Can't wait to meet his henchmen: Gucci and Supreme.
Okuyasu Nijimura this deserves 1k likes
Yoooooooo
I thought his hench man was going to be named.....Panda...Lol
underrated joke ngl
LMBOOOO
What if Joker supposedly 'killing' the Designer was his plan all along. That somehow he convinced the Joker to work for him - being the only one of the people to manipulate the Joker or at least use Joker's mind against him (that even Batman cant understand). Makes him a more interesting character imo
Agreed.
He’s either the riddler or working for the riddler it was revealed in the latest issue
and catwoman marrying and having a kid with bruce was the way to get his money.
@@Spite_Lip
Haha. Thts the real life legit way
If he can manipulate the Joker, that makes him all the more terrifying, imagine the Designer going up agains someone like Darkseid.
So essentially, the Designer is just a guy who runs supervillain workshops.
Hi my name is The Designer and welcome to my TED talk where today you learn how to be supervillains and commit crimes even betterer than before
Consultant Criminal
@@Ven-zg3fj
*LOL*
Like taskmaster
"You think you can catch Keyser Soze, the devil himself"
I saw a comment somewhere that perfectly describes The Designer: "The idea that someone is playing 12-dimensional chess so far in advance that they can see the Joker evolve from being a goofy prankster to an apocalyptic ultra-villain is terrifying. That'd be like meeting a young art student and knowing then he'd ignite one of the most devastating wars the world had ever seen. It boggles the mind."
I really like this concept
Granted no art student ever ignited a devastating war. But it sounds like an interesting premise for a Batman villain
As long as that art student is seperated enough from Hitler obviously
It's horrifying if you think about it. We've seen the evil clown shoot Barbara Gordon in the groin and leave her paralyzed then try to drive Jim Gordon mad, beat the living shit out of Robin with a crowbar, regularly abuse Harley Quinn, obtain 99% of Mr. Mxyzptlk's powers and devour the entire population of China for shits and giggles, shoot Jim Gordon's wife in front of a large group of babies, nuke Metropolis using a pregnant Lois as a bomb, cut off the faces of Batman's "family", regularly try to poison Gotham with deadly laughing gas, goad Dick Grayson into killing him by harming Tim Drake, skin a man alive at a strip club, break his own neck to frame Batman for murder, turn the citizens of Gotham into zombies, kill people for practice, murder 19 police officers, release a hailstorm of broken glass, blow up an entire school, sell poisoned cotton candy, and try to copyright Joker-ized fish...and that's just the tip of the iceberg. What the hell could the Joker be able to do if his full potential was realized?!
Ty Sargent nerd
@@9reen280 I take that as a compliment.
Plot twist.... Catwoman getting married to Batman and having his kid = damn near legal way to potentially take or inherit Wayne enterprises...I kno I'm not the only one thinking this..
shit, that is clever.
88bcbrick I really don’t wanna believe that but you’re so right..... I’d hate her but that would make a very interesting story, especially if there’s something bigger planned bts
thought the same thing immediately!
It disgusts me how clever and feasible it is ~
@Chicken Mafia maybe inspired by Amazon Bezos divorce lol
The Designer Souns like a Moriarty who actually did it and killed sherlock Holmes
That’s what I’m hearing honestly
He's James Moriarty...Probably
Yeah we are on the same page
That’s it that’s the backstory
Most definitely!
The designer’s design looks awesome! Like a rich ass Rorschach.
At least to me.
Grey World IKR!!!!!
He looks exactly like Rorschach
Looks like something from naruto 🍥
looks like the Rorschach mixed with Kraven the Hunter(weapon wise) he better be still alive since he just got shot in the back and as an new villain he looks sweet and majestic just what for him to come back to the Joker.
LOL
How to make a batman villain
1.Pick a noun
2. Make a person related to that noun
3.Make them insane
There u go
Crowbar
Crowbar Killer
The Crazy Crowbar Killer 😂
DC made Batman's Rogues Galley by picking each of Batman's persona and identity and turn it to extreme and up notch.
This time the Designer is Batman's prudent and man-behind-the-scene persona plus James Moriarty x10.
Designer isn't insane tho. Neither is Penguin, Catwoman, Ras al ghul, or Black mask for that matter.
@@Harleyxjokerforever well black mask is pretty crazy. He literally gets off on torture.
Red-Man yeah, but how about Zsasz?
Joker told him that he wanted to take control of Konami and then transform Silent Hill, Metal Gear and Castlevania into Pachinko Machines.
No wonder The Designer wanted to kill him after hearing such a horrifying and evil plan
Hahahhaah 🤣🤣🤣
Bats??? Bats?!?!?! BATS!!!!!!
ROFL wtf
April 3 on the way
@@johnlawful2272 Hell yeah
That was funny as hell how he spends time talking with Joker then immediately comes out of the room "kill them all" lol. He saw true evil that day and wanted to kill it.
So, which one is worst?
Having a "chat" with Joker for an hour straight.
Or
Getting tortured by him (not killed) for 30 minutes.
(Basically live in total hell by either mentally or physically :))
@@kasamigi8031 So either Jason or Designer
@@Chrome-uc3fw No, either getting stupidly crazy or half dead.
That doesn't make sense but I never am.
Or it was actually part of Joker’s deal?
The Designer’s first mistake was involving The Joker. He should’ve invited Bane instead.
Was it a mistake? They both see eye to eye. Joker cares more about beating his advisory than he does money or power, the same could be said about the Designer. My theory is that it was Jokers plan was to set all this up. There was a reason their conversation was so much longer compared to all the others. Their plan had actual depth, much deeper than that of the other villains as it intertwined all those plans together. Also the man Joker shot was one of his henchmen dressed up as him.
Nacho Friend that’s great I dont do Theories they always 99.9 percent wrong read theories about rise of Skywalker and other movies
Or Two Face!
If this is near the beginning, Bane wasn't around then.
In the words of Lex Luthor. "only a Fool would not play with out a full deck. Every full deck always has a Joker."
God I love new age batman villains; the court of Owls, Talon, Anarchy, Mr. Bloom, the Batman who laughs and now Designer. Hyped to see what’s in store for the future of Batman villains
Also, who else picked up on the Adam West reference by having it be those four villains as the ones used
Spicy Lady I like the Tomasi Arkham Knight, her back story was pretty cool.
Wouldn’t the Batman Who Laughs just technically be Joker?
I want more of mr bloom
I caught that reference too!!!
dude even batman beyonds Rogues gallery is awesome royal flush gang, blight, Kobra, ink, spellbinder, shriek, stalker , currare. I know marvel fans get mad at it but Batman has the best Rogues Gallary out of any comicbook like X-men is the only one that can come close.
The Designer looks like something out of a manga.
I'm specifically thinking Death Note/20th Century Boy, with a hint of Jojo for good measure.
Wasn't a Mirai Nikki character with a similar look, albeit without a cape?
"this scooby doo lookin mother fricker" is the best thing ive heard ever
So Catwoman is having Bruce's baby and married with no prenup. Sounds like her part of the plan worked.
This wouldn't be the first time Batman and Catwoman had a child.
His costume reminds me a lot of Kanye west’s yeezus costumes ( the mask, gold chain, coat and baggy pants) and he is also a “designer”.
😮
Plot twist: It is Kanye
He’s Moriarty and the detective is Sherlock Holmes. Just a guess
And the detective he beaten is Sherlock
Before he vanished and his notes becomes the basis of Arthur Conan Doyle's novels....
I immediately thought that too
I think this Designer might be The Question. You know the guy in a blue suit and hat the acts like a detective.
@@arg7380 I'm pretty sure Question is a justice obsessed reporter
Not the type to help Penguin rise to being a mayor
Boy If that's the case then Moriarty is a geriatric super athletic villain!
Is it just me or does it seem like Batman is getting a lot of new villains here lately? I’m not complaining tho
FoxRNG I prefer it if we actually got new villains thank you very much instead of using the same ones over and over again
@FoxRNG Scarecrow's never gotten a comic? He once held the yellow lantern ring. What are you talking about?
Quality over quantity rule still applies.
FoxRNG I mean that a makes sense. The scarecrows been told, we all know his story and gimmick and yea he is used a ton in other media (specifically looking at Arkham Knight) but comics are the cheapest and safest way for DC to debut new characters. Imagine if a Batman movie had its main villain be some new character that DC isn’t sure audiences would even like
I just wished they made more and better villains for other heroes not just Batman
9:22 his backstory makes him sound like ACTUAL Moriarty.
It's been a while since comics have introduced new villains issue by issue like comics in the 60s and 70s, I don't mind this really
The designer is like that sonic the hedgehog meme "I was not expected that but I was expecting not to expect something"
I know if it’s Variant Comics I’m never too early.
It's awesome that a master criminal consultant "The Designer" can enter a room with "The Joker" & come out hours later so freaked out that he aborts his plans and says "Kill them all, Gotham is F#$KED!"
Pretty sure that was all part of the plan him and joker came up with , I mean they talked for HOURS
@@kyle6160
Nope fake death....
The two bonded and probably got the same memo....
I feel like everyone’s misinterpreting the whole “Kill then all” situation. If his meeting with Joker caused the Designer to deem him a lost cause, he would’ve murdered the Joker in his office, not simply leave the Joker u n a t t e n d e d.
My main theory (I see this is pretty common in the comments) is that this whole thing is a part of the Joker’s plan from the Designer. It has to be. There’s literally no other way any of this could make sense.
He wouldn't kill the Joker in his office. He'd create a scheme so that others would wind up killing the Joker for him. He's a schemer, that's his whole thing.
If he were to do that, he wouldn’t have “attempted” murder of the others.
Me: How could he have survived a gunshot to the head by Joker?!
Also Me: It's comics!
Bullet proof head thingy
My guess is he didn't and the new Designer is actually his old detective rival who faked his death, now he's come back to test himself against the new Worlds Greatest Detective and prove he's still as good
He’s the designer so he predicted that scenario
could be part of his plan with the joker
The Designer faked the whole scene. He hired a body double because he knew that Joker was too dangerous to be bed-bunked.
Plot twist: The events that are playing out is actually the design he made for the Joker. Which probably included his betrayal in one of the steps. Hence why he and the Joker talked for hours.
That would blow my mind.
It’s exactly why they talked for hours. Joker was the only one who saw the endgame. Catwoman wanted money. Penguin wanted Power. But Joker sought something much more than either of those. He wanted, to simply beat the Bat. Like how Designer said he stopped doing crimes for the fortune, but simply to beat his adversary. Him and Joker both share that goal. Which is why he was chosen to fulfill the most important role.
Kenn Fernandez I don’t know if it got auto corrected (cellphones can be finicky sometimes) but I think you meant to use “hence” and not “hench”
@@DeadCardinal Damn auto-correct! **shakes fist**
Thanks for catching that man. Cheers!
Holy SHIT that's an amazing Theory
He looks like a Renaissance fair threw up on him. And is everyone else wondering what is up with all the retconned-into-the-past villains?
I seen you yet again 5 times today
well as long as it works, and it works for the Designer.
We meet again mustache guy I will defeat you I swear I will not see you in any more marvel or dc videos
You are the myth I’ve heard of “every comic video he appears, even ones you’ve never seen he’s there”
What do you mean retconned into the past villains
"Batman's Moriarty" I like this, and the way he introduced himself truly reminded me of the Sherlock Holmes VS Moriarty relationship.
efflam15 Except we kind of already had that in you know, THE RIDDLER!
All this and he will never be as lit as the music mister
Just when I was about to be dissapointed at my main man Joker for being a part of somebody else's plan, he shoots him in the head
What a legend
Nikos Spiris Plot twist. That was part of the plan
Really can’t wait to get my hands on the Robin 100 page giant that came out today
Happy reading!
It’s awesome!
I 100% agree that the art in this one is AMAZING, and also I love the purple Catwoman suite the best as well.
The Designer reminds me of kingpin with his personality and swagger.
The Designer looks like someone from Dressorosa in One Piece, very Doffy
He grew, and his enemy grew. So he decided he would cut out the middle man and grow by himself. Awesome.
The artwork is absolutely amazing..!! The scene at the dock looks excellent.
It would have been great if each issue of 90 had that card with a D.
Ok... Designer fought Zorro. I think. Well, i think it due to the design of a person he fights and how he draws similarity between his adversary and Batman. Both are great fighters, both have the secret cave, both are wealthy man fighting crime and injustice and both are very inteligent detectives.
I know there are also leads towards Sherlock Holmes, but he isn't a fighting guy. He is alsl remembered, while Zorro basically faded into obscurity, "A shade of former self"
The designer's ultimate plan is Panda
COVID-19 sounds like something Batman would have a cure to in his utility belt
I read all of the Designer’s lines in the voice of Sam Whitwer.
Sam Witer as Designer? That sounds genius 😊
I can see it
Nah, Kanye West.
Don't know. How can the Designer out "Moriarty," Al Ghul, the Joker, Hush, and so many others? This is an example of how the comics industry try to keep upping the villlains and heroes until they're almost not human, and try to out shock the previous shock in comics.
Actually Designer’s description of the Detective makes me think that the Designer IS Moriarty
4:10 look at all that drip. Biggest flex I’ve seen in a while
It’s a little early but this guy doesn’t strike me as a game changer yet. He’s not showing me anything the other badass master criminals can’t do. He’s Hush. He’s Calendar Man. He’s Bane.
Plot twist: Joker was part of Designer's plan, to throw them all off so that when he comes back, they would never know.
Oh God, is this gonna be James Moriarty?
Cuz he sounds like its James Moriarty.
You're a goddamned genius✨✨✨
Dark-Slayer then where is sherlock holmes
Daniel Hissi He’s probably the so called "Adversary” the Designer was talking about.
Edit: 6:21 (here’s the time stamp for what gave me the idea).
The Game Sound shit you may be right but rather than sherlock why not we look into DC other detective character like the shadow...
Or maybe even Eurus Holmes?
"A Shadow of his former self" hmmmm the Shadow? A great detective and the sillouet also fits so maybe?
Variant: Origin of the Designer (New Batman Villain)
Me: Panda, Panda, Panda...???
I JUST put a similar post 😂😂 PANDA!!
Lame!
Grrrrrrrrraaaa!
The Ironic is that all Four Villains got what they wanted without the Designer's help, despite the circumstances, The Penguin became The "King of Gotham" for a time by becoming a Crime Lord, The Riddler became known as the" Gotham's Smartest Criminal" by several of her followers and henchmen, Catwoman became Gotham's Richest Woman by romantically bonding with and nearly marrying Batman/Bruce Wayne and The Joker actually took the Designer's place from both that he used the same one the Designer used to resurrect and control zombies including the dead body of the Designer himself.
He looks like he put his costume together at a second hand store
1:48 gave me a nostalgic feeling growing up in queens way back in mid 90s😁
i feel like every batman villain is his Moriarty, Joker, Hush, His older brother, Ras Al'Ghul, Batman who laughs, even Ridler and Owlman to some extent...
Oh so you like the DESIGNER'S DESIGN. Alliterations are awsome. Designer's design is a good issue name
Seeing batman battle mystery guy( designer)on a blimp reminded me of batman and joker fighting on one back when joker would do stuff like putting his face on fish lol and way designer looks sitting at desk at 6:05 ... this might be one of the other jokers
That wasn't batman
Wasn't he killed by the Joker during that perfect crime strategy meeting customized to each criminal? ( Penguin, Riddler, Catwoman, Joker). He's a one and done.
What's the name of the designer that designed the designer?
The designer designer
Scott Snyder
So as someone who hasn’t read the comics and by now doesn’t where to jump in or anything, I know a lot about what things have happened in the Batman mythos thanks to videos on channels like this and my own research and stuff. But these latest villains like The Batman Who Laughs, The Designer and the Three Jokers story make me wish I had a way to read these stories.
The Designer looks really freaking awesome and I hope he becomes part of the popular Batman villains! I think it’s really cool there are villains being created that in a decade’s time could be considered staples of Batman’s rogues, like Two-Face, Joker and Catwoman and the like are now!
I seen new villain and Batman instantly click
This is brilliant
Meanwhile at Marvel HQ:
Someone: Let's create fat Dora the Explorer!
Everyone else: OmG WHat A gREaT IdEa!!?!
*cough* gotham high *cough cough*
I hear Anti-Harley and immediately I picture a Joker trap getting re rigged so it catches both bats and Joker, Punchline laughing away as she’s says something something kinda Harley like “You should see your faces Sugah!” And as she’s leaving Joker just turns to Batman and goes “Quite the catch with this one eh bats? Now, what’s your plan to save us? Hahahahaha” 😂🤣
The Designer, ironically, does not have a great sense of fashion.
Yet somehow it works. >:[
Right?! lol
I don't read comics, but I can't wait to see where this story goes, and your video on it
Spoiler:
He could kill the Joker when they were in the room together
yep and took his identity as someone pulled Artie body out of the room
My friend: So what is it that you are watching
Me:Well...a whole lot of designs
This arc was dumb. The writers the designer’s backstory vague enough to the point where when the twist is revealed that joker just kills him, you feel nothing because you basically know nothing about him except he is potentially at one point clever. Also I know it’s comics but joker wouldn’t be able to take over a huge city for weeks without gaining the attention of larger forces like other superheroes or the Justice league. Usually joker’s crimes although ranging in scale, opt to specifically cause batman turmoil and they never truly reach justice league levels of destruction or something. And this “3 jokers” plot point was set up a while before and Jason killing one near the start and another joker killing one at the end, returning to the status quo of 1 joker feels anticlimactic.
Although I’v heard similar opinions before on this arc so I’m sure this isn’t any special hot take of mine or something.
The artwork looks absolutely wonderful
Sounds like this villain rearranges your furniture😂
I like the Designers design and attitude. He might give The Batman who Laughs a run for his money
"If you're good at anticipating the human mind, it leaves nothing to chance."

Thanks a ton, this was super helpful!
At this point it feels like everyone wants to out do the basn who laughs.
Anyways I get a new villain and a sweet comic.
The Designer’s plans sound similar to the Knight-fall stories, and i wouldn’t be surprised if he was inspired because of it. It’d be a good twist to find out that the designer survived, and that the events that were transpiring were part of his plan for the joker, since they share a common motivation in terms of their nemesis
"In the country and in the world"
That's such an American thing to say, just saying "in the world" would have been enough
U.S.A
.
If he were in any country he'd say the same thing. Quit reaching you might sprain something
?
Was SUPER skeptical when I started the episode but wow wow wow. This character is so cool, and with his background of thinking 1000-steps ahead...every situation with him could be a false. Like him getting shot in the head.....he probably knew that's how it would end so he sent in a doppleganger etc etc. Love it
For me, Batman has the second best rogues gallery in fiction, and the first being that of Sherlock Holmes. And since Sherlock Holmes is the most repeated literature series ever, there is no doubt in that, but that's a huge thing to award Batman second place. It shows u how good his rogue' s gallery is
@shogun harlem true
So he’s basically DC’s version of taskmaster but without photogenic memory
kinda obvious that the designer designed a scene where joker kills him so everyone forgets his existence and only remembers at the right moment where he can strike.
Also puts a convenient answer for the audience if they ever ask the question
" why has no one ever mentioned him in the past?"
I think I understood what happened. The one who joined the other villains is the same one seen in the grave is Artie. Then what happened in the room is that there were 3 people Joker Artie, Designer and X. Designer killed Joker Artie thinking it was the original while X (Designer dress) came out saying to kill the other 3 outsiders. After this Designer discards the body of Joker Artie, takes the identity of the Joker and kills X dressed as Designer.
I'm intrigued to know more of this Designer.
The joker killed the designer as part of the plan
Just me who wants Ratcatcher to make return? Don't get me wrong, it is neat to see new villians from time to time but I would love to see some love for some of the old ones. I would also love to see Bane stop being a bad guy and join bats but after the city of bane I don't think that will happen anytime soon.
I personally want Hugo Strange to be far more major character.
Designer looks like a one piece enemy lol
The will of D
what if designer is just an image joker has created to keep the villains in check and manipulate them without suspicion and killing the designer and reviving was all his joke
I'm liking this character
A plan broker
I thought he was going be like I don't no COLOR KIDS FATHER
