronger world. Moira wants to use science to build a stronger humanity. Neither believes in following ethics or laws.
I ADORRE Brigitte. She's not just interesting, but the kind of person more should aspire to. She ticks my personal boxes with the respect and adoration for the equipment and its makers while also being Reinhardt's voice of reason, squire, and smith. She was a pain for everyone going against her at her debut, but as a character she is perhaps my favorite.
Pharah was denied the chances to join Overwatch, but she did join a security force after military service. Brigitte never had the inclination and wasn't old enough when it shut down. Now that it's rebuilding in defiance of the Petras act? Both may well be agents of the illegal organizaion.

That was the first actual appearance of the Junker Queen. We'd heard about her first in the Junkertown map update, but this was the first visual.
The high quality animation short honestly did Ashe a disservice. She's actually got a short story on the Overwatch Website. Can't say I agree with her found family's pursuits, especially as she could have found other families, but I understand. partly.

Sigma seems to be 3 personalities.... or possibly 3 chunks of time in his life. The scientist, the shattered mind, and the destroyer. Even if it's not time being forked with a metaphorical chainsaw, he tried to harness a black hole. Forces we barely comprehend and have far less chance of controlling. He tamped with and saw things humanity isn't meant to (at least yet). He is being used as an erratic weapon by Talon. He is at most only partly to blame.

sigma was a physicist who went mad after one of his experiments with gravity failed; he then was imprisioned, but coincidentally, talon (reaper and widow's team) broke into the place (lab?) he worked at, either looking for an overwatch agent or intel, on the same day it all went down (you can hear the alarm and gunshots at the end of the trailer). they then found sigma, and moira saw potential on the gravity manipulation abilities he gained due to his experiments. they kidnapped, brainwashed and experimented on him. nowadays he is under talon's custody, but doesn't understand what he is working for. he isn't a bad guy, just really bat shit crazy and stupid; in most of his voice lines he is completely oblivious to his job and talon's doings, hitting on widowmaker and getting distracted by butterflies. poor dude.
Widowmaker wasn't shooting at Tracer to destroy her Chrono-Harness. She was shooting at Tracer so that Tracer would rewind in order not to get hit thereby allowing her bullet to hit it's intended target.
That wasn't a coincidence that Mondatta got tapped when Tracer moved to save her own life.
Widowmaker is just that good.
Moira made reaper, widow and sigma into what they are now. she basically weaponized poor old sigma cause of his illness. she made it so widow cant feel anything so she can basically be an assassin without feeling any emotion at all. from what i remember widow didn't have much of a choice in this and sigma doesn't even realize shes using him.
From voicelines tho widow is starting to feel emotion again and sombra is actually trying to protect poor old sigma.
oh and also Ana didn't wanna shoot widow because she used to be married to reaper.
Moira is honestly the mvp of Talon, she's created half of their strongest agents.

I wouldn’t call him a “bad guy”, more like a guy who needs help…and the people helping him are bad.
Another possible interpretation for why Sombra does what she does and why she wants to control the world from the shadows is that she wants the power and knowledge to control the world so no one can ever hurt her again. I think its entirely possible that being an orphan scarred her mentally and the struggles of being an orphan, having no parents possibly no friends or anything has left ger with a drive to have control over her reality so that she'll never have to suffer again. Just my theory on a possible interpretation

Everyone loved Morrison, so Reyes lost the lead of Overwatch and begin to lead Blackwatch. Overwatch's special forces team, composed by the member of the famous japanese Mafia, Shimada Clan, Genji Shimada; The co-leader of the american gang Deadlock, Cole Cassidy; the crazy geneticist Moira and him, of course. And yeah, Moira modified him, so he gained the power of becoming shadows, or something like that

the British rapper Dan Bull has done an Overwatch song as well as ones for every single hero which are honestly incredible. He is one of the greatest lyricists I know if. Would be cool to see someone check them all out.
Moira brainwashed/torured Amelié to become widowmaker as well. And forced her to assassinate her husband (Gerard, an overwatch agent). She's blue because of how slow her heart beats now. It's a really heart breaking story.

So, Sigma has went mad because of an accident with a black hole, and got locked away in an asylum. Talon (The faction that is led by Doomfist and has Reapoer, Widowmaker, Moira and Sombra in it.) broke him out and recruited him, and Moira wants to experiment on him, but Sombra doesn't let her, and they have a voice line where Sombra tells Sigma to tell her, if Moira wants to experiment on him, so she can protect him from Moira.
Her whole reaction was "Oh" in diffrent interpretations.
Winston and Hammond have a kinda sad voice interaction, where Winston apologizes for accidentally stealing Hammond's rocket design, and Hammond replying that it's not for that that he's mad at Winston, but for not offering to come with

The most interesting part about the sigma story is that they scraped the original character and created him like in two weeks because the kit didn't fit Mauga lore and story, Overwatch comics and short stories really expand the world so much.
Fun fact about Sojourn the reason she's so cybernetic is she was born was a disease where her body would constantly decay it self so she had to become cybernetic just to survive 😬😁
