The thing about Sombra's boop, is that it's referencing the other photograph on Volskaya's desk, with her doing the same thing to her daughter. So, either Sombra is being the same sort of playful, or if you want to take the darker implication, she made an indirect threat to the daughter.
Meh, people always say that but I don't think Sombra is threatening the daughter's life like that. She had already shown a photograph of Volskaya's daughter to her as a threat to her reputation and family life if she was imprisoned after people find out about her arms dealing with the omnics. Sombra was just reminding her of that with that playful boop, not threatening to fucking kill her daughter.

the videos with genji, dva, and hanzo at the end were trailers for crossover stuff with another blizzard game, they just have a little bit of lore for hanzo and genji in them which is probably why they included them. there's no demonic monsters or people able to turn into dragons in overwatch's universe.
You could tell he was a little disappointed with the monsters and dragons and stuff. Hopefully he knows they’re not canon

The reason dva, a gaming expert is piloting the mech, is because the government didn't have pilots with fast enough reflexes to use them, so they turned to the pro gamers

I've always had a crush on Sombra as dumb as that sounds. She talks, walks and acts like an actual person. Not like a video game character like some characters do. Her actress pulls off such a natural grace that translates to in game

The Junkrat/Roadhog one looks different because it wasn't made with the same animation engine. It used the in-game engine, because it wasn't an "official" cinematic, it was made to advertise Junkertown as a map when it came out.

Also; 40:04 "how does she end up with Overwatch?" She's not part of Overwatch. A decent amount of characters in the game are either in the enemy group Talon or are part of other organizations and teams or just on their own

Overwatch was formed to combat the Omnic invasion, a race of military-grade machines that turned on humanity. Gabriel Reyes and Jack Morrison were brought on for an experimental project that gave them enhanced abilities. Reyes would be Soldier 24, and Morrison would be Soldier 76 becoming good friends during training. Morrison would become the leader of Overwatch all throughout the Omni-Crisis, much to Reyes' chagrin. After the crisis, that jealousy only grew, and Reyes formed Blackwatch, a covert group that operated within Overwatch. Reyes recruiting the former leader of a notorious gang of outlaws (McCree, now Cassidy), the wounded son of the top Yakuza Clan in Japan (Genji Shimada), a scientist that had been kicked out of Overwatch for not being ethical in her research (Moira), and several others. They took on several missions that could be deemed illegal. Spying on allied nations, going into countries where they were not wanted, killing high ranking officials, such as the leader of the Shimada Clan Yakuza. Reyes also allowed Moira to conduct an experiment on himself.
Morrison constantly tried to reign Blackwatch in, causing Reyes and Morrison to butt heads. During one such argument, a terrorist organization that sought the destruction of Overwatch, detonated the HQ with both men inside. The media attention from the illegal missions and the destruction of their base led to the rest of the world outlawing Overwatch activity, shutting down the organization and disbanding them. The world thought Reyes and Morrison were dead. Reyes, however, thanks to the experimentations of Moira, would take on a new name. Reaper.
Morrison, blaming himself for what had happened and wanting to find out who had targetted them, became a masked vigilante going by his old designation, Soldier: 76.
On the other side of backstories, Kiriko, Genji, and Hanzo all grew up together, with Kiriko's mother teaching them the way of the sword. The brothers were part of the powerful Shimada Clan, their father their leader. Genji used his family's wealth and status to essentially be the ultimate party boy, leaving all the responsibilities of the family to Hanzo. When their father was killed, the elders of the clan wanted Hanzo to lead, but he wanted to do so with his brother at his side. He tried to convince him to become more responsible, but Genji refused. Hanzo felt that Genji had brought dishonor to the Clan, so he attacked him. Hanzo proved the better swordsman, leaving Genji in critical condition. Hanzo thought he had slain his brother. This would cause the final downfall of the clan, allowing the Hashimoto Clan to move in.
Genji survived with the help of Doctor Angela Ziegler, best known as Mercy. She put his body back together using cybernetics, and he warred within himself about being more machine than man. He joined Blackwatch because he saw no other option. He would, however, eventually find himself at a monastery, where he met Zenyatta, an Omnium guru who preached that human and machine were all part of the same world. Genji found himself there, coming to find peace in what he had become.
funfact incase you didnt know or no one said it. Kiriko's mother in addition to training Kiriko, also trained Genji and Hanzo when they were all kids
btw you really should watch the origin stories❤they are short anime that reveals the background of many heroes

The one with Hanzo and the Dragon at the end is from Heroes of the Storm, a League of Legends type game made by Blizzard, that has characters from -all- of their games, the dragon is Alexstrasza from World of Warcraft

The two at the end with genji and hanzo were cross-promotional cinematics for Blizzard's MOBA Heroes of the Storm where Genji/Hanzo/Dva are playable characters. Genji and Dva are fighting Diablo from the Diablo games and Hanzo is fighting Alexstrazsa from World of Warcraft
The short cinematic which is a quick cinematic compilation of some of the heroes including Mercy, was when overwatch 1 released.
Always great to see people's reactions to these classics. It'd be awesome if you could react to the world of warcraft cinematics! Same studio, same quality (better on some), insane stories. Basically the best cinematics in the video game industry in my opinion!
First, thank you for rewinding it to rehear Brigitte's name. Not that I didn't know how to pronounce her name or anything, it's just has a great angle. Second OW2 Zero Hour cinematic takes place after all the other ones. Winston set out the recall, Mei made it out of Antarctica, Reinhardt returned his OW pin to his master who died on the throne.

I love how all the things that happen in the shorts are in the game maps, like Reinhardt friend is in the chair in the game and the robots that were left there are there too
the part where reinhard crashes through the wall to save his comrads is also in the game, the wall is broken in that exact spot ingame

For reference Kiriko's mom is the one who taught Genji and Hanzo how to fight.
The genji and hanzo videos near the end are promotional material for Heroes of the Storm, another blizzard game. they are not canon to the overwatch lore.

I think I'd prefer if they made a TV show like Arcane, but a movie would be awesome too. It's too many characters though, so I think a show would give each character a lot more time to develop their stories. A movie would just focus on some of them. I want to see everyone getting a good amount of screentime.
Yeah Dreamworks should make it a trilogy kinda like how Kung Fu Panda is now I say now because they’re making a fourth one it would also be pretty cool if they made Overwatch using the Spider-Man into the spiderverse animation also but either animation style would be alright I just know the spiderverse animation is really popular right now especially since the next spiderverse is soon to drop
You should check out the cutscenes from archives story missions too. The one in Rialto and Havana especially. And well, the new PvE lore as well. They bring a lot of interesting info. (The Rialto one showed Blackwatch, the sister organisation to Overwatch that Reaper, Cassidy and Genji were a part of and that got Overwatch shut down in the end).
Also, do check out the comic! It explains all that wasn't mentioned in the cinematics (these and the more anime ones)

Yeah idk which compilation or playlist you were using, but I don't think this one really did Overwatch justice. The trailer where Tracer and Winston save the two kids at the museum was supposed to be THE first debut of Overwatch ever, and while the Bastion trailer is amazing and all, I feel like the original first trailer feels the most introductory.
Also, this compilation/playlist also included two trailers from Heroes of the Storm, a crossover MOBA game that Overwatch characters made a special appearance in (trailer where Genji and D.va fight a big demon thing, trailer where Hanzo fights the dragon lady). They're still very cool trailers, but whoever put them in a playlist with all the other Overwatch cinematics failed to consider that people reacting to them blind are gonna have no clue what's going on

Mccree was busted out of jail by Reaper and he didnt go with Echo cause hes a wanted for escaping jail.
He didn't go with echo because he went to recruit some new members: Baptiste, Pharah, Dva, and Zarya. His story is continued in the New Blood comics

Some of these shorts aren't from Overwatch. In heroes of the storm they mix universes and that's why some overwatch characters show up in their shorts. It's not canon in Overwatch but they added it cause it shows some of the overwatch characters. These videos are pretty old, there should be some better video or playlist
